Chapter 1312: Section 1313 Unreasonable Existence

Immune to almost all forms of mental interference? Angel didn’t understand at first, but after Sanders explained, he grasped the key point.

Being immune to mental interference meant that it was impossible to hypnotize Rolando, to set markers in his consciousness, and naturally, it was impossible to turn him into a puppet.

Moreover, this personality of Rolando’s was even more insane than the deranged Eulica.

He feared no punishment as if his body did not belong to him. During the torture, Rolando felt no pain, but rather, with a sly smile, he taunted Suise with provocative and seductive words, attempting to provoke Suise into killing him.

However, killing him would lead to an even more uncontrollable outcome, so Suise could only endure.

Yet Rolando’s words were like magic, always striking directly at the most unbearable parts of Suise’s heart. Several times Suise almost lost control and struck him, and it was only thanks to Sanders’ presence that Rolando’s schemes had not succeeded.

...
“His personality is almost flawless. If he were a bit stronger, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call him the sharpest blade in King Gumman’s hand,” Sanders highly praised Rolando’s second personality.

This terrifying personality always lurked beneath an unremarkable exterior, hidden among the masses, undetectable and unfathomable to anyone. But when it did surface, Rolando was like a man wearing a suit of steel armor, armor forged from mutual destruction, unbridled madness, and malicious thorns.

No one could penetrate the armor to reach the tender body beneath.

Only by completely destroying him could the mission of the armor be ended.

This perhaps was King Gumman’s reason for choosing Rolando… The power of the Crimson Authority itself was to create puppets, and if its power recoiled upon its master, Rolando had a second personality to replace the primary one.

“Killing him is unpredictable. Yet there’s no other effective means of control, so Suise and Rolando have been at a standstill, trying to find a way to control Rolando or to exorcise his second personality,” Sanders paused, “However, there has been no progress.”

What’s most important is that not only does Rolando possess this terrifying second personality, but he is also the master of the Crimson Authority!

During this period, even if his actions were restricted, as long as Suise was nearby, Rolando had ways to manipulate Eulica in the Exile Space and even the Crimson Authority itself.

Although suppressed by Sanders, due to the Crimson Authority’s involvement, no one could predict whether Rolando was holding back.

Therefore, for the time being, Suise and Sanders couldn’t return to Pat Manor. Should Rolando truly have more cards up his sleeve and a resurgence of the Crimson Authority occur, it was hard to predict the consequences.

Having listened to Sanders’ account, Angel finally understood their predicament.

“He’s now like he’s wielding an invincible shield, fearless of death, and even actively seeking it,” Angel shook his head, such a situation was new to him.

Others, faced with such a predicament, knowing they couldn’t escape, would make a choice.

But Rolando was different. He ceded the choice to Suise, openly playing three cards: his terrifying second personality, the desire not to fear death but to actively seek it, and the ability to manipulate the Crimson Authority.

Each card had no absolute counter.

It seemed that other than ripping up the cards, there was no other way.

“Are we to just watch him be so arrogant?” Angel frowned.

Sanders also felt helpless; he too had thought of other methods, but they were all flawed in various ways and significantly risked drawing King Gumman’s attention.

To discreetly resolve the issue with Rolando was truly troublesome.

However, Sanders didn’t believe there was no solution at all. If push came to shove, they could abandon the restriction of “resolving it secretly” and deal with Rolando openly. Then things would become much clearer, but such an act would mean openly opposing King Gumman.

Angel fell silent for a moment, pondering whether there was a solution, but if even his mentor was at a loss, finding a suitable plan seemed improbable.

The key to this issue lay in Rolando’s terrifying second personality. Perhaps, starting with this personality was the only way to solve the problem?

“Does a flawless second personality truly exist?” Angel murmured softly, “There should be no such thing as absolute perfection in this world.”

“Absolute perfection doesn’t exist, but relative perfection does. For now, this second personality of his, with its various inconceivable aspects, seems relatively perfect to me,” Sanders said.

“If it really is a relatively perfect personality, why is it just the second personality and not the primary one? As a second personality, doesn’t it covet the rights to the body?” Angel asked, puzzled.

“Why do you assume it’s the second personality? Just because I referred to it as the second one?” Sanders said with a smile that was not quite a smile, “What I meant was simply that it’s the second personality I have observed.”

Angel paused, indeed, Sanders had only said it was the second personality but never stated that it wasn’t the primary one.

