The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1899: Chaotic Battlefield

Roars cracked.

Fangs and claws rend flesh.

Flunra watched the crimson wolves kill each other in a frenzy. Such a fantastic sight.

Dwelling in the art of the ancient runes had not led him astray. Being close with the royal werewolves in the past made him familiar with the nature of each royal werewolf. Each full moon. And now—with his new chasm of ancient rune inside his mind, he could do more with his power.

Much, much more.

Ancient runes or formations that normally would need hours or even days to prepare, he created within seconds. He is a machine of versatility. And having to live as long as he did, there are not many things out there that could surprise him.

In under a minute, thousands of crimson wolves died.

Killed by their own.

As long as these creatures entered the range of the golden goo’s scent, then they would be hypnotized.

Forced to use their claws on their kin.

”Flunra!”

A horned werewolf landed right behind, eyes glowing like magma.

Prince Alaric.

He finally came, along with a few Alpha Primes and a few thousand werewolves.

More are going to arrive soon enough.

”What is the situation?” He asked, but was stunned to see the chaos across the trench.

From the howl from Princess Selene and the situation around, he assumed a third party had gotten involved in the war between the Clarentium Empire and the rebellion forces. And from the energy and appearance these creatures took, it was easy to tell that it was the Blood Moon.

”Princess Selene—and the Silverstar Pack are fighting these things,” Flunra replied. ”If I had to guess, Empress Evelyn succeeded in subduing them, and the Lunirich Gods don’t like it. But that’s only my theory, nothing fixed. Now, these beasts are aiming to attack the capital city.”

Prince Alaric glanced to the side.

On the far distance where the trench ended, the crimson wolves were slipping through.

Even though the main body of the horde was distracted, the flanks were still charging ahead.

None even spared a glance at what was happening at the center, focused on reaching Dargena City.

Prince Alaric was about to howl.

He wanted to tell the Alpha Primes behind, along with the werewolves under them, to intercept the beasts that managed to slip through the blockade. Flunra raised his arm, gesturing for him to stop. No need to deal with the ones that got past.

”Focus on the main body,” Flunra commanded.

”And the ones that slipped through?” Prince Alaric’s frown deepened. ”I heard the capital city, Dargena City, is near the Dark Elf Kingdom. Between here and there, the only obstacles are the Dwarves and the Tigermen. Neither has the strength to stop even one of these creatures, much less thousands of them.

”They’ll be overrun before we can blink.” He added in worry. ”And where is the Royal Black Prince?”

Just from their auras alone, Prince Alaric could tell that each one was incredibly strong.

All of them are at the ninth-rank realm and climbing.

Nobody from the Dwarven Kingdom and the Tigerman Kingdom could fare against these foes.

”I already sent out instructions to them,” Flunra said without looking. ”As for the emperor, he’s not with us right now. It’s probably why the Blood Moon decided to attack right now. It’s solely up to us to stop this horde.”

Prince Alaric gulped.

Not even the might of all high-ranking Supernatural races combined could match the horde.

And yet, Flunra wanted only them to stop this.

It sounded impossible, but it doesn’t seem to be the case from Flunra’s perspective.

Roar—!

A crimson wolf leaped over the trench, snapping from the hypnosis, and launched at Flunra.

Prince Alaric threw himself into the creature’s path—and the two crashed together, tumbling across the ground in a violent knot of limbs and struggle. The struggle was brief. His claws found its throat, sank deep, and with a single savage wrench, he tore its head from its body.

Dead in an instant.

Blood soaked his entire body because of the bleeding fur.

He was drenched.

”Call the others, and have them make a formation behind a trench to intercept those who leapt over the trench,” Flunra commanded, noticing that the fragrant scent was weakening with time. ”Those who are stronger would follow me into the horde.”

”Into the horde? That’s suicide.”

”No. Just tell them to suppress their auras. Don’t use moonlight energy. As long as they couldn’t sense our auras, we can have a free rein to do as we wish. We can inflict more casualties by making them kill each other faster.”

Aooouuu—!

Prince Alaric howled.

It was a message to the others behind, and they immediately heeded his instructions.

”I’ll come with you.”

”No. You are the Prince of the Demon Moon.” The words carried the weight of expectation. ”Instead of fighting alongside us, your role is elsewhere. Widen the trench, half a mile on each side, left and right. Try not to die doing it. Once it’s done, I’ll stretch Princess Selene’s power to cover the entire length.”

Within a minute, the formation Flunra designed was immediately made.

A few thousand werewolves stood ready behind the trench, spaced wide to cover more ground—a few thin but deliberate lines stretching across a full mile. Any crimson wolf that shook off the fragrance and managed to leap across would find them waiting.

Together, they would butcher it before it could take another step.

Not too far away, Prince Alaric zoomed through the air and landed on the edge.

He activated the Demon Moon King Mark and stabbed his claws into the earth, widening the trench.

Flunra and roughly a hundred others held the very front of the formation. Most were Alphas, with only a handful of Alpha Primes among them. The majority stayed further back, reinforcing the line wherever it buckled.

In a one-on-one fight, only an Alpha Prime could reliably bring down a single crimson wolf.

The rest had to fight together, or not at all.

Under Flunra’s lead, the group of a hundred leapt over and spread across the chaos.

