After spending three achievement points, Sheyan successfully upgraded his ‘Flu’ ability to lvl 4. Even so, the probability of inflicting sneeze, shivers, and headaches only grew to 11%, where each level merely upgraded 2%.

Still, a Rank S ability with 9 tiers undoubtedly couldn’t be discounted. When the ability ascended to level 4, a bonus property option was awarded.

[ A: Intervals of triggering ‘Flu’ negative effects lowered from 10 to 7 seconds ]

[ B: Increase ‘Flu’ contamination radius by 20 metres ]

[ C: Decreases ‘Flu’ outbreak timing by 3 minutes ]

[ D: Increase probability of sneezing, shivers and headaches by 3% ]

Sheyan then opted for option ‘C’, thereby lowering the outbreak duration to 7 minutes. Sheyan was extremely satisfied with this, and when the ‘Flu’ ability was upgraded to level 4, the branching skill changed to the term ‘Influenza’.

Following that, the nightmare imprint transmitted another notification.

[ You fulfill the qualifications to unlock the next tier of the innate skill tree. You can choose to continue upgrading your branch ability ‘Influenza lvl 4’, or initiate a new branch of ability ]

At present, Sheyan involuntarily reminisced about his experience in the Kijuju Marshland. Those Ndipaya barbarians didn’t possess outstanding offensive capabilities, yet with the assistance of various viruses, Reef and him were forced into a vilely unbearable state.

Right now, he cared more for broadening his range of virus infections. Thus, he selected to initiate a new branch.

[ Scanning host environment...gathering sample data... ]

[ Information gathering completed….analysis success….. ]

[ Note: Host can choose to be infected from this list of airborne viruses, and learn an advanced strain of the influenza virus ]

[ A: Bronchitis ]

[ B: Laryngitis ]

[ C: Rhinitis ]

[ Detail: Your choice of disease will influence the consecutive growth of the innate skill tree ]

[ Your choice of disease characteristics, its infectious rate and treatment difficulty will map the eventual virus ability effects, after the A-virus has duplicated and optimized it. Please select carefully! ]

[ This selection has no time limit. Please consider carefully before making a decision ]

After researching on some information, Sheyan roughly understood the specifics of the diseases. As such, he could roughly speculate the follow-up direction of the three branches ]

”For option A, the ultimate evolved ability should be the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARs)”

”For option B, most likely it will evolve towards the path of tonsillitis and then myocarditis and so on. For option C, it’ll probably advance to otitis media, and ultimately evolve to coxsackie virus leading to meningitis.”

Seizing that Brother Black was still present, and that the devouring, duplicating and optimizing mode of the A-Virus would still be active for close to 24 hours, Sheyan led the gang towards another hospital. He planned to advance the influenza branch while the iron was still hot. Although Sheyan couldn’t tell if he would succeed, it was still worth a try.

During the ride to the next hospital, Sheyan didn’t contemplate much but decided on option A – Bronchitis.

This time, he didn’t check up detailedly on web statistics or inquire of others. His reason for selection ‘Bronchitis’ was because while sailing in the past, Sheyan resided with an old sailor named Ha Lindun. The poor aged old Ha Lindun contracted chronic Bronchitis, and the sounds of his heart shredding violent coughs lingered in Sheyan’s ears for two full years. On the third year, he passed away.

Initially, Sheyan developed insomnia due to the disturbance of the coughing sounds. Yet in the end, he developed a psychological reflex whereby he couldn’t sleep unless he listened to the sounds of heavy coughing. This was all thanks to chronic bronchitis.

Therefore, it was understood that this particular ailment occupied a significant position in Sheyan’s heart. The trauma of two full years was certainly monumental. Thus, even after transforming into a powerful contestant now, Sheyan still selected ‘Bronchitis’ without hesitation.

Regrettably, Sheyan was defeated this time. His robust health successfully resisted the various viruses from invading....all the way till the precious 24 hours of the activated A-Virus whittled away, where Sheyan remained lively like a dragon and fierce as a tiger.

Thus, he could only wait for 7 days in vain in the real world, allowing the A-virus to finally reactivate its vitality drawing capability, before proceeding to take the trial of virus.

Of course, Mogensha didn’t leave during this period. Fortunately, nothing much happened, and even if something did, they could surely vanquish all troubles. Anyway, the weather here wasn’t as different, and he didn’t face any problems with acclimatizing. Thus, Mogensha treated this like an extended holiday.

