Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Bee Army

This was arguably the easiest way to grind for levels. Tu Xiao’an couldn’t even be bothered to devour the hidden venomous snakes. ’Why be so cruel to our own kind?’ he thought. ’Best to let them live.’

In less than an hour, Tu Xiao’an had quietly subdued a full thousand wild mosquitoes, and he felt like he had barely lifted a finger.

A thousand mosquitoes meant 1,000 points of Evolutionary Energy added to his account. It felt absolutely incredible.

Suddenly, amidst a patch of flowers and grass, Tu Xiao’an saw a small bee dancing gracefully, seeming to collect nectar from the vibrant blossoms to take back and make honey.

As he watched, a flash of inspiration struck Tu Xiao’an. Where there were bees, there was honey. And deep in the mountains, it would surely be the purest wild honey—that was good stuff.

Honey soothes the lungs and can protect them. His mom’s cough was due to severe lung damage. If she could drink some honey from time to time, it would definitely help with her condition.

’Hehe, in that case, I have to get some of this wild honey to take back with me.’

Tu Xiao’an truly was a filial son; to see a single bee and immediately think of his mother.

He immediately used Insight on the little bee.

”DING... Level 1 Bee. Lifespan: one to three months. Attack method: a hard stinger on its tail containing venom for attacking opponents. The host can gain 5 points of Energy by killing or subduing it.”

Once the data appeared, Tu Xiao’an fell into thought. This bee was several times larger than a wild mosquito, but it was still Level 1. Yet, subduing it would grant 5 points of Energy Value.

’If that’s the case, why bother subduing mosquitoes? Isn’t subduing bees way better?’ Bees were also more offensively capable. They had a hard stinger on their tails tipped with venom. If you got stung by a bee, you were in for a world of hurt. Symptoms included dizziness, fever, shortness of breath, and nausea.

The first thing you had to do was immediately pull out the stinger, squeeze the venom from the wound, and rinse it with clean water. That would make it much better.

Most people are afraid of bees, afraid of being stung. The feeling of being stung by a bee was a uniquely miserable experience; only those who’ve been through it know. A large, swollen lump would form where you were stung. It was both itchy and painful. Scratching it hurt, but not scratching it was unbearably itchy. Plus, it took several days for the swelling to go down.

Five points per bee. If he subdued a massive swarm of them and unleashed it, they would be even more terrifying than a venomous snake.

Plus, there was honey to be had.

To get the honey, Tu Xiao’an needed to find the beehive.

Finding a wild beehive in the mountains wasn’t actually that difficult. As long as you saw a bee, you could just quietly follow it back to its hive.

Some experienced Beekeepers would catch a bee, tie a long red string to it, and then follow the string to successfully locate a large nest.

Tu Xiao’an didn’t need to go through all that trouble. He just had to find one bee and have it lead the way.

’Consciousness, envelop. Subdue!’

In an instant, the nectar-gathering wild bee became Tu Xiao’an’s puppet, floating lightly in front of the Silver White Snake.

Its fuzzy body had stripes like a tiger’s, and its wings were the color of gold, as if they were a reward from heaven for its diligence. Its overall appearance was leagues better than any mosquito’s.

Bees were actually quite impressive in every aspect. Their flight speed, approximately 20-40 kilometers per hour, was far beyond what a mosquito could ever hope to match.

Next, Tu Xiao’an ordered the bee to take him ”home.” His current thinking was quite tyrannical: once he found the beehive, he would subdue the bees and also take the honey back for his mom to make honey water.

He was planning to wipe out the entire colony.

Bees are famous in the natural world for being social insects. A typical hive contains anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands of bees, or even more. A young Bee King at her peak can lay 2,000-3,000 eggs in 24 hours.

Their reproduction rate was astonishing.

Of course, as astonishing as the bees’ reproduction rate was, it was still a far cry from that of mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes are considered one of the four major pests in people’s eyes, while bees are beneficial insects. Although they sting, they are still very much welcomed by humans.

When we were young, our teachers told us that bees are kind, hardworking, and beneficial. They gather nectar from a hundred flowers to make honey, but for whom do they toil, and for whom is the sweetness?

They are diligent brewers. They travel thousands of miles and gather pollen from ten thousand flowers to meticulously brew sweet honey, which they then contribute to humankind.

Bai Town was rife with snakes, which gave rise to the Snake Catcher profession. And because of bees, there was another profession called Beekeeper, people who made a living by raising bees.

With Tu Xiao’an’s System Ability, becoming a Beekeeper would be more than easy; he just needed to subdue and control a large number of wild bees.

Following his little bee brother, Tu Xiao’an gradually saw more and more bees along the path. He was certain that the bees’ main camp wasn’t far ahead.

Sure enough, after flying for less than five minutes, the bee arrived at a large mountainside. The slope was covered in flowers and plants—truly an ideal home for bees.

All he could see were bees dancing everywhere, a dense mass zipping back and forth in the air as if to obscure the entire sky. The whole area was filled with the BUZZING sound of bees. Other than professional Beekeepers, ordinary people would absolutely not dare set foot in this area.

Just looking at the scene was enough to give you goosebumps all over.

Tu Xiao’an estimated there were at least a hundred thousand bees in this area.

Suddenly, the Silver White Snake’s Snake Pupils began to glow. This place was a perfect spot for grinding levels and farming mobs.

’Over a hundred thousand bees... if I subdue them all, how much Energy Value would that be?’

Furthermore, with an army of over a hundred thousand bees, he would be unstoppable, cutting down any god or buddha in his path.

Imagine it: a snake leading an army of over a hundred thousand bees. It would be absolutely badass.

Staring at the sky full of bees, Tu Xiao’an couldn’t stop gulping. Just as he was about to slither in, he suddenly witnessed a jaw-dropping scene.

A venomous snake, over two meters long, was being attacked by hundreds of bees. The snake let out a miserable hiss, roaring at the sky, but it was all useless. Its body looked as if it were draped in camouflage fatigues, with countless bees BUZZING and crawling all over it. The sight alone was enough to make your scalp tingle.

Tu Xiao’an watched, stunned, as the venomous snake was completely engulfed by the swarm of bees. Its death couldn’t have been more gruesome.

It’s said that bees are famously social creatures and extremely united. The moment they spot an intruder, they swarm to attack.

With the fate of this venomous snake, the bees were sending a clear message to any would-be intruders: ’Give up hope.’

The only thing missing was a sign hanging outside, arrogantly scrawled with three bold words: ”Trespassers will die.”
