Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 344: Chapter 340: A Single Feather

This Azure Owl was already insufferably arrogant as a High Rank Creature. Now that it had evolved into an Immortal Spirit Peacock, it was bound to be even worse—probably proud beyond all measure.

Besides, Tu Xiao’an hadn’t exactly treated it well in the past.

Expecting any gratitude from it was out of the question.

”DING... Super level Creature: Immortal Spirit Peacock Azure Owl, Level 20. A transcendent and noble existence.”

Tu Xiao’an used Insight on it and checked Azure Owl’s stats. He hadn’t expected the evolution to not only turn it into a Super level Creature but also raise it to the Rank Two Spirit Monster Level in one fell swoop.

It had truly benefited a great deal. When he first subdued Azure Owl, it was only Level 15.

Now that the evolution was a success, a new problem arose.

As for when to evolve Azure Owl into a true Phoenix, that would have to wait. First, it had just completed the initial stage of its evolution and needed time to adapt.

Second, the Phoenix bloodline cost thirty million Faith Points.

Tu Xiao’an didn’t even have a total of thirty million Faith Points right now. Besides, he couldn’t spend them all, as he often had to spend a million to purchase the Transformation Technique.

The temporary Transformation Technique was too weak; Tu Xiao’an had already bought it four or five times now.

’I should probably wait until I achieve my own true Transformation,’ Tu Xiao’an thought. ’Faith Points won’t be as important to me then, and I can use them to buy Divine Beast bloodlines.’

”You brat, get down here this instant!”

The Vice Dean’s old yet resonant voice boomed from below.

Tu Xiao’an could ignore anyone else at the Ancient Academy, but he had to give this old man some face. Besides, he had shown off enough and had his fun.

”Let’s go down,” Tu Xiao’an said to Azure Owl.

When it was time to obey, Azure Owl was quite obedient. Besides, it didn’t like being stepped on. Its entire body was now covered in Nine Colored Feathers, more precious than gold.

It felt incredibly wronged to have someone’s feet on its back.

The Immortal Spirit Peacock swooped down, its presence sacred and extraordinary, causing the crowd of students below to scream with excitement.

A Super level Creature was truly a once-in-a-century sight.

It was safe to say that very few people in the entire Ancient Academy had ever seen a Super level Creature.

The Peacock landed, and Tu Xiao’an jumped off. He looked at the old man’s slightly sour expression and said, ”Hello, Vice Dean.”

He had to give him face in front of others.

”You really know how to stir up trouble. Causing such a huge commotion so early in the morning,” the Vice Dean said, glaring and huffing.

Tu Xiao’an shrugged. ”You can’t blame me for that. The spectacle of a Super level Creature’s birth is just that grand.”

”Then what’s with you flying back and forth over the Ancient Academy?”

That was even easier to explain. ”If you had a Super level Creature, a Peacock that just evolved, wouldn’t you take it up for a test flight?”

Even airplanes need a test flight.

Can’t argue with that logic.

As soon as Azure Owl landed, the students crowded around. Up close, the Immortal Spirit Peacock was even more extraordinary. Its posture, its form, its feathers—it was impossible to look away.

Every single feather was Nine Colored, shimmering with a luster that was incomparably noble.

You could say a single one of its feathers was worth a City.

Being gawked at, Azure Owl looked at these humans with an arrogant and disdainful expression. ’They’re all just trash.’

It could say with full confidence, ”Everyone here is garbage.”

Humans might be the masters of Earth, but it was now a Super level Creature. Its bloodline was far nobler than these humans’.

It had the right to despise them all.

After finishing its scornful assessment, Azure Owl began to seriously preen its beautiful, dazzling feathers. But its every move still drew continuous screams from the crowd.

”If I had a Peacock like that, I could die happy!”

”Wow, I really want to go up and touch that Peacock’s feathers. They’re so bright they could blind you!”

”Touching is nothing, riding it would be the real thrill!”

However, one student really couldn’t resist and tried to go up and touch Azure Owl’s Nine Colored Feathers. But before he could even get close, a whirlwind sent him flying.

