Supreme Vision Master

Chapter 744: Chapter 744: Preparing for the Worst

Thinking of this, Empress Dowager Yan Xi couldn’t help but feel a surge of dark hatred in her heart.

It was all because of that bastard Prince Ning!

The man had indeed put everything on the line!

And now it has brought her to a point where she could neither advance nor retreat.

If not for this, she would not have...

The image of Old Master Luo surfaced in the heart of Empress Dowager Yan Xi.

The day she ordered Old Master Luo and Luo Qingtong to be sent away, she couldn’t bear to part with them and followed them in secret.

But in the end, she didn’t catch up.

She did not even know where they had gone!

Empress Dowager Yan Xi secretly searched all the surrounding passages, yet found no trace of them.

Perhaps they were utterly disheartened and had left this place with new identities?

With her granddaughter’s abilities, it was indeed very possible.

Thinking this, the Empress Dowager’s face instantly darkened with sorrow.

This might be for the best...

They wouldn’t be caught up in this entanglement, and without them, she would have... no more concerns!

Empress Dowager Yan Xi pursed her lips tightly.

”Prepare for the worst! If it truly comes to that... I will follow suit in death! The foundation of Great Chu cannot be severed on our watch, and it certainly cannot fall into Dayong’s hands!”

Without her, the Empress Dowager, Dayong’s conspiracy would naturally be unable to succeed!

”Empress Dowager, you must not!”

Upon hearing this, all the courtiers were shocked and immediately cried out in protest.

”Empress Dowager, you must never even contemplate such a thought!”

”Without Your Majesty in the palace, how can we protect the young emperor?”

”Empress Dowager! You mustn’t!”

”Yes, Empress Dowager! If you are gone, the foundation of Great Chu would be as good as destroyed! Dayong, if they fail this time, will sure try again. Without you, how shall we cope?”

”Empress Dowager!”

A group of people knelt down on the ground, wailing and pleading.

”We will discuss this when the time comes...” Empress Dowager Yan Xi’s eyes slightly closed, her complexion weary.

She herself did not wish for it to come to this.

But if she did not, Great Chu might not survive this ordeal, let alone a next time!

Such a calamity of state!

She had received great grace from the late Emperor, she must not let the foundation of Great Chu end in her hands!

Meanwhile, at the Great Chu Holy Capital, where the people of Dayong Sacred Dynasty were staying.

”Seventh Imperial Uncle.”

The Seventh Prince of Dayong had just returned to his room when he suddenly heard a voice.

He looked up to see Feng Yuan sitting at the table in the outer room, holding a blue and white teapot, slowly pouring tea.

”Has Imperial Uncle just returned from the Great Chu Imperial Palace?”

Feng Yuan tilted her head, looking at the Seventh Prince of Dayong, her face faintly smiling as she spoke.

”Haha! Yuan’er!” The Seventh Prince of Dayong burst into laughter as he approached.

”Indeed, Imperial Uncle has just come from the Great Chu Imperial Palace! Humph! That Empress Dowager Yan Xi, refusing the wine of respect must drink the punishment wine! I personally went to visit, and she only granted me one audience before trying to dismiss me!”

”She has no idea of the predicament she’s in! How much longer does she think she can keep up her grandeur!”

The Seventh Prince of Dayong spoke coldly: ”I was considering her decent looks and was prepared to spare her life when I took over Great Chu, but now it seems there’s no need!”

”Ungrateful thing!” He snorted coldly.

”Empress Dowager Yan Xi of Great Chu is cunning and not weak in power.” Feng Yuan looked at him, her tone calm, ”If Imperial Uncle desires women, your niece will naturally find them for you in the future, what kind do you not desire? It’s better not to spare such a calamity!”

As she finished speaking, she gave a clap of her hand, and suddenly a girl who appeared to be only five or six years old, wearing a gauze dress, shyly walked in from the outside.
