The Great Thief

The Stronghold War was quite suspenseful this time.

The question was where was Glory Capital going?

Although most players thought that Glory Capital already held too many Strongholds and it would already be an amazing feat if they could hold them all, if you knew a little bit about Sorrowless, you would know how arrogant and aggressive he was.

Naturally, Blood Red War Flag and Azure Guard, who had lost Strongholds in the last war, would likely stay quiet so that they didn’t lose anything further.

They were also likely to join forces to seize a Stronghold from Glory Capital, but it was hard to say which one. Most players thought that Strongholds most likely to be recaptured were the ones lost in Tanaris.

There was a saying, that people would get up at the places where they fell.

Lu Li and the others had nothing to worry about. He went to check the betting market. The odds that had been placed for Glory Capital to beat him at the Black Sea Coast were at 1.85. This was quite high, but the odds for the Grey Valley Stronghold were higher than 2 since it was bring run by the Life Alliance.

This also meant that if Glory Capital bet 100 dollars on them winning in Grey Valley, they would immediately double their money the moment they succeeded.

Lu Li hesitated and chose not to put bet on himself.

He wanted to stay away from forms of money-making that came from nothing. Otherwise, he could easily win the lotteries for the third round of the Stronghold War, which was the one involving the actual fight. If he bet 200 million on himself, he would probably make several bookmakers go bankrupt instantly.

Many players around him were participating and they were talking about earning a fortune from their bets.

Ruling Sword was a guild that had been created from scratch. Not only did they now have the Life Alliance, but they had also created several multi-millionaires.

Lu Li found out the results of the Stronghold bidding while farming for EXP. There wasn’t a single Stronghold in the game that wasn’t bid for, so there were attackers for all Ruling Sword’s Strongholds.

Glory Capital had finally chosen a Stronghold to attack, which put everyone’s speculations to rest.

Grey Valley’s First Stronghold would be defended by Ruling Sword and attacked by Glory Capital.

The Black Sea Coast’s First Stronghold would defended by Ruling Sword and attacked by Grand Hegemony.

Lu Li was speechless. Grand Hegemony’s cooperation with them had just failed, and now they were suddenly willing to change sides. Even with their ability and the fact that Ruling Sword had to defend three Strongholds, Ruling Sword had no intention of making it easy for them.

Lu Li killed the monster in front of him and sighed helplessly.

Since they were once an ally, this meant that Grand Hegemony had already studied Ruling Sword very closely. As such, they likely had the guts to try and attack them. Lu Li guessed that they had faith in their strength.

Who was it giving them this courage?

The last Stronghold was the one run by the Life Alliance and it was Blood Red War Flag that was attacking this one.

It looked like there were many players that were going to be sent to heaven. Weren’t they bored of dying all the time? They could achieve the same effect by jumping off a building.

Many players thought that Ruling Sword and Blood Red War Flag would fight together against Glory Capital. After all, an enemy of my enemy is a friend and Blood Red War Flag needed a strong ally to help them fight against Glory Capital.

Unfortunately, they all thought wrong.

It was true that they needed an ally, but it wasn’t Ruling Sword. If Lu Li’s guess wasn’t wrong, it definitely wasn’t just Blood Red War Flag who had come to attack him.

There was also pressure on Drizzle Court and Peerless City. Drizzle Court was defending two

Strongholds and was facing particularly strong opponents this time. Everyone seemed to be banding together for attacks, so it was hard to work out who was supporting the guild that was attacking you.

Everyone could only try their best to resist the strong enemy placed before them.

When it came to fighting, Lu Li did not dare to underestimate them. So once again, they had to focus their energies on defending. When would Ruling Sword become like Glory Capital, where they could attack whoever they wanted whenever they wanted?

What about keeping their Strongholds?

Lu Li thought about how the Fel Reaver was currently gathering dust in the Stronghold storeroom and the piles of Strengthening Stones that were around it. A sneer started to creep from the corners of his mouth.

If he wanted to get rich, he could just bet on himself to lose. He could make so much money that way.

Of course, if he really bet 200 million (assuming he had that money), there would be no one to pay him out, as the bookmakers would definitely run away afterwards.

Furthermore, the money he invested would affect the odds, so he wouldn’t ultimately wouldn’t profit as much.

“Sky Moon, I am giving you control over the Black Sea Coast Stronghold. Don’t lose it.” Wandering was going to the Life Alliance. He was already a member of the Life Alliance as Half-Life Crystal had given him the position of an elder. Occasionally, he would pull players out to train them. Lu Li had also given them a Fel Reaver which was reassuring.

As for Grey Valley’s first Stronghold, Lu Li himself would defend it against Glory Capital.

Everyone had already agreed in advance that they wouldn’t use the Fel Reaver unless it became an emergency situation.

The reason why trump cards were usually so effective was because they were unknown to their enemies.

Lu Li was facing the main force of Glory Capital, but it was difficult to imagine that they could send such a strong line up to attack Ruling Sword while defending six Strongholds.

Moreover, Ruling Sword was no walk in the park and Lu Li was one of Ruling Sword’s strongest players.

The Infernal he was looking forward to had not appeared, so Lu Li didn’t have the opportunity to unleash his Fel Reaver. The first Fel Reaver driver, Fat Monkey, was cursing the fact that he didn’t get a chance to play.

If you looked at the Black Sea Coast battlefield, it was clear that Grand Hegemony was really prepared.

However, the players that Sky Moon brought were much stronger. Some of these players were from Ruling Sword and others were from the main force of Judgement Spear.

Despite the fact that Judgement Spear had only been established for two months, there were already quite a few experts that were a part of it.

In addition to the original ones, two experts had recently joined. Lu Li was also surprised that these players liked Judgement Spear. After all, even if these players had joined Ruling Sword, Lu Li would treat them seriously.

The real battle was in Grey Valley’s second Stronghold.

Wandering had brought a group of elite players from the Life Alliance to defend an attack against a coalition between Blood Red War Flag, Wings of Dawn and Azure Guard.

This kind of battle was a classic.

The betting community called these battles a ‘war of trades’ and Wandering had also received the title of the trade dog. However, this time, the attackers were being sent to heaven en mass. Although they were reluctant to go at first, Wandering decisively kicked them away from his Stronghold.

Countless players lost a small amount of money. There were also many betting companies that lost money too.

Of course, there were a few lucky people that became millionaires overnight by just betting several tens of thousands on the right person.