In fact, there might be a third personality, a fourth, and so on… that was also unknown.

“Jan had shared company with Rolando for so long, and Rolando had dealt with Fullington as well, so it’s safe to say that during that period, Rolando’s personality was fairly mild, let’s tentatively call it the first personality. If Rolando were under the control of the first personality, it would likely be flawed and not immune to mental interference, otherwise, the second personality wouldn’t have chosen that time to emerge.”

In other words, Rolando’s first personality was actually the key to breaking the stalemate.

But the problem was, the first personality had gone dormant, and it seemed unlikely to resurface.

“Actually, the part that puzzles me the most is why his strength undergoes such a significant change after his personality transforms,” Sanders voiced his most confounding concern.

“Could it be like Greya’s situation, where this so-called second personality is just two souls inhabiting the same body?” Angel proposed.

Sanders shook his head, confident in his ability to discern whether it was a case of two souls in one body.

Rolando indeed possessed multiple personalities.

This made the nearly substantial increase in strength during the personality shift even more mysterious.

The Magical Core, could it really change along with the personality?

“How could such a thing exist? It’s not like there are two Magical Cores in his Mind Space, right?” Angel muttered quietly.

Hearing Angel’s mutter, Sanders seemed to think of something, “That kind of situation… realistically, it shouldn’t be possible, but what if there’s an intervention of an unknown force?”

Angel looked at Sanders, not understanding what he meant by “unknown force.”

“Have you ever considered that a grain of sand, a table, a house could Enter Dream?” Sanders suddenly asked.

Such a notion had never crossed Angel’s mind before; how could something so contrary to common sense exist… Yet, the Dream Conch had achieved just that.

“Does Mentor mean the interference of a Mysterious Object?”

Sanders did not directly answer, but instead reminisced, “Come to think of it, I’ve also performed spiritual interference on Rolando. When I tried to hypnotize him with the Art of Nightmare Illusion, I faintly felt a very subtle force.”

Angel: “The Mysterious Power?”

Sanders nodded, “That’s right, but Rolando himself is the master of the Crimson Authority, so I thought it made sense that he had a Mysterious Power.”

“But now that I think about it, the Mysterious Power I sensed seemed to be omnipresent, intricately connected with the Spirit Sea. It was very different from the Mysterious Power in the servants affected by the Crimson Authority.”

“I’m starting to suspect that this personality might have appeared because of the Mysterious Power,” Sanders tapped the tabletop lightly, a faint glimmer in his eyes.

Only a Mysterious Object, something that defies logic and breaks the normal rules, could create such an abnormality.

Angel: “The power of the Crimson Authority is to create puppets… Could it be that King Gumman has a second Mysterious Object?”

Sanders shook his head: “That’s very possible, but we also can’t rule out that it’s the work of the Crimson Authority, after all, Rolando is its true master, he understands the Crimson Authority better than we do.”

Sanders mused for a moment, set down his cup of red tea, and said to Angel, “I need to leave to confirm something.”

With those words, Sanders’ figure gradually blurred and slowly vanished from the Wilderness of Dreams.

…

In the dark, sunless canyon, within a closed space made up of geometric figures.

Suise faced a cage filled with Magic Power restraints. Inside the cage, a man sat on an iron chair, head lowered, his face was exceedingly ordinary, the kind that goes unnoticed.

But when he raised his eyes, his presence became immediately arresting! His lips curled slightly, one eyebrow raised, his eyes wild and sinister.

Even though a Silence Barrier had been set up around the cage, Suise felt as if a series of bold and arrogantly wild laughs echoed around his ears.

There were also those terrifying eyes, as if they could penetrate the heart and evoke the darkest desires.

Suise suppressed the urge to kill and looked away from the man. At the same time, he counted the time in his heart—37 minutes until Eulica would break free of the illusion.

The man trapped in the cage was Rolando.

Because Rolando could control the Crimson Authority, Sanders always took action to trap Eulica in the Illusionary Realm.

However, Eulica was escaping from the realm faster and faster.

If this were a few days prior, she could at least last three hours, but now, judging by the consumption rate of the Illusion Node, it was down to just over half an hour.

If this continued, just the crazed Eulica and the Crimson Authority in her hands would make things even more difficult.

Could it really be necessary to kill Rolando?

Just as Suise’s expression grew grimmer, sudden movement came from behind. Turning around, he saw Sanders, who had previously said he would “feign sleep,” unexpectedly open his eyes.