That’s what you get for trying to touch it. If you tried to ride it, it would send you straight to the heavens.

Now a Rank Two Spirit Monster, Azure Owl’s combat strength was terrifying. It could even perpetrate a massacre at the Ancient Academy.

Unless the students from the Genius Class stepped in, it was likely no one could handle it.

”Didn’t you want to enter the Genius Class? Report to my office this afternoon, and I’ll make the arrangements,” the Vice Dean said, being rather lenient with this Snake Spirit. He suddenly coughed and added, ”This is the first time this old man has seen an Immortal Spirit Peacock. When you come this afternoon, bring me three of its feathers. I want to make a specimen.”

Three feathers?

Tu Xiao’an’s expression darkened. He turned to look at Azure Owl, which was diligently preening its feathers. ’Asking for even one feather would probably make it fight me to the death.’

”One,” Tu Xiao’an said flatly. Rejecting the old man outright would be too disrespectful.

”One it is, then.” The Vice Dean knew that peacocks were naturally and exceptionally protective of their feathers, especially one that had evolved an Immortal Spirit bloodline.

Getting even one was a good outcome.

”All of you, disperse for this old man! New students, go to the plaza for placement measurements. Old students, return to where you belong.”

Formal classes would start tomorrow.

Since the Vice Dean had spoken, the students began to leave, though reluctantly. Each glance at the Super level Creature was precious, as they might not get another.

Tu Xiao’an walked over to Azure Owl’s side, extremely pleased with its newly evolved form. It was simply gorgeous.

’If I put this out on the street and charged a thousand yuan for a photo, the line would be miles long.’

Moreover, if this Azure Owl achieved Transformation in the future, what a majestic beauty it would be.

Tu Xiao’an stroked Azure Owl’s Nine Colored Feathers. ”You’re a real beauty. You make me proud.”

”Hmph...” Azure Owl continued to preen its feathers arrogantly. But in the next instant, its majestic, sacred aura erupted as it shrieked, ”You villain! I’ll kill you!”

While stroking it, Tu Xiao’an had abruptly plucked one of its Nine Colored Feathers.

Many students who had been reluctant to leave were still there, and many of them looked at Tu Xiao’an with worshipful eyes. This strongest new student was a true legend.

But suddenly, they saw this strongest new student bolt like a flash of smoke.

The graceful, sacred, and extraordinary Peacock squawking murderously as it gave chase created a truly dramatic scene.

This scene left many people stunned, unable to process what they were seeing for a long time.

’Super level Creatures really are something else, daring to chase down even their own master. You can’t mess with them.’

This little farce ended quickly, as Tu Xiao’an promised to compensate Azure Owl for the single feather with five Snakeberries.

’Stingy little thing,’ Tu Xiao’an thought. ’It has so many feathers, what’s giving one to its master? If I hadn’t decided to treat it well, I’d have plucked a few more.’

’Giving them away as gifts wouldn’t be a bad idea, either.’

’And if I sold them, they’d be worth a fortune.’

Of course, he wouldn’t do something as crass as selling them for money.

After all, Tu Xiao’an was about to become a man with three hundred million.

Returning to his residence with Azure Owl, his portly roommate Dongfang Yuan seemed to have just woken up. He stumbled out, eyes hazy with sleep, and when he saw the Immortal Spirit Peacock next to Tu Xiao’an, he was so shocked he thought he was dreaming.

He was instantly petrified.

Tu Xiao’an was speechless. He and Azure Owl had caused such a massive commotion that the entire Ancient Academy had gathered downstairs, yet this guy living right upstairs had somehow slept through it all.

He really slept like a log.

”Oh my god, is that a Peacock? Such a beautiful Peacock!”

After slapping himself twice and realizing it wasn’t a dream, Dongfang Yuan rushed excitedly toward Azure Owl.

”Don’t—”

Tu Xiao’an had just started to shout a warning when he saw the two-hundred-plus-pound fatty go flying out of the second-floor window.

His fate unknown.