Rather than engaging the crimson wolves head-on or thinning their numbers one by one, the group tilted the scales from the shadows. In the chaos of the melee, they found crimson wolves locked in combat— with their own kind and helped.

A sliced hind leg here.

A killing blow delivered from a blind spot there.

A sudden trip at the right moment.

They never fought alone. They only finished what others started.

No need to get into the battle directly.

Just aiding one and then moving on to the next brawl.

Such a tactic was working. In a few minutes, hundreds of crimson wolves fell.

Crack—!

A thunderous crack reverberated throughout the battlefield.

Flunra stopped and looked skyward, watching the sky split open again. It wasn’t high above where the peering Lunirich Gods were. This came from the lower atmosphere, came from a silvery fog, and soon enough, something crawled out.

His pupils dilated at the sight of a titanic creature crawling out.

It was the size of a massive building.

Elongated and terrible snout; a furnace of hot breath and glistening dang. Silver eyes stared out, rivalling the shine from the Blood Moon. Fur rippled as liquid silver poured over the body. And multiple tails, dragged behind, and danced like they had a mind of their own.

Another summoned creature.

And for a second, Flunra thought it belonged to the Blood Moon.

It wasn’t.

Adhara flew over and landed right on its head as the monstrous fox broke the chains binding it.

Her purple fire crawled out of her body—shaping into a massive fiery serpent that wrapped around the fox’s body like a belt. Like a Goddess, Adhara looked down at the horde, and her eyes sharpened. She was displeased by what she was seeing.

Ignoring Kaiser and Meloriana, Adhara rode the fox higher.

She gave her back against the Lunirich Gods, and then roared, a command that the fox understands.

All its tails flared open at once—each one a gaping maw of gravity, drinking the energy throughout the battlefield like black holes with no bottom. The air screamed as it was devoured. Then, the silver lances formed. Shafts of condensed annihilation that hummed with such power, the Mortal Realm’s dimension groaned and splintered at the edges.

Flames enveloped each one, a personal investment of energy from the rider.

Adhara raised her arm, hand open—a gesture for the fox to be ready.

Underneath, Flunra immediately howled.

He called back the werewolves that were still among the horde, telling them to retreat.

At the same time, Adhara’s arm dropped.

Swoosh—!

The air screamed sharply.

A barrage of lances tore through the air with a sound like the sky splitting.

Each impact stabbed the earth with such force that the ground convulsed. The tremor rippled outward, shaking everything—bodies, bones, the very breath in the air. Growls and whimpers tangled together, rising in a chorus of suffering.

A requiem of agony sung to the broken earth.

But the lances didn’t stop there.

From Adhara’s vantage point above, the truth was unmistakable. Each lance had buried its energy deep into the earth, and below the surface, those energies had begun to connect—tethering together like veins of light through dark soil.

The glow bled upward, illuminating the ground with a web of tethered radiance.

One by one, they linked, forging a single colossal nexus that spanned a vast swath of the horde.

And with a gleam from the fox’s eyes, the lances detonated.

KABOOM—!

Silvery energy flattened the crimson wolves around it, and the flames burnt their bodies to crisps.

It was a devastating series of explosions that spanned a massive area.

Hundreds of thousands of crimson wolves were obliterated in a single, sweeping moment.

Their bodies ruptured into blood, then dissolved further—evaporating into wisps of Blood Moon energy that sizzled skyward. The vapor thickened into a crimson mist that draped the battlefield like a shroud, blurring every shape, clouding every gaze.

It was like seeing the world through eyes stricken with cataracts—distorted and drowned in red.

Flunra looked back at the destruction.

”Since when did she have this kind of ability?” He thought aloud. ”She should’ve used it often.”

Seeing the devastation, Adhara wanted to send another volley—that would’ve thinned down the horde even further, making it easier for Flunra and the werewolves to handle it. But she wasn’t given the time to do that again.

From inside the dimension pocket, a red light emerged from the crack.

It fired straight to Adhara and the fox.

Behind, a streak of black lightning followed, but it couldn’t catch up to the red light.

Boom—!

A massive shockwave exploded when the red light connected with the fox. The uncanny werewolf, fully empowered by the Blood Moon, knocked the fox and Adhara from the sky. He had been fighting a two-way battle, and the mistake he made allowed Adhara to decimate the horde.

Never again.

He wouldn’t make the mistake for the second time in this battle.

”Get up!” Flunra roared, snapping the werewolves from their trances—as the horde was coming again. ”It’s not over yet!”

Meanwhile, Prince Alaric ignored the noise and solely focused on what he was told to do.

It was hard—and his King Mark was throbbing from the amount of kingly energy he needed to exert in order to widen the trench, but he managed to do it. He raised his gaze, watching the passing crimson wolves with a troubled look.

As long as he wasn’t too close, they wouldn’t attack, so he was safe.

But he was still worried about this.

’Can the Dwarves and Tigermen even do this...?’ He thought dubiously. ’What can they even do?’

Just then, his eyes widened.

An energy pushed him on his shoulder.

No, it was the wind.

A rush of wind that slammed against him hard before the sound of a sonic boom.

Prince Alaric endured the wind and looked at the shadow that swam underground. He sucked in a cold breath when a creature emerged from underground, revealing a shadow with four glowing azure eyes. A trait that was unmistakable.

”Lord Kyran...” He muttered, realizing the reason why Flunra was not concerned about the crimson wolves that passed through.
