Supreme Devouring God

”Senior Sister Yun, did you see that?”

Dao Xiaoyao looked at Qin Chen, who was causing a stir in the Inner Hall atop the battle platform, a brilliant smile appearing on her delicate face.

Yun Xianyi, standing beside her, was completely stunned.

Her gaze was complex as she stared at Qin Chen, then glanced at Huo Lianjing who had fallen off the battle platform.

Even though the truth was right in front of her, she still found it hard to believe.

Huo Lianjing actually lost?

Lost to a nineteen-year-old crazy guy who seemed to come out of nowhere?

She had always claimed Qin Chen was naive.

So, was Qin Chen really naive?

At least at this moment, Qin Chen used facts to refute Yun Xianyi’s notion.

Another beautiful figure, Yian Jingyao, stood there.

She remained unmoving from the beginning to the end, and no one came to challenge her.

At this moment, seeing Qin Chen defeat Huo Lianjing, even her always calm eyes finally showed a ripple.

It was a hint of surprise and curiosity.

”Senior Brother Qin! You’re amazing!”

Su Yun ran up to Qin Chen, overwhelmed with excitement.

Earlier, he even thought Qin Chen had lost, but unexpectedly, Qin Chen was able to stage a desperate counterattack and defeat Huo Lianjing in one fell swoop.

”Impressive!”

Mon Tianran also came over, expressing deep admiration.

Qin Chen’s face broke into a smile, he glanced at Huo Lianjing who was lying under the battle platform: ”Challenging me?”

As his words landed, his lips twisted into a mocking curve.

Huo Lianjing remained silent, his expression gloomy to the point where it seemed water could drip from it.

The entire Huo Clan’s spectator stands were completely silent!

The atmosphere had plummeted to freezing point.

This year’s ranking competition, their Huo Clan’s reputation and honor were completely lost!

They had hoped to rely on Huo Lianjing to regain some ground, but they didn’t expect their last hope, Huo Lianjing, to also fall!

”Um... if you don’t mind me asking, do you have any other matters to attend to? If not, I would like to issue a challenge.”

At this time, a monk in simple robes carefully approached Qin Chen.

Qin Chen blinked, then realized, and immediately gave an apologetic smile: ”Sorry, I’ve interrupted you twice now.”

The speaker was Jing Kong from the Golden Buddha Temple.

Having said that, Qin Chen stepped aside.

Jing Kong then shifted his gaze towards the Nine Desolate Sword Sect, his eyes finally landing on Si Luoyi, and he blinked: ”I challenge you! Come on out!”

Si Luoyi was taken aback: ”You’re challenging me?”

His voice brimmed with surprise.

Even Qin Chen cast a curious glance over.

Si Luoyi wasn’t an easy opponent; he was an absolutely powerful combatant with the potential to rank in the top twenty!

Jing Kong was one of the few combatants left on the battle platform not belonging to any of the major forces, yet he chose to challenge Si Luoyi instead of weaker opponents?

What was he thinking?

”Yes, you!”

”Of course, if you’re afraid, you can refuse.” Jing Kong said calmly.

Si Luoyi felt like laughing.

Refuse?

”Do you know who I am? You dare to directly challenge me by name?”

Si Luoyi squinted at Jing Kong.

He saw Jing Kong’s challenge as a form of disrespect!

Why not challenge others, but him? Did he look easy to bully?

”I don’t care who you are!”

”Are you going to fight or not, what’s with the fuss?”

Jing Kong retorted, his tone slightly irritable.

This left Qin Chen rather surprised.

Weren’t monks supposed to be as calm as still water and unperturbed by change?

Why did this Jing Kong seem even more volatile than us martial cultivators?

”Do any of you know him?”

Qin Chen asked.

Li Linfeng raised an eyebrow slightly: ”I don’t know much about this person, but I do know some about the Golden Buddha Temple.”

”The Golden Buddha Temple is also a thousand-year-old temple with a long history, one of the few Buddhist forces in the Great Origin Dynasty, and the foremost Buddhist force within the Great Origin Dynasty.”

”However, the Golden Buddha Temple has always stayed out of worldly affairs, so why this time did they send a disciple to participate in the ranking competition? And this disciple, to be frank, doesn’t quite seem like a Buddhist disciple.”

Indeed, he didn’t!

What Buddhist disciple would act like Jing Kong?

”This person is rather interesting.”

Qin Chen’s lips curled up slightly.

Si Luoyi’s eyes instantly shot out a sharp Sword Qi.

How dare he speak to him like that?

Just a mere nobody, what arrogance!

”I accept your challenge!”

”Within three moves, you’ll be off the battle platform!”

Si Luoyi was already suppressing his emotions, now how could he withstand such provocation from Jing Kong?

Jing Kong blinked, twirling the Buddha Beads in his hand: ”Oh? You’re so confident? What if after three moves I haven’t left the platform, wouldn’t that be embarrassing for you?”

”Flowing Fire Flying Glow!”

Si Luoyi had completely lost patience to banter with Jing Kong.

He drew out his Primordial Artifact, an exquisite Top-grade Heavenly Origin Weapon called the ’Phantom Sword’, and with one swift move, it glided like a phantom, incredibly fast.

Si Luoyi infused his Elemental Power into the Phantom Sword, causing it to emit specks of firefly-like light.

He executed his specialty, the Flowing Fire Sword Technique, a Mid-grade Heavenly Martial Art level swordsmanship which, when mastered, could rival an Upper Grade Heavenly Martial Art.

’Flowing Fire Flying Glow’ was the second move of this sword technique.

”Why the impulsive rush?”

Seeing Si Luoyi charge at him suddenly, Jing Kong pursed his lips in dissatisfaction.

Then he tossed away the Buddha Beads in his hand, with a step of his feet, his figure soared into the sky.

Those beads were actually some kind of wondrous item akin to a Flying Elemental Artifact!

Elemental Power surged from Jing Kong’s feet into the beads, causing the small bead-like items to instantly expand into a massive Buddha orb ten meters in diameter.

”Bang!”

Si Luoyi’s strike directly stabbed at the Buddha orb beneath Jing Kong’s feet.

But the surface of the orb remained unscathed, obviously, it was a Supreme Treasure.

”First move passed, two more to go, keep it up!”

Seeing Si Luoyi’s first move miss, Jing Kong cheerfully taunted Si Luoyi.

”Boom!”

How could Si Luoyi tolerate such mockery?

Upon hearing those words, an eruption of fury within him burst forth like a volcano, turning around, he swung his sword directly at Jing Kong.

”Flowing Fire Celestial Star!”

The crystalline glow on the Phantom Sword turned into starlight, speck by speck, swirling around the sword.

With one slash, it sent out a colossal Sword Qi over twenty meters long.

”Eh? Are you angry?”

”No need to be angry! Stay happy, that’s what’s most important in life!”

Jing Kong saw Si Luoyi’s face twisted with anger, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.

With a seemingly earnest advisory tone towards Si Luoyi, he spoke.
