Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: A Suffocating Number of Bees

After figuring out that Killer Bees could produce honey, Tu Xiao’an felt even more motivated. His goal was no longer just to get the honey from the burial mound but to capture all the nearby bees and Wasps and then evolve them into a massive number of Killer Bees.

Killer Bees were the fighter jets of the bee world—unstoppable. Not only that, but they could also produce honey, and the effects of their honey were outstanding. It was practically a treasure.

If he had enough of this honey, he could make a fortune selling it. He, a Snake, had found another path to riches.

”Killer Bee, go! These bees are your food!”

Since Wasps were in short supply, Tu Xiao’an had his Killer Bee feed on the regular bees, while he himself focused on capturing Wasps for the system.

”Capture...”

”Capture...”

”Capture...”

Following that, whenever Tu Xiao’an saw a Wasp, he would envelop it with his consciousness, forcefully capturing the Level 2 Wasp. In no time at all, he already had thirty Wasps in his Pet Box. With just those thirty Wasps and three hundred bees, he could evolve ten Level 3 Killer Bees.

He had been a bit hesitant to spend 100 Energy Value before, but after seeing how ridiculously overpowered the evolved Killer Bee was, what was a mere 100 Energy Value?

He now needed 10,000 Energy Value to level up. If he used all ten thousand of that Energy Value to evolve Killer Bees, that would be a full 100 Killer Bees.

With a hundred Killer Bees, he would have a massive supply of honey. Moreover, the combat power of one hundred Killer Bees would be simply overwhelming.

They could even take down a tiger with ease. They were killing machines; three stings were enough to take a human life.

”Evolve, evolve, and evolve again!”

Tu Xiao’an roared with excitement in his heart. He captured Wasps while simultaneously using the system to evolve Killer Bees. A brand-new Killer Bee emerged every three minutes.

At the same time, he was constantly observing the situation. He saw many Wasps flying towards the burial mound, but before they could get close, a large swarm of bees surged forward to surround them. They were like a suicide squad; even knowing they would be killed by the Wasps, they still charged forward to keep them away from the burial mound.

The bees guarding the hive would even strictly inspect their own returning foragers, barring entry to any that failed to find nectar. Against foreign invaders, they would sound the alarm, defending their home with their stingers—the only weapon they had—to the death.

This was a war between bees and Wasps. One side defending, the other invading. Neither gave an inch.

Except now, a shit-stirrer had been thrown into the mix: Tu Xiao’an. He was profiting from the chaos, continuously capturing both Wasps and bees.

His Killer Bees were even more unstoppable, moving with the terrifying efficiency of an assassin who could take a general’s head from the midst of an entire army. Any bee or Wasp they targeted was devoured.

Then, once it finished digesting, it would fly over to Tu Xiao’an and spit out a drop of honey.

As time went on, Tu Xiao’an had evolved ten Killer Bees. They charged majestically onto the battlefield, making the war between the bees and the Wasps even more chaotic.

With the Killer Bees causing a disturbance, Tu Xiao’an the venomous Snake was completely ignored. No bees bothered him.

He happily continued to capture bees and Wasps.

At this point, the number of bees in his Pet Box had surpassed 2,000, while the number of Wasps had reached 100.

The system’s Creature Fusion Evolution function didn’t stop for a moment, churning out a steady stream of Killer Bees.

Though evolution consumed Energy Value, Tu Xiao’an’s Energy Value was still skyrocketing.

He was capturing so many bees that the cost was negligible. Evolving ten Killer Bees only cost 1,000 Energy Value, but capturing 1,000 bees alone netted him 5,000 Energy Value.

Just then, Tu Xiao’an began to slither quietly toward the burial mound. The situation was chaotic, which was the perfect opportunity for him to fish in troubled waters. Under normal circumstances, getting close to the burial mound would have been nearly impossible.

He was no longer interested in the honey inside, but he was interested in the Bee King. If he captured the Bee King, the rest of the bees would obediently submit. He had to capture the leader to subdue the followers.

Bypassing one skirmish after another, he steadily closed in on the burial mound. Although the Wasps were formidable, Tu Xiao’an still saw many of them fall to the fearless bees. After all, the bees had overwhelming numbers, often fighting at odds of a hundred to one, or even greater.

Besides, there had only been a few hundred Wasps to begin with. With Tu Xiao’an having secretly captured a hundred of them, their numbers were now stretched dangerously thin.

Just as Tu Xiao’an was about to reach the burial mound, his path was suddenly blocked by several hundred bees, cutting this venomous Snake off before he even had a chance to feel pleased.

’You still have the energy to deal with me?’

Tu Xiao’an wasn’t annoyed at being stopped. As it happened, a brand-new Killer Bee had just finished evolving. At his command, the majestic Killer Bee charged toward the hundreds of bees. Instantly, they no longer had the luxury of paying attention to him, the venomous Snake.

He continued forward, but every few meters, another few hundred bees would appear to block his path. He was forced to release his captured Wasps to hold back the swarms.

It took three minutes to evolve a single Killer Bee.

As Tu Xiao’an neared the burial mound, he found the area densely packed with countless bees. They formed an ironclad defense around the mound, allowing nothing to approach.

The sight was terrifying to contemplate. There were so many bees that anyone with trypophobia would likely have fainted on the spot.

Tu Xiao’an stopped and considered for a moment. Then, he released nearly thirty Wasps at once, sending them charging toward the burial mound. Huge swarms of bees met them without a shred of fear, engaging the Wasps in a fight to the death.

’This is my chance.’ Tu Xiao’an looked at the nearby burial mound. He had to rush in all at once, find the Bee King, and capture it with the system immediately. Then, he would command the Bee King to make its subjects stand down.

With his plan in place, Tu Xiao’an prepared to charge the burial mound. All the while, the system’s notifications chimed continuously in his mind, announcing the experience points gained as his captured Wasps killed more bees.

Strangely, Tu Xiao’an didn’t receive any experience Energy from his Killer Bees. The bees they killed were simply eaten and converted into honey.

So, he couldn’t get Energy from them, only honey.

He couldn’t have his cake and eat it too. He understood that.

But it didn’t matter. His Energy was still skyrocketing, rising incredibly fast without pause. Leveling up was just a matter of moments.

Seizing the opportunity, Tu Xiao’an transformed into a white blur and shot into the burial mound like a puff of smoke. The moment he arrived inside, he was dumbfounded. The tomb was completely filled with bees. Above, below, left, right—every single surface was crawling with a dense, writhing mass of them.

There were just too many. He’d never imagined so many bees would be packed inside the cave—the sheer number was suffocating.
