Chapter 1307: Section 1308: Tullas’s Duel

More than half a month ago, Lyon used a pocket watch as his log-in device to enter the Wilderness of Dreams, where he had actually seen Jon. However, since the manor had just experienced a calamity, Lyon was preoccupied with the outside world, too anxious to have much dialogue with Jon.

But now, he was caught by Jon.

In reality, Jon’s body was very weak, hardly able to move, so he basically never left his hanging house. Yet, Lyon vividly remembered that when Jon’s health was still decent, he loved to lecture him and his brother for hours on end.

At that time, Pat was still around, and far from stopping Jon, he actually took great pleasure in the lectures. For Lyon, even recalling those moments could send shivers down his spine.

Now, the Jon in the Wilderness of Dreams exhibited neither frailty nor sickness and could run freely…

Lyon watched as Jon approached him, and his heart skipped a beat.

...
In the hour that followed, Lyon relived the fear he once felt under Jon’s dominion.

Floored by a technique known as “Endless Nagging”, Lyon couldn’t resist, especially since Angel was beside him, receiving instruction and seemingly enjoying it.

The indescribable suffering of Lyon was beyond words. His attempts to interrupt were all unsuccessful.

It wasn’t until he heard Shanni outside practicing her singing, yet didn’t hear Adar practicing the piano, as Jon muttered, “That darn kid is slacking off again,” before he hurried out, that Lyon finally escaped his agony.

“This is not the Wilderness of Dreams—it’s more like the Hill of Nightmares,” Lyon remarked with residual fear. Not willing to stay a moment longer, he turned and left the Marine Theater.

Lyon planned to bid farewell to this nightmarish world he never wanted to enter again, but as he was about to return to reality, a terrifying gale hit him in the face.

Lyon instinctively shielded his eyes.

When he regained his composure, he realized that the so-called gale didn’t exist; it was a large man, drenched in sweat and radiating heat, who had descended from the sky and landed in front of them.

“Pat, you’ve arrived just in time! Quick, quick, quick, there’s no time to waste, come with me!”

The moment he landed, the man showed an anxious expression to Angel.

Lyon watched the man in slight bewilderment. He was wearing an extravagantly absurd Bullhorn Helm, his eyes sharp and alert beneath it. His upper body was clad in a bizarrely designed half-armor that barely covered anything, with only the shoulders protected, the rest exposed.

What surprised Lyon the most was that the man had lost a leg, replaced with a sickle-like prosthesis that curved like a crescent moon.

The sickle was emitting a faint, chilling light.

“Tullas, I believe Frode will come looking for you in less than two minutes,” Angel said calmly to the man before him.

Tullas paused: “Ah, why?”

Angel pointed to the ground. Tullas probably leapt from a high building again, and when he landed, he gave no thought to cushioning the impact. The sharp sickle had gouged a small hole into the intricately patterned street floor, creating a web of cracks around it.

Frode often complained to Angel that Tullas’s fondness for not taking the usual path resulted in the newly laid roads being frequently pockmarked, which was a headache for the nascent city planning team.

Looking at the hole in the ground, Tullas chuckled sheepishly, patting the bullhorns on his helm and said innocently, “I forgot.”

“Fussing over these details is so pointless.” Tullas’s eyes darted around as he quickly changed the subject, “Pat, I’m about to duel with that charlatan claiming to be the Great Knight. It’s good you’re here, I want you to be a witness to me exposing that fraudster’s ugly face!”

Angel remembered the duel was supposed to take place months ago, but at the time he had to go to the Abyss, and Tullas had to leave the Wilderness of Dreams.

Tullas had been unhappy for days, believing the fraudster would be unbearably arrogant, claiming to the entire Originheart City that he had chickened out of the fight.

Angel thought that after such a long time Tullas would have let it go, but he hadn’t forgotten at all. As soon as he entered the Wilderness of Dreams, he started making arrangements for the delayed duel.

Angel didn’t have much interest in this belated confrontation. He had almost concluded that with Tullas’s strength, victory was certain, and that man’s pride would soar to the heavens.

He didn’t want to watch the guy’s smugness, but a direct refusal seemed somewhat callous.

Angel pondered his options, then his gaze shifted and he noticed Lyon, who was still dazed to one side: “I have some other matters, so I can’t attend. However, let my brother Lyon go in my stead as a witness. He was once a Knight, and now an Apprentice of the Bloodline side. He’s more suited than I.”

Angel said, pointing at Lyon.

Tullas finally noticed Lyon, scrutinized his muscular build, and nodded with satisfaction, “Are you Pat’s brother?”

Lyon nodded, about to introduce himself, when an angry voice erupted from nearby: “Tullas! How many times have I told you to be mindful of your strength? Do not damage the street surface! And yet you dare repeat this offense! Today, I won’t let you off without throwing you in solitary!”

