Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3348: Chapter 3349: Troop Type Showcase

Angel asked again where the body that constitutes the giant axe soldier came from?

Angel saw the brain worm for the first time, but this body resembling a ”giant troll” was also his first time seeing it. It looks like a giant troll, but upon careful inspection, there’s something a bit different.

Takiyana was silent for a moment, seemingly communicating with a scholar outside through the Heart Fire of her avatar.

A minute later, she gave an answer.

Her answer left Angel quite surprised.

Originally, Angel thought the body of the giant axe soldier was a magical creature captured by warriors of the Yingji Clan, but who knew this idea was completely wrong.

The body of the giant axe soldier is a kind of artificially cultivated body!

According to Takiyana, scholars of the Yingji Clan used special methods to extract blood meat factors from magical creatures’ bodies and then used these factors to cultivate a complete body.

When Takiyana spoke, she seemed bewildered, obviously just retelling without understanding the deeper meaning.

But upon hearing this method, Angel was utterly perplexed: Is the Ice Country... entering the era of cloning?

This sounds like biological magnification technology, also known as cloning technology as termed by Earth’s scientists.

Angel doesn’t know much about cloning, only glimpsing it in the holographic tablet, which seems to involve discarding egg cell DNA and combining it with the shell of an egg cell using somatic cell DNA for biological cultivation.

This is the so-called asexual reproduction cloning.

And this cloning method somewhat aligns with Takiyana’s description of using blood meat factors to cultivate a body.

Could it really be cloning technology?

Angel looked surprised, with a growing sense of mystery, and even Takiyana could see that Angel seemed to be contemplating something beyond the knowable.

Just as Angel’s thoughts were running wild, Laplace’s voice suddenly came through the Mind Ribbon.

”Are you wondering how blood meat factors can cultivate a body?”

Angel’s chaotic thoughts were pulled back into place by Laplace. He hesitated for a moment, nodding: ”It feels like quite an incredible technology.”

”Technology? Sounds like you want to learn?” Laplace asked softly.

Angel didn’t deny it; although cloning technology is documented on the holographic tablet, it’s akin to a ”certain encyclopedia,” only capturing a general idea without in-depth research. If there’s a chance to learn, Angel wouldn’t mind acquiring such technology.

If truly learned, a disaster like Nausicaa’s severed hand wouldn’t require searching for a suitable arm outside but directly cultivating a new arm through cloning technology.

Laplace noticed Angel’s interest; she lightly shook her head: ”Then you might be disappointed; this is not a technology.”

”Cultivating a body through blood meat factors—isn’t that a technology?” Angel was stunned, if not technology, then what?

To cultivate a single body, one would need to use biological magnification technology. Otherwise, how could one achieve asexual cloning?

While Angel was puzzled, Laplace softly said: ”To cultivate a body solely through blood meat factors sounds like an extraordinary tale. And such a far-fetched story, if not a technology, then what do you think it might be?”

Angel: ”If not technology, then it can only be an unknown power...”

At this point, Angel suddenly paused, as if he began to understand what Laplace meant. He abruptly looked up at Laplace: ”You mean... a mysterious object?”

Laplace nodded: ”Yes, I once heard that the Yingji Clan possesses a blood-related mysterious object. Unexpectedly, if they can mass cultivate biological soldiers, it should involve this mysterious object.”

The term ’soldier breed’ certainly doesn’t mean just one or two biological soldiers.

To ensure each biological soldier reaches nearly identical heights, simply hunting or capturing magical creatures is evidently impractical. Moreover, if over-hunting leads to species extinction, supply could be cut off.

Purchasing biological soldiers means tactical cultivation and war planning has already occurred; likely, such planning could span a long time. If supply suddenly cuts off, all previous efforts would be in vain.

From this perspective, the Yingji Clan, if intending to satisfy their buyers, must try not to cut off supply; or if necessary to do so, should issue notices well in advance.

Various details reflect that maintaining biological soldier breeds absolutely can’t rely solely on killing.

Without biological cloning technology, the Yingji Clan’s long-term output of biological soldiers can only be related to mysterious objects.

