210 Successfully Signed the Contrac
Stunned, Dai Yu had stumbled on the sentence when translating it to Chen Fan.

The young translator, who had a very good look, was a confederate of other companies.

Is this translator trained in the Northern Movie performance school, too? Wondered Chen Fan.

”Well, I’ll add it, and then you don’t have to. Anyway, our purpose is to make trouble, so would it make any difference who adds it? Just do it!” Chen Fan whispered.

The young translator smiled and said, ”I don’t care if you have a company that pays you a penalty.”

”Haha, well, since I came to make trouble, would I still care about that little penalty?” Chen Fan lowered his voice and raised the sign on his hand.

”Hiss is he insane?!” All of the others at the auction were stunned by his extravagance.

Oil was a commodity that is second in importance only when compared to electrical energy, and if he bought it, even if international oil prices continued to rise, he also absolutely could earn plenty of money.

Has he predicted that oil prices are likely to rise significantly over time? The people wondered...

Come on, if he had that foretelling gift, he could go to the international market to copy futures and predict winnings, as one knew you can get ten times as much money with such insider leverage!

Unless... Unless he’s a troublemaker!

”Mr. Seventeenth, bid once!” The staff in the front yard were so nervous, that they swallowed their saliva, thinking that, if this guy were to cheat, his staff bonus would be all over!

Obviously, the rest of the group focused on the twenty-ninth bid, hoping he would have a great battle here. Even some of the most isolated people wondered if the two young men would struggle in the auction.

”I give up!” His voice was soft, but it spread far and wide in the silence of the auction.

After waiting for a moment, the staff member announced the 17th as the buyer.

”How... What to do?” Dai Yu quietly tugged at a sleeve, embarrassed. ”Do you think the staff here will button me up?”

”Rest assured, this is a legal society!” Chen Fan did not have a ”disaster” instinct, so he crossed his legs in leisure, until the staff on the stage came to the door, when only then did he resume a serious appearance.

”Dear Sir, may we come and discuss the contract now?” The executive officer in charge of the meeting, Goro Oto, walked up to the two and smiled unquestionably.

His smile was standard. The two standing behind him were wary, only it was hidden by the professional smile they were, which had been trained into them for a long period, and was not easy to spot. It was not surprising that they were not surprised, for it was not a frequent happening, but neither was it unusual per se.

At that moment, the bodyguard Mike, who was standing beside the wall, also came along. Although he smiled with an honest smile, a bear was still a bear, and he could still make people’s hearts palpitate with nerves.

Only the boss and the secretary had seats in the auction, and so he had to stand over by the wall, and now, the action was almost at the end, so of course, he came forward.

”Dear Sir, do you think we... ” Goro Ota was visibly relieved. He was definitely a very rich man, since he brought a bodyguard, so he could not surely be a troublemaker. After all, why would a boss come himself to make trouble?

”We can sign it now?”

”Yes, yes, we have a signing party at noon!”

”Forget the party, just do the signing!” Chen Fan stood up with a smile. ”I have something else to do. I’m afraid I can’t go to the party at noon!”

”Ah, that is very regrettable!” Goro Ota sighed with a false sigh.

The signing ceremony could be very complicated, or it could be simple. For example, the United States and Russia, directly concerned with nuclear disarmament, have gone through decades of negotiations, so their signings are quite complex!

Simple signings should be what classified this one now...

”How long would you like to take when signing this agreement, Mr. Kate Rozanne?” On the ninth floor of the small meeting room, Goro Ota sat at the table, after waiting for Chen Fan to see the proposed contract, then said with a smile, ”According to the rules, you can sign for a minimum of half a year, and the highest oil contract is for a year. After the contract expires, you have the right of priority and can renew the contract.”

”Six months! I have a few requests for it, and want to list them on the formal contract later,” said Chen Fan, who opened his briefcase and took out the copy of the newly released blue international trade leather company.

”Yes, please!” Goro paid his attention.

”First: the agreement of 50 ℃ 6.28 mPas low sulphur crude oil viscosity can’t change. That is to say, I must have the seven new oil well yield of crude oil. After all, different types of oil have different prices and different ways of refining them.”

”Second, I am a person who pays great attention to integrity, so if we show up, regarding payment, crude oil extraction and delivery time delay, all of this must be paid high liquidated damages if occuring.”

”Third, we do not have the right to terminate this contract alone, until a total of 78 million barrels of crude oil is completely delivered, which is half a year’s supply of crude oil, or a mutual agreement.”

”Sure, sure!” Goro nodded his head repeatedly, and then asked earnestly, ”How much do you want the penalty to be?”

The contract of sale and purchase had a penalty clause for overdue delivery, and the percentage of the total amount of overdue delivery was to be paid for each day overdue. There was no hard and fast rule on the law, as long as the general price is not more than the total value of the goods.

But even more than that, in most cases, the arbitration will still be awarded. Because there are often situations in practice, in many cases, hard and fast rules cannot make up for the loss. So, it is necessary to allow the parties to make up for the deficiency of some statutory liquidated damages by stipulating high liquidated damages.

