Chapter 1176: Section 1177: Sealing the True Name

The entire process was astonishingly calm, apart from a faint whiff of mystery, as though nothing had happened.

“Is it already a success?”

“It feels like nothing has changed?”

While everyone was puzzled, Nereus proactively flung himself to Aoluxiya’s side, and without any resistance, was pulled into the Nest of True Spirits by Aoluxiya.

Unlike the others around him who fell under the influence of the true spirits and became exuberant, Nereus stood calmly by Aoluxiya’s side with his eyes closed.

Minutes later, Nereus opened his eyes.

“I have destroyed one of the paths entering the Nest of True Spirits,” Nereus turned and spoke slowly.

Upon finishing, everyone’s eyes lit up.

To no longer be seduced by the power of true names, to have destroyed a path into the Nest of True Spirits, did that mean… the true name had been curbed?

Nereus nodded, “Aoluxiya’s true name has been sealed within the Nameless Scroll and won’t be influenced by the power of true names for a short time.”

“For a short time? How long is that?” Sanders suddenly asked.

Nereus glanced at Sanders, their gazes meeting in the air, seemingly sparking with electricity before Nereus turned his head first, saying in a low voice, “At least until all paths to the Nest of True Spirits are closed, Aoluxiya’s true name will not resurrect.”

…

In the Abyssal Depth, a distant void that can’t be measured by distance.

A pair of tremendous eyes slowly opened.

As the eyes opened, it seemed as if all things in the world began to burn.

“Eh, why can’t I feel its true name anymore?” The ripples of thought echoed in the void, “The true name has vanished into thin air, but why?”

Carrying doubt, the eyes slowly closed again.

…

How many paths lead to the Nest of True Spirits? According to Monty, there wouldn’t be too few, but also not so many as to cause despair.

Moreover, without the influence of true names, even an ordinary Wizard could destroy a path to the Nest of True Spirits.

One path, two paths… In a short time, hundreds, perhaps thousands of paths were destroyed.

The biggest contributor wasn’t humans but Komodo.

Not long ago, Komodo and Monty locked eyes. Although neither spoke, since then Komodo started to destroy the paths to the Nest of True Spirits with the other Wizards frantically.

“It made a deal with me. It wants the Primeval Flame, and I want Aoluxiya’s bloodline,” Monty stated indifferently.

“You agreed, Lord Monty?” a fire Wizard asked with disappointment etched on his face.

“I agreed,” Monty said, and he and Komodo once again exchanged distant looks.

Komodo snorted coldly and swung another punch at Aoluxiya, but before the force of his fist could reach her, Komodo itself was pulled into the Nest of True Spirits.

However, Komodo didn’t know that after it entered the Nest of True Spirits, Monty added, “However, I just agreed to give it the Primeval Flame. Whether it can take it away is another matter.”

With those words, the Wizards shared a knowing look, ceasing to mention the matter again.

Elsewhere, Fafnir relayed to Angel what the humans had said, “Binaqionse once said she had met a gentle human. Gentle? How could humans possibly be gentle? Look, humans are truly despicable, just like Demons—greedy and deceitful. Even promises witnessed by will can be exploited.”

After listening, Angel remained silent. In truth, it wasn’t just humans towards Demons—humans behaved the same way towards their own kind.

Otherwise, why would the renowned ‘Oath of Dingyuan Silentmark’ have been revised hundreds of times from its original draft to the present? It was like Earth’s entertainment games, where the earliest versions were crude, and countless players sought loopholes to exploit, forcing the operators to repeatedly update the versions, attempting to permanently close any gaps.

Driven by interests, humans are actually no different from Demons. On the contrary, some Magical Creatures, with their straightforward thinking, are easier to understand—such as Toby or the giant serpent Axo they had encountered in Poclades.

Angel silently watched Aoluxiya in the distance.

It was very busy around Aoluxiya now, everyone diligently working to destroy the paths to the Nest of True Spirits, coming and going innumerable times.

“Can this really destroy the paths to the Nest of True Spirits?” Angel asked.

Fafnir replied, “Looking at the current situation, with Aoluxiya’s true name sealed, it should be possible to destroy the paths to the Nest of True Spirits, and it should happen rather quickly.”

Angel didn’t ask further, but his eyes held a trace of worry.

If everything was as Fafnir said, going smoothly, that would be good. But Angel couldn’t shake a sense of unease, so many doubts remained unanswered.

For example, where was Popota at this moment?

Based on the information he had deduced before, it was highly likely that Popota was a Baiyuanian, and his target was also the Primeval Flame. But now, Popota still hadn’t appeared.

Perhaps, he was waiting in the shadows for an opportunity.

Popota was an uncertain element, and then… Angel’s gaze slowly drifted toward the distant ‘dark cloud.’ There, a dense mass of Demons all assumed a posture of bowing deeply, facing the direction of the night manor’s owner.

And the Night Innkeeper, still with his eyes closed, was enduring the final powers.

These demons, in fact, were also variables, especially Nitotipu and Yadasai. There was still no reason why they aided Aoluxiya before, and now, they appeared like mere spectators; why was this?