Laplace: ”If you don’t believe it, you can later ask Sipolov.”

Asking Takiyana is unlikely to yield answers because she herself doesn’t understand, and any scholar she consults probably won’t either; since their identities, to the majority in the Yingji Clan, remain mysterious. Core interests connected to mysterious objects can’t be casually divulged.

Angel nodded.

Even without asking Sipolov, he actually already believed most of it.

Furthermore, under current circumstances, perhaps even that brain worm is cloned...

If so, the Yingji Clan’s so-called biological modification research may all revolve around some mysterious object. Scholars need only indulge their imagination and initial abilities, with subsequent efforts contingent on the creation effect to determine whether large-scale production will be undertaken.

If this is truly the case, his previous thoughts on stealing some bio-modification knowledge from the Yingji Clan seem unlikely...

Takiyana was unaware of Angel’s turbulent thoughts; she remained dutiful in guiding Angel through the observation of other soldier breeds here.

After learning some ”inside information,” Angel actually lost interest in these biological modifications, but since Sipolov hadn’t arrived yet, he patiently continued to observe.

However, Angel no longer viewed combat-type breeds, instead, wishing to see the so-called ”auxiliary” and ”special operations” breeds.

In most realms of transcendence, offensive methods are often far more numerous than auxiliary ones.

The Wizards’ Realm is still alright, from tricks to spell techniques, offering many auxiliary methods; yet, auxiliary methods vary. Healing techniques for injuries is auxiliary, as is the Eye of Lawbreaking for piercing space-time truths.

The scope of auxiliary is vast, and Angel wants to know what assistance the breeds here will provide?

With curiosity, Angel examined three different auxiliary breeds.

They are: Baizhuo Treeman, Roaring Ice Bear, and The Flower of Tuhnia.

The Baizhuo Treeman can be understood as a medic, capable of releasing numerous restoration methods; ”Baizhuo” in the Yingji clan’s language is interpreted as ”absorbing the strengths of numerous families,” and indeed, Baizhuo Treemen live up to this. Scholars of the Yingji clan have transplanted a large number of organs capable of providing Life Force, allowing the Treemen themselves to be filled to the brim with Vitality, making them the battlefield’s primary healer. Their blood supply is ample, restorative power is strong, making them a Strategic Level unit.

They originate from the five-star research institution—Anatoli Laboratory. Even the Anatoli Laboratory finds it challenging to mass produce Baizhuo Treemen.

However, Angel is not particularly concerned with Baizhuo Treemen. As their designation ”Strategic Level” suggests, they are quite useful in warfare, but for individual use, they are somewhat of a waste.

Moreover, to fully leverage the Baizhuo Treemen’s capabilities, they need to remain grounded to the Earth. Wizard battles are not limited to the Earth; in fact, the Earth is the most restrictive environment for a Wizard’s combat abilities.

The Roaring Ice Bear, according to the tag posted by the Yingji clan, is a unit that combines combat and auxiliary capabilities. However, various clans generally do not purchase Roaring Ice Bears for combat, but rather for their auxiliary ability: Stunning Enemy Soldiers.

Its vocal cords have been specially modified, and each roar can produce a certain stunning effect on enemies in a wide area.

Stunning, on a grand scale, can disrupt one’s spirit; on a smaller scale, it can leave one momentarily bewildered.

For clearing out soldier rabble, the Roaring Ice Bear is quite effective.

Of course, they can also be used for riding, considered a special ”vehicle”? Yet, just like the Baizhuo Treemen, they are confined to the Earth.

As for the third unit, ”Tunea Flower,” Angel personally finds this unit rather interesting.

Similar to the Baizhuo Treemen, Tunea Flower belongs to the category of modified plant life; its shape resembles ”Walking Grass,” except the grass on its head is replaced by a flower on the cusp of blooming.

It has no combat abilities, and its mobility is very weak, but it possesses extremely powerful spiritual power.

By Wizard’s standards, its Mental Power Value is approximately 18; anything over 10 is considered a Talented One.