“Darn it, Frode is here!” Tullas gasped in surprise, grabbing Lyon, “Let’s hurry, otherwise, he’ll catch us! Today is the day to prove my strength, I can’t be locked up!”

As soon as the words were out, Tullas grabbed Lyon and leaped onto a nearby rooftop, and in a blink, his figure had vanished.

“Wait, why do you have to drag me if you’re running! Why do I have to run!” Lyon, who had no choice but to run along as he was dragged, couldn’t help but shout.

“Didn’t Lord Pat ask you to be a witness? This is a duel between men, a battle for honor. Only a big shot can bear witness!” Tullas declared matter-of-factly.

‘Big shot,’ Lyon really wanted to decline, but he was also a bit curious about the duel, especially after witnessing the strength of the person before him.

After thinking for a while, Lyon sighed, “Alright, I’ll witness it. But let go of me first, I can run on my own.”

Tullas immediately let go, smiling cheerily, “Oh right, I’m Tullas, a great being who can kill Redbeard in a second. I’ve observed just now, you’ve got good muscles, that’s the beauty of a man!”

“I’m Lyon.” While introducing himself, Lyon was also observing Tullas’s movements.

Running across rooftops, he felt something was off with the strength in his body, as many forces were hidden and hard to unleash. But Tullas seemed to do it with ease, which made Lyon very curious about how he managed it.

Observing all the while, Lyon became more and more familiar with Tullas’s force application techniques.

At first, he felt a bit embarrassed, after all, secretly learning someone else’s techniques, but then Tullas seemed to pick up on this and, far from stopping him, he didn’t mind at all and went on to give one-on-one instruction.

After back and forth, Lyon gradually became more familiar with Tullas.

…

Angel returned to reality first and began his daily cultivation routine.

While Angel was cultivating, far away in the Flourish Continent at Barbarian Cave, they had just seen off a witch from Genoa.

In a red stone tower behind White Gull Academy.

The dim light flickered in the light wind blowing in from the window, causing the room’s lighting to vary between light and dark.

There, in the boundary of light and shadow, Wallace sat, allowing the lamp light and the darkness to create a chiaroscuro effect over his white robes.

He chuckled as he eyed a bulging Spatial Capsule on the cracked table, muttering, “Indeed, witches are rich.”

As he spoke, Wallace pinched the Spatial Capsule, causing it to burst open. In an instant, a great number of peculiar Demon Plants appeared on the table.

“Blue Tranquil Wood, Witch Flower, Flower Demon’s Honey… Eh, there’s even Eagle-catching Garlic Cage Grass, a rare Demon Plant. Boy, Genoa is indeed where Flower Fairies gather; they even have such rare plants from the outside world!”

Wallace’s face lit up with joy. When Rivetta had arrived earlier, he had pretended not to care and only glanced briefly, not expecting such a surprise treasure!

And this was just a part of it. Rivetta had already set a contract. After the new issue of “Glowing City Night Talk” was officially published, she would hand over ten percent of the net earnings to Wallace.

All Wallace had done was ensure that the news would be published in “Glowing City Night Talk” first.

“Let’s see, how should I use these things? Some as reserves for ‘Mirror’ magazine and some could be used as awards at White Gull Academy,” Wallace mumbled to himself.

Just then, a voice sounded behind Wallace, “Are you sure you want to use these for your personal gain?”

Without turning, Wallace curled his lips, “I knew you were there.”

As the words fell, a man who was completely bare except for a leaf strategically placed atop his important parts, sat across from Wallace.

“You making a deal with Rivetta, I don’t mind. Allowing ‘Glowing City Night Talk’ to publish it first, I don’t mind either. But the news comes from Angel, if you fully use it for your own benefit, aren’t you afraid that Angel will find out and you’ll sour your relationship with him?”

“Come on, Tree Spirit, don’t be so serious. I knew you were there, that’s why I was just joking,” said Wallace with a grin. “I’ll let Angel pick out of these Demon Plants first. Whatever is leftover, I’ll use it all for ‘Mirror’ magazine.”

The visitor was Tree Spirit indeed, and upon hearing Wallace’s words, he nodded, letting the topic slide. Then, changing the subject, he asked, “What do you think will happen after ‘Glowing City Night Talk’ publishes?”

Wallace: “It’s bound to cause quite a stir. After all, ‘Glowing City Night Talk’ has a much larger audience than ‘Mirror,’ and I’m certain that the people from Frostmoon will come knocking immediately.”

“But this can’t stay hidden forever; it was going to burst sooner or later anyway. If it breaks out now, at least it shows we’re transparent, and we can also quell the disturbances earlier.”

Tree Spirit: “Have you thought about how to handle it?”

“Don’t worry, I’ve already sent a Magic Pet to inform Sir Rhein, and he should be returning any day now.” Wallace said confidently, with Sir Rhein present, even if Monty himself came, there would be nothing to fear.

“It’s Sanders, that fellow, knowing such a big issue was going to arise, he just ran off with Angel first, sigh…”
