The Heart System

Chapter 847: Chapter 847

I walked toward the bathroom connected to the master bedroom, stepped inside, and flicked the light on. The door clicked shut behind me.

Kim had just finished her own shower. She stood near the counter, completely naked, water still beading on her skin as she reached for a towel and started drying off. When she noticed me she gave a small, knowing smile. I stepped in, smirked, and kissed her on the lips. She kissed me back without hesitation. As she moved past me to leave, she deliberately pressed her bare, still-damp ass against my half-hard cock and dragged it slowly across me before slipping out of the bathroom.

I exhaled and rubbed the back of my neck.

Then I stepped into the shower and turned the water on.

”Man...” I muttered as the warm stream hit my shoulders. ”I needed this.”

I stayed under the spray for a long time. I shampooed my hair thoroughly, working the lather through, then rinsed it out. I soaped up my entire body; chest, arms, stomach, legs, and paid special attention to my member, washing away the thick layer of dried cum, sweat, and the mixed fluids of half a dozen different girls. The water ran cloudy for a while before finally running clear again.

I just stood there after that, letting the hot water beat against my back and neck while my mind drifted.

Silk.

What Mana had told me kept circling back. Cora had killed me out of jealousy. Silk had somehow used her powers to rewind time or revive me. The whole thing still felt unreal, like something that had happened to a different person. I still didn’t fully understand what Silk was, or how much she had done for me without me even knowing.

I lost track of time thinking about it.

When I finally glanced at the fogged-up glass and realized how long I’d been standing there, I sighed.

”Jeez. Talk about wasting water.”

I turned the shower off, stepped out, and grabbed a clean towel. I dried my hair, my body, everything, then wrapped the towel around my waist for a moment before deciding against it. Still completely naked and with damp hair sticking to my forehead, I walked back into the bedroom.

It was empty. Everyone had already left.

I opened the wardrobe, pulled out a soft oversized t-shirt and a pair of comfortable gray sweatpants, and put them on. The fabric felt good against clean skin. Then I left the bedroom and walked down the short hallway toward the living area.

The other girls had already showered and changed into casual clothes. They were scattered around the living room and kitchen in various states of post-sex recovery, some on the couches, some drinking water, some just quietly existing.

Delilah was sitting at the dining table. She looked... off. A little pale. A little shaken.

The moment she saw me she locked eyes with me and spoke in a low, tight voice. ”Evan.”

I stopped.

”I think Ivy knows... about you and me.”

Oh, shit. Shit, shit, shit.

No way.

⟁ ⟁ ⟁

No, no, no, no. No way. Ivy knew about Delilah and me? Fuck. This was a disaster. There was no way I was coming out of this alive. Where would she even learn about it? Did she see us, maybe? Or... maybe she just sensed it? Delilah always told me that women had a sixth sense for situations like these. I didn’t believe her, of course. But right now, I was starting to doubt myself.

I was nervous. As nervous as one could be. She wanted to meet up the day after Delilah broke the news to me, and now, here I was, standing in front of her door, trying to find the courage to knock. Fuck, this was going to be bad. Really bad.

”Alright,” I muttered, taking a deep breath. ”I can do it. Okay.”

I knocked on the door and took a step back. I wanted her to be just outside, maybe having forgotten that I was coming over, but no. I heard footsteps coming from inside.

Well, so much for hoping. The easy part was done. Now came the hard part.

”Evan,” she said, her voice slightly strained. ”Come in.”

”Y-yeah.”

Well, I thought she’d slap me in the face right after opening the door. This was already going better than expected. Or, hey, maybe she didn’t want to make a scene in the hallway of the apartment building. Man, oh man, I hated this.

I stepped inside and closed the door behind me. Ivy stood in front of me for a few seconds, her arms crossed. Then she shook her head and turned around, walking into the living room. I followed behind her, not knowing what I was walking into.

”I wanted to meet with you because...” She sat down on the single couch. ”Of my mom.”

”Okay.” I nodded, sitting on the double couch across from her. ”W-what’s the, uh, what’s this about?”

”You and Mom,” she said, never breaking eye contact. ”Tell me what’s happening.”

”Uh...”

”Let me be more... open about this.” She corrected herself. ”Do you rent my mother a room in the hotel you’re staying at?”

”Huh?”

”One of my friends saw my mother with a guy. Dark skin, little scar above his left eye. She told me they were walking side by side into the hotel building. And knowing Mom, I KNOW she can’t afford a room in that fancy-ass hotel.”

”Oh...”

What? I knew exactly which guy she was talking about. It was one of the hotel valets. I forgot his name, but he was just a valet. She was probably parking Delilah’s car whenever she came there. Her friend must have confused the valet for being her secret lover. And since Delilah couldn’t afford a place in that ”fancy-ass” hotel, Ivy was suspecting me of helping her.

How could I salvage this? Shit, what would I say to make this okay? Admit that I was arranging a room for her mother to hook up with that guy? Nah, that would only make things worse. She thought I was playing behind her back. Well, I mean, I was fucking her mother, so that was already the worst part. But still.

”Uh... well, Ivy, so...”