A value of 18 is already considered among the best of Talented Ones; even Angel’s initial testing did not reach such high values.

If strong spiritual power alone were the case, it wouldn’t amount to much; plenty in the Wizards’ Realm with high spiritual power ultimately don’t even reach the level of Intermediate Apprentice.

But what’s intriguing is that Tunea Flower’s Mental Power Value is linked to its abilities.

It has one particularly fascinating ability: when the flower on its head blossoms, it automatically generates a magnetic-field-like effect centered around itself. Within this magnetic field, all organisms undergo perception testing; those with spiritual power weaker than it will be affected, entering a state of amnesia.

As long as the magnetic field remains, the state of amnesia continues.

In other words, throw it into an ordinary battlefield, once it blooms, everyone turns into Empty-hearted People.

Even on an extraordinary battlefield, its effect can impact numerous Transcendents.

Its ability is remarkably overpowered on the battlefield; using gaming terminology, it is the absolute king of group control.

However, such a powerful unit also comes with a significant price.

Like Baizhuo Treemen, they are not sold openly, requiring ”sincerity” to discuss purchase with Senior General Oleg.

This trading method can be understood; such a powerful weapon is enough to counter even the Yingji clan.

Therefore, cautious selling is necessary to prevent the units from becoming weapons against themselves.

Among these three auxiliary units, Angel is undoubtedly more interested in Tunea Flower. However, when it comes to actually purchasing, he has no such intention...

That said, previously, Angel asked Takiyana whether these units have ”self-awareness.”

Takiyana’s response was: most do, but they possess extremely high levels of obedience, so there’s no need to worry about self-awareness becoming inflated and causing loss of control.

Takiyana believed Angel was worried about units betraying them, but Angel’s real concern was: ”If there’s self-awareness, might they be able to enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams?”

If the biologically modified units enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams, they may be foolish, but Angel is not concerned with their intellect. He is interested in the fact that these modified units contain a variety of organisms’ organs.

Possibly, they even have Dragon types’ organs.

If that’s the case, when they enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams, can they trigger the identification mechanism of Mist Isle Dragon Tomb?

Moreover, with so many transplanted organs, can they trigger other Immortal Realms within the Crystal Origin of Dreams? For instance, the Mirror Dragon triggered the Mist Isle Dragon Tomb, so upon their entry, would they also trigger related Immortal Realms, or even possibly trigger multiple Immortal Realms simultaneously with multi-organ possession?

Angel is very eager to experiment.

But at this moment, it’s certainly not possible; once the Log-in Device spreads, perhaps the Yingji clan can be persuaded to actively bring these biologically modified units to the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

...

Subsequently, under Takiyana’s guidance, Angel observed several units specialized in combat operations.

The units included insect-releasing Nest units, microorganism gas-releasing Fungus units, and Mole units capable of rapidly altering terrain...

These specialized combat units are even more varied than Angel imagined.

Indeed, some make Angel yearn.

For example, a unit named ”Nesting Ant,” whose architectural aesthetics and city planning skills simply outmatch Angel. Even a hundred Angels couldn’t compare to them.

The most important aspect is that their nesting aesthetics are innate...

If Nesting Ants work with Mole units, they can rapidly create a large array of buildings with reasonable arrangements both above and below ground.

A vast Underground City, an exquisite and grand Aboveground City... just the thought makes Angel envious.

The Crystal Origin of Dreams now stands in need of such architectural talents. Unfortunately, even if Mole units and Nesting Ants were to enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams, they couldn’t bring their abilities. So constructing cities in the Crystal Origin of Dreams in a short time remains unlikely.

However, their architectural aesthetics can certainly be used for reference.

Of course, although Angel is interested, he has no intention of purchasing; he still plans to ”free ride,” elevating persuasion to the agenda to have the Yingji clan bring the units into the Crystal Origin of Dreams...

After wandering around this private display space and seeing Angel’s lack of purchasing intention, Takiyana led Angel and Laplace to leave, preparing for the next venue.

Namely, the bio-modified weapons produced by the Valeri Laboratory.
