Stealing Spree

Chapter 2816: Moving to the next destination

While Ria and Eimi rested on the sofa, I stood up to check on Akane and Anzu-nee in the kitchen.

As I expected, their eyes immediately narrowed upon seeing me approaching them from behind.

I could see the amusement and sternness from them, which told me they caught me in something shameless.

”Husband, how was it? You took your sweet time ’checking’ on Ria-chan and Eimi. I hope you pampered them well.” She said, turning from the sink with a soapy sponge in one hand, her apron still tied neatly around her waist like she’d been the picture of domestic bliss the whole time.

On the other hand, Anzu-nee clicked her tongue as a wry smile tugged at her lips. ”Shameless brat. We heard everything. Well, not everything, but enough to know you three weren’t exactly whispering sweet nothings. The living room isn’t soundproof.”

I rubbed the back of my neck, playing up the sheepish act even though the grin creeping onto my face probably gave me away.

”What can I say? Ria wanted extra pampering for her birthday. And Eimi... well, she also deserved to be pampered. I mean... you two also deserved more. Your surprises meant a lot to me.”

Anzu-nee’s face immediately turned crimson as she blurted out ‘shameless pervert’ while Akane let out a sweet laughter that told me how satisfied she was with my reply.

“Good. But I’ll get that pampering later at home, husband. What about you, Sister Anzu?”

Passing the baton to the older girl, Akane watched with that knowing sparkle in her eyes as Anzu-nee rubbed her legs together as if remembering what we did earlier.

And with that, Anzu-nee clicked her tongue again, avoiding my gaze as she busied herself with wiping down the counter one last time.

”Don’t look at me like that, Akane-chan. I already... got mine upstairs. This brat’s got enough energy for all of us, but I’m not jumping in the middle of the kitchen for round two... Unless...”

Her voice trailed there but the way her eyes shifted back to me told me what she truly wanted to say.

Unless I ask her for it, right?

I stepped closer, sliding an arm around Anzu-nee’s waist from behind and pulling her back against my chest before she could protest. She stiffened for half a second, then melted into it with a reluctant huff. ”Anzu, you know how insatiable I am. If you want more, all you have to do is say it. No need to play the responsible one all the time.”

“S-shameless brat. No. Shouldn’t you be exhausted by now?”

Well, she’s not wrong. Not counting the morning when I had to deal with the side effect of the miraculous tea, I’ve already released enough that would leave a normal guy limp for the rest of the day. And we’re still just halfway through the day. The thought alone made a low chuckle rumble in my chest as I tightened my hold on Anzu-nee from behind, feeling her body press back against me instinctively despite her half-hearted protest.

Anyway, I spent a few more minutes alternating between the two girls until they finished what they were doing.

Once that’s done, we gathered back into the living room just for a little bit of extension before preparing to leave with Ria and Akane.

Eimi stretched with a satisfied yawn, glancing at the clock. ”Well, we should probably wrap this up soon. Nee-san has to go help at the restaurant later and I don’t want to keep splitting Ruki’s attention from you, birthday girl.”

“What are you saying, Sister Eimi? I’m the one tagging along to whatever Dumb-senpai planned today. It doesn’t matter if the other girls demand his attention.”

“Are you sure? You know Ruki as well as I do. And it’s your birthday, I doubt he’ll keep sidelining you when you’re next to him.”

“Oh... That’s true.” Ria sheepishly grinned as she glanced up at me.

I responded with a flick on her forehead before pulling her back into my arms, “Mhm. You’ve already turned the tables on me with your surprises and chocolates. Don’t forget that this is your birthday, so you’re still getting the special treatment from me.”

“Eh... Dumb-senpai. It’s my wish to accompany you like this. And I’m not going to get jealous even if you pamper the others as much as you pamper me.”

“Pfft. Just let it go, husband. You two should go now, or you’ll be late. I’ll carry the groceries you bought back home.” Akane finished with a wink, already reaching for one of the heavier grocery bags like she’d been planning this division of labor from the start.

