Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot!

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Mission Complete!

The moment Fenric suggested searching Eric Tsang’s office for leverage, Superintendent Wong’s eyes lit up.

”That’s it... John, your brain works fast!” He clapped him on the arm, admiration plain in his smile. ”Ever think about transferring to my command?”

He’d clearly taken a shine to Fenric’s ”talent.”

Talent? Fenric almost laughed. If only you knew—I just watched the movie.

In the original plot, every time Eric Tsang met with Inspector Andy Lau, he secretly recorded the conversation and stashed the tapes in his office. Fenric remembered that detail, so the ”brilliant deduction” was pure meta knowledge.

Still, he kept a straight face. ”Superintendent Wong, can give me two days to think about it?”

Two days from now he’d be gone from this world.

”No problem,” Superintendent Wong said, chuckling.

—--

From there, everything snowballed.

With the drugs seized and Eric Tsang in custody, denial was pointless. He and his men were hauled into the station.

Superintendent Wong’s follow-up raid on Eric Tsang’s office hit pay dirt: multiple tapes—hidden recordings of conversations with his police moles. Ironclad evidence.

Not only did the tapes nail Andy Lau and Luk, they exposed additional insiders scattered across other divisions. One sweep, multiple burns.

The operation was a clean hit. Near perfect.

And at the center of it? Fenric.

Ding—!

A familiar chime rang in Fenric’s head.

Samsara Player ”Shura”—mission complete!

Every samsara inside Infernal Affairs heard it. Fenric felt his chest lift. The others? Their faces went dark.

In Samsara missions, competition matters: once one player clears the main objective, everyone else’s mission ranking tanks unless they’ve met alternate conditions. Fenric’s early clear meant the rest had effectively lost.

A second notification followed—louder, broader, echoing through all of Samsara Space:

Congratulations! Samsara Player ”Shura” has performed exceptionally in the dungeon world Infernal Affairs.

2

Completion Time: 7 hours 06 minutes.

Inner Ghosts Captured: 7 total.

Mission greatly overfulfilled. Evaluation: SSS (Super-God)!

The broadcast rattled the Central Square of Samsara Space

. Samsara players froze mid-step.SSS!!

Super-God!?

”F**k! Who’s ’Shura’? Monster-level!”

”A SSS?! I’ve never even gotten an A!”

”I ran Infernal Affairs once—three days, no clue. How did Shura clear in seven hours!?”

”Seven hours. Seven moles. Are you kidding me!?”

”Shura boss! Sell strategy please! Name your price!”

The plaza was in chaos. One name on everybody’s lips: Shura.

—---

Fenric—still in-world of Infernal Affairs—had no idea his alias had gone galaxy-wide.

He was surprised by the SSS, but the more he thought about it, the more it made sense.

Why the SSS?

Speed: 72-hour limit. He cleared in just 7h06m—under one-tenth the time.

Beyond Objective: Mission required identifying one mole in the police. Superintendent Wong’s sweep (prompted by Fenric) exposed seven across factions.

Outcome Influence: Early intel allowed police to intercept the shipment and arrest Eric Tsang. The dungeon outcome deviated upward from baseline—massive system credit.

Even if local NPCs hadn’t fully credited him, the Samsara system tracks causality. It knew.

The system continued:

Rewards for Samsara Player ”Shura”:

• Samsara Points: +10,000.

• Spirit: +10.

• Skill Unlocked:Camouflage (Master).

• Dungeon Cooldown Refresh Card (delivered to Personal Warehouse).

• Notice: This dungeon world is now closed to you (no re-entry).

• Grace Period: You may remain in this world for 60 minutes; forced return thereafter.

Fenric blinked.

That’s it? A Super-God rating and only this?

He didn’t realize just how absurdly valuable 10,000 Samsara Points was in the Safe Zone economy... nor how rare a proficient-tier skill drop could be from a nonlethal dungeon. SSS in a Safe Zone would never match Tower-grade loot—but this haul was still huge.

”Hey!” The middle-aged woman samsara player appeared at his side, eyes blazing red with a toxic blend of envy and admiration. ”Is the reward a lot for SSS? Be honest.”

Fenric shrugged, deadpan. ”Safe Zone super-god. What do you think? It’s not a Tower reward.”

”Hmph.” She didn’t believe him for a second. Then she said, ”Mission’s done. Let’s exit. Don’t forget—you still owe me a deal.”

Back when she’d negotiated, ten million had felt steep. Now that she’d watched him land the first SSS in Samsara history?

Ten million looked like a discount!

Which was exactly when Fenric smiled and said:

”About that deal... I’m thinking ten million might be a little low.”