For example, if the two sides were trading soybeans, but then suddenly the soybean prices of the international market increased drastically, and the penalty fee of the breach of contract is too low, even they do not deliver the product, they could pay for the liquidated damages, and they could also earn big money selling the soybeans to others! Generally speaking, the contract is valid if both agreed to it, and one doesn’t break the law.

”The maximum amount of liquidated damages is 200 percent of the total amount of the deal, and 20 percent of the compensation is charged for each overdue day. If the deal is still not complete after 10 days, the next round of deals would be continued.”

”There is no problem in the first and third, but the second penalty is a little more... ”Goro Oto said embarrassedly, while rubbing his hands. ”Although our rig adopts the current, most advanced technology in Japan, the possibility of a major accident is very small, but this possibility, is still not impossible... ”

”As you say, there is still a possibility of a shipwreck, when my tanker goes there.” Chen Fan laughed. ”What is the risk in this world? Not to mention the price of this action. Everyone understood that the risk is very high, and I will take more risk than you, so in case you are late again, wouldn’t I be the one losing money?!”

”Haha,” Goro Oto gave out a hollow laugh and did not refute his words. ”Who asked you to pull your head off and bid a high price? But then again, if you didn’t bid so high, they wouldn’t care to accommodate you! So, how about this? Let us discuss for ten minutes!”

”Sure!” Chen Fan nodded. ”But two hundred percent of the penalty and ten days due is my bottom line. I will not make any concessions!”

The other person in charge of the opposite side pulled to the side to whisper, as Chen Fan hit Dai Yu, who had gotten emotionally carried away, and said playfully, ”You look like you have just seen a ghost!”

”Scared by your weird way of dealing!” Dai Yu was sulking.

”I was going make the deal, so I just had fun just now! You, as a psychologist, can’t even see that?!” Chen Fan shook his head.

”Who has the time to think of anything else? You didn’t pay attention, when you went upstairs. The young man saw you sign with the organizer, and his eyes popped out!” Dai Yu rolled her eyes and said in an unhappy tone.

”No pressure at all!”

When both of them were talking, Goro Oto, who had been discussing something secretly in the corner, came back to the negotiating table. ”We agree to your request, so if no more problems are here, is it possible for you to sign the contract now?”

”Sure! But I want three contracts, in English, Japanese, and Chinese.” Chen Fan readily agreed.

”Please wait a moment, while I get the legal department to write a formal contract!” The official language of Kenya is English, and the man was an overseas Chinese. Hence, he didn’t feel any problems with this request.

After half an hour, a worker handed the contract that had just come out of a laser printer to the negotiating table, Chen Fan looked closely again at the Chinese edition, found that there was no problem, and took out a pen, then signed down the name Kate Rozanne.

”Wish us a happy cooperation!” After signing, Goro Oto was unable to hide the excitement of his face.

”Happy cooperation!” Chen Fan shook hands with him quietly, then pulled up his shoulders to make a confident smile.

”Haha, such a high price, I will see how you make money?”

”Haha, such a high price, you would be broke paying for it!”

The two of them bantered back and forth, each with his own ax to grind!

......

At two o’clock in the afternoon, Mike, the black bodyguard, filed the case in the court, proved the legal documents of this contract, and returned to Chen Fan.

”When are you going home?” In the luxurious guest room at the top of Shangri-la, Dai Yu asked casually.

”This evening!” Chen Fan put his hands behind his head. ”How about you? Are you going to develop here, or go back?”

”Go back!” Dai Yu’s facial expression sank a little, and she pushed the glasses on the bridge of the nose back a bit. ”Wait for a degree certificate, as I am ready to open a psychological consulting room in China.”

But Chen Fan’s words made her little homesick feelings disappear, as goosebumps grew all over her, and she had chills.

”A psychological clinic?” Chen Fan exaggerated. ”No way. The person, who goes for psychological consultation, certainly has psychology problems, and that is very serious. You, as a girl, are you not afraid to meet those in a certain aspect of such an abnormal condition?”

”What do you know about psychological counseling?” Dai Yu stared, as she would not need to guess to know that the certain problem he was mentioning would not be a healthy one!

Chen Fan did not understand, and simply shook his head.

”Psychological counseling and psychotherapy are two separate things. It is the analysis and consultation of psychological and emotional problems. This usually involves emotional frustration, interpersonal conflict, lack of confidence, marital conflict, etc. There is no such thing as any of the underlying psychological barriers, such as fetishism, depression, persecution, paranoia, etc. involved.”

”I thought it was either some profound thing, or something to enlighten others? I can do this kind of work, so maybe it will work very well.” Chen Fan was very disappointed.

”Forget it, it seems like talking about Shakespeare to an illiterate.” Dai Yu had a not-so-subtle subtle, somewhat biting response.

”Hump!” Chen Fan rolled his eyes. ”Want to know why I spend so much on oil?”

”Why?”

’I won’t tell you!” He purposely made her keep guessing.