“Huh? No can do, Akane. Carrying that home is my job, you know? Besides, I have to deliver what I cooked to Miwa-nee and Minoru personally, right?” I chuckled softly, shaking my head as I picked up the grocery bag before she could take it.

Akane pouted but soon enough, affection and playful mischief sparkled from her eyes.

”Geez, husband, you’re too responsible sometimes. But I like it. This is why we love you.”

Ria giggled from my other side, her small hand slipping into mine as she tugged gently toward the door. ”Sister Akane’s right, Dumb-senpai. But for now, it’s still my day. Let’s go deliver this and then... wherever you plan next. I want to see everything with you.”

Eimi and Anzu-nee exchanged a glance.

Anzu-nee crossed her arms under her chest, trying to look stern but failing as her lips twitched upward. ”Shameless brat, don’t overdo it out there. And Ria-chan... make sure he doesn’t get distracted. Scold him for me if he does something bad, alright?”

”Big Sis Anzu, I will. But Dumb-senpai is Dumb-senpai. The only bad thing he can do is mess with those trying to hit on us. And I won’t scold him for it.” Ria nodded with that sharp, intelligent glint in her eyes. She’s that confident in me.

But she’s right. If someone tries to do that, they’d better hope I’m in a good mood so they won’t be humiliated in public.

After giving Eimi and Anzu-nee one last kiss for the day, they walked us to the door.

The walk to our house was quick, with Ria chattering about what she wanted to do after delivering the food. She’s considering taking the bus instead of the train so we can have more privacy for just the two of us which Akane supported, saying she should do it because I’d definitely be distracted with Nami and the others.

Distracted? Not exactly, but I certainly won’t be able to stop myself from pampering them. And maybe tease Kazuha-nee?

As we arrived at our house, Minoru’s eyes lit up at the sight of the bags, most likely hoping for chocolates again.

Well, we didn’t finish all the chocolates, so of course, we also brought the leftovers for them.

We didn’t stay too long after that. Just enough to watch Minoru try a bite of the stir-fry and hear Miwa-nee’s expert opinion on it. And I’m glad they liked it. There’s nothing more pleasant than watching your loved ones enjoy what you made, right?

As we were leaving, Ria even got a quick hug from the boy before we headed out, her cheeks glowing with quiet delight. Ria was particularly pleased to interact with the boy. After all, he looks a lot like me. It’s like handling a little me.

Mhm. She’s also going to be a great mother in the future.

—

Just as planned, we took the bus heading to Nami’s neighborhood. Unfortunately, because it’s the weekend, the bus was packed with weekend shoppers and families.

We still found a two-seater but close to the front so... we couldn’t do something sneaky. Not like we were planning to but that’s already quite the norm for my girls and me. As long as there is an opportunity, we’ll take it.

Around twenty minutes later, we arrived at our destination. Since I’ve already messaged ahead, Nami and the others were already gathered at the bus stop.

And it seems like they got a few more in their group. Apart from my girls, the first one I noticed was Nina, whose eyes immediately sparkled upon seeing me. Even though she saw how Ria was holding onto my arm, she didn’t care. She’s already too used to seeing me with new girls.

Next to her was her friend, Mami, Ogawa’s girlfriend. But considering he’s not around, I guess he wasn’t informed by his older sister.

“Oh, Night Prince! You’re really here. Will you bite me today?”

“Nina, what are you saying? Ugh, senpai, good afternoon.” Mami immediately facepalmed as she pulled her friend back.

“Mhm, it’s good to see you, Mami-chan. And Mei-chan...” I turned to the other side, where another girl was already taking out her phone to take a photo of me.

“Handsome-senpai, hello! I’m coming too!”

If Tadano saw her acting like this, he’d definitely confront me again come Monday.

Well, enough about that. I already heard that she’s coming from Nami, after all.

With Mami and Nina here... I naturally didn’t miss the figures of Umi and Sumire standing next to Nami. Umi shyly waved at me but her eyes focused on Ria clinging next to me. Sumire, on the other hand, was already pouting at me, openly expressing a hint of jealousy from our linked arms.

Mhm... This is gonna be chaotic again.