Further away, as flames began to congregate in the sky, the Void beyond the ‘Birdcage’ also revealed itself. Those figures peering into the Birdcage from the outside, brimming with malice, could they too become the ultimate variables?

Angel pondered a great deal, and at last he sighed heavily, shaking his head inwardly in self-mockery, “This matter itself has nothing to do with me; I’m not involved, nor do I have a stake in it… Even Lord Monty isn’t in a hurry, so why am I thinking so much about it?”

With this thought, Angel stopped pondering and instead focused on his breathing, closing his eyes in meditation amid the chaos, seeking to restore the magic power he had earlier expended.

Time quietly passed by.

Angel was awoken by a sudden outcry. Opening his eyes, he saw a vague sense of spatial distortion appearing in the direction of the top of the Void Tower.

On closer inspection, he noticed the Phantom Shadow on Aoluxiya’s body slowly disintegrating into particles of light.

The one who cried out, however, was Greerwu on the other side, who had been ignored by others. Its eyes conveyed urgency and confusion, occasionally glancing at Aoluxiya and then towards the distant Flame Demon Tandin.

Tandin also noticed the situation here. It was anxious as well, but it was entangled with Sinafa and unable to return to defend.

Aoluxiya’s True Spirit had broken through? Angel, looking at the gradually disappearing Phantom Shadow, finally affirmed his inner guess.

As the Phantom Shadow disappeared, Monty and Komodo simultaneously rushed toward Aoluxiya!

Now clearly visible, without the protection of True Spirit and True Name, Aoluxiya, still in an unguarded state, represented the perfect moment to be reaped!

However, just as they were about to reach the top of the tower, two figures suddenly blocked their path.

Nitotipu and Yadasai!

“Pitter-patter…” Nitotipu, with her umbrella, had transparent tentacles swirling beneath her dress, her eyes sparkling with a faint light.

Yadasai stood in front of Nitotipu, his bone armor fully unleashed.

“Nitotipu, Yadasai! Are you trying to stop me?” Komodo bellowed as it charged forward, but Komodo, greatly weakened, was consistently blocked by Yadasai.

Monty watched the two great Demons with a dark gaze.

“You can’t stop me,” Monty said. At that moment, Samantha, Issac, Nereus, and other True Knowledge Wizards took to the air, surrounding them.

“Whether we can stop you or not is one thing, but whether we should is another. After all, I’m not a fool like Komodo…” Nitotipu gently tossed her umbrella, and a dark cloud slowly gathered in the sky. Everyone’s gaze sharpened in anticipation of intercepting them, but Yadasai protected Nitotipu’s side, and for a moment, no one could break through Yadasai’s defense.

This time, Nitotipu’s raincloud was very small, covering only the area near the top of the Void Tower, even deliberately avoiding where the Night Innkeeper was.

Once the raincloud spread, Nitotipu said with a smile, “I must do what needs to be done. Otherwise, when Lord Galal arrives and questions me for my crimes, it would be rather unpleasant.”

Lord Galal?! Everyone caught a keyword from Nitotipu’s mouth—only a Demon that has ascended the throne could be addressed as a lord.

Did Nitotipu mean that a Demon Lord was about to arrive?

Everyone was stunned.

Just moments before, they had relaxed because it seemed the Night Innkeeper was not moving to act, but now they were being told that although the Night Innkeeper wasn’t acting, another Demon Lord was en route?!

The Night Innkeeper was a newly ascended lord; if a fight broke out, perhaps they still had a chance to flee. But Lord Galal, mentioned by Nitotipu, was definitely a seasoned lord, one whose strength had reached its peak, possessed wondrous powers, and who could also employ a complete Law Domain!

If they were to face such a Demon Lord, they would have no chance of escape!

“Galal is coming?” Komodo also froze for a moment. As a Demon, it knew far better than the humans the might of Lord Galal.

Previously, a mere decree from Galal had mobilized all seven Demon Lords of the Void Tower for Aoluxiya’s escort, even resolving to use the method of Void vibration.

But now, Galal himself was coming?!

“Komodo, you better think carefully about what you are doing.” Nitotipu’s voice once again reached Komodo’s ears.

Komodo shivered, pondering whether to stop. But at that moment, his mind buzzed as if countless whispers were in his ears. His previously somewhat clear thoughts once again plunged into chaos.

Externally, this manifested as Urdixinos and Minotaur’s Phantom Shadows becoming more distinct behind Komodo.

Clearly, the after-effects of Komodo consuming two Blood Cocoons were erupting again.

“Mine, mine, no one can stop me! The Primeval Flame will be mine!” Komodo suddenly raised its head, its eyes completely bloodshot, a violent red.

Nitotipu sighed softly at this scene.

Once Komodo became frenzied, it charged at Yadasai heedlessly.

Simultaneously with Komodo’s action, the humans also launched an assault on Nitotipu.

The battle reignited in an instant.

However, unknown to anyone, at that very moment, at the top of the Void Tower, only a wall away, a terrifying being resembling an alien, watched with greedy eyes toward the ceiling. It seemed to be able to see everything outside through that wall.

Behind it, numerous sinister, blood-red patterns shimmered.