During these seven days, Sheyan didn’t idle. While mutually swapping combat pointers with Mogensha, he also occupied himself with his concoction of gene-mixes. In the end, he unexpectedly managed to create two strange yet new gene-mixes.

The first concoction was – ‘Force of the Stinkbug’. Upon smashing it, it will first deduct 30 HP of the thrower, before unleashing a shockwave which deals 1.5 seconds stun to surrounding enemies. Noteworthily, other gene-mixes only induces a 1 second stun. Then, the resultant stink mist will lower enemies movement speed by 30% (other gene-mixes is 20%), with a bigger radius of 33%. Moreover, the duration would be extended by 50%. Furthermore, enemies who attempts to cast abilities in the chemical stink mist may have a 15% chance of failing due to being disgusted.

This was the fruit of his research on various tree insects. Such an insect commonly resides in Chinese Parasol trees would fart out extremely stinky gas upon being assaulted! Hence, its moniker amongst insects was also known as the ‘Fart bug’. Sheyan started researching on this due to realizing he didn’t possess a gene-mix specifically used for hurling.

Apart from that, Sheyan completely reworked his semi-completed mantis gene-mix. Instead, he introduced a new specimen into his experiment – the famous bullfrog.

The bullfrog gene-mix was rather identical to the mantis gene-mix, and couldn’t be blended with other gene-mixes. Instead, its consumption effect was rather peculiar – reducing user’s physique by 33%, but increasing his jumping distance by two metres and height by one metre, for a duration of 300 seconds. Furthermore, this gene-mix couldn’t be consumed consecutively and had a cooldown period of an hour.

Never ever belittle the enhanced jumping capabilities of this gene-mix. Though the effects seemed rather minute, on careful contemplation, it could be exceedingly frightening!

Let’s say if Sheyan could merely jump over obstacles of a metre high previously, then after consuming the Bullfrog gene-mix, he would be able to scale 2 metre high obstacles! As such, running in treacherous or complex terrain, regardless of pursuing or fleeing, there would definitely be distinct advantages.

Except, the consequence of consuming this gene-mix definitely wasn’t neglectable, costing 33% of one’s physique! To Sheyan, drinking it at optimal state would undoubtedly mean deducting 300 plus HP! To other opponents, as long as the power disparity isn’t that great, an invincible sniper could possibly unleash a fatal assassinating in one shot! Hence, one must be timely in utilizing this gene-mix, because drinking it while being pursued by others, could mean expediting one’s personal demise.

Meanwhile, Reef also conveyed a message, indicating that his progress pertaining to the soul equipment ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ was flowing smoothly. In about 2-3 more days, he would be able to lock onto Diaz’s descendant. Although Diaz’s name was recorded in history, World War 1 and 2 had been utterly terrifying and horrific meat grinders! Unfortunately for Diaz, his descendants had been drawn into the fray. That was why Reef’s search had been delayed till now. Furthermore, if not for his household’s long history and formidable influence, he may not even have been so efficient!

After several discussions later, and when Reef finally affirmed that Diaz’s descendant was residing in England, Sheyan decided to directly fly over and settle the soul equipment. This was because Sheyan was the one who accepted the soul equipment’s mission. Concurrently, he would deal with the ‘Bronchitis’ issue there.

At present, Sheyan could roughly determine his current circumstances. With his innate ability ‘Stronghold’, he should at least be able to support himself up to the 3rd tier of the innate skill tree before his life meets any fatal jeopardy. Of course, the prerequisite would be if Sheyan possessed an adequate amount of achievement points. Yet in reality, the remaining measly achievement points he possesses, apart from saving for his military rank, he could at most spare some to learn the ‘Bronchitis’ ability.

Three days later, Sheyan, accompanied by Reef, retrieved the dazzling ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ out from its case, and handed it to a tottering 89 year old granny. As she stroked down pearl case with trembling fingers, tears rolled down her cheeks.

Only at this moment, did Sheyan realize that the words Diaz left for his descendants was actually engraved onto the pearl case! After the old granny expressed her gratitude to Sheyan and Reef, she kept the archaic pearl case and gifted the golden pearl to them.

Thus, Sheyan obtained a soul equipment strengthened perceptive sense wondrously. Moreover, this soul equipment actually wasn’t soul binding, and Sheyan directly placed it into the party storage. Although when interacting with male lifeforms, the wielder would be influenced by 10 points of negative phantom charm, the 15 points of positive phantom charm would be exceptionally amazing when dealing with female individuals or creatures.
