Hello, Mr. Major General

Gu Nianzhi finally returned to her home from the Senate building. She hadn’t finished her dinner yet, and was so tired that she was on the verge of passing out.

Huo Shaoheng knew that she was exhausted.

She had just gotten off the plane in the morning, and had been busy in the Senate for the entire day. Even at night, she was so scared by Lu Jin’s “Self-driving”car that she couldn’t even move her legs.

A normal person would have collapsed to the ground by now.

Gu Nianzhi had held on for so long that she couldn’t even open her eyes. She was already doing pretty well.

He half-carried Gu Nianzhi and brought her back to his official residence at the headquarters of the Special Operations Forces.

Gu Nianzhi immediately fell asleep and slept until the next day, almost noon.

When she woke up, she looked at the dark bedroom and thought that it was still dark.

She woke up for a while and took out her phone to take a look. It was already noon the next day.

She woke up in an instant and quickly got out of bed. She carried her clothes to the bathroom to take a shower. She also put on a face mask and cleaned herself up before coming out of her room.

In the dining room downstairs, Yin Shixiong and Zhao liangze were having lunch. Huo Shaoheng had finished his lunch and was reading a briefing.

Gu Nianzhi walked over with a smile and said, “Huo Shao, did you help me apply for leave today?”

Huo Shaoheng didn’t even raise his head and calmly said, “I couldn’t wake you up no matter how I called you this morning, so I helped you ask speaker long for leave.”

Gu Nianzhi sat down beside him and leaned her head on Huo Shaoheng’s shoulder. She said sweetly, “We’re really connected now. I just woke up and looked at my watch. I had a feeling that you must have asked for leave for me.”

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been allowed to sleep for so long.

Yin Shixiong snickered and knocked on the dishes with his knife and fork. He winked and said, “Nianzhi, I’m not afraid to burst your rose dream. I was the one who called speaker long this morning to ask for a leave of absence for you.”

Gu Nianzhi immediately retorted,”… Huo Shao must have asked you to call him, right?”

Huo Shaoheng glanced at Yin shixiong and calmly said, “There will be a meeting at the headquarters this afternoon to discuss the list of directors to be stationed in Africa next year. Big Xiong, I have high hopes for you.”

Yin Shixiong was so frightened that his whole body trembled and he cried out, “Huo Shao! You’re using your official position for personal gain! This is revenge!”

Zhao liangze took a sip of his ice-cold drink and smiled. “Big Xiong, my base at the Cape of Good Hope in Africa is developing very well. Why Don’t you go take a look? I haven’t been there in a while.”

“If you want to go, go ahead! I… I just got married! I Can’t leave qiqi behind!”Yin Shixiong was half-joking.

Gu nianzhi smiled and said, “Brother Xiong, Huo Shao is just trying to scare you. He won’t really do it — right? Huo Shao?”

It was as if Huo Shaoheng had never done it before!

Huo shaoheng only responded with an “Mm”after a long time. He couldn’t understand what he meant at all.

Yin Shixiong and Zhao Liangze looked at each other and shook their heads in unison.

It seemed that Huo Shao was still a different person in front of Gu Nianzhi.

Soon, Gu Nianzhi’s food was delivered. She took two bites and said slowly, “President Lu clearly said that he was going to the Senate to deliver my food. Oh My, did you inform President Lu?”

Huo Shaoheng put down the report and said, “No, should I call President Lu?”

Gu Nianzhi quickly took out her phone and dialed Lu Yuan’s number.

“… President Lu, it’s nianzhi. Where are you now?”

Lu Yuan was standing in front of Gu Nianzhi’s office with a lunch box in his hand.

Looking at the large “On leave”label by the door, Lu Yuan smiled wryly. “Chief Gu, don’t you need to inform me in advance when you’re on leave?”

Gu Nianzhi:”…”

She wasn’t used to Lu Yuan being so polite all of a sudden.

It took her a while to react.

Lu Yuan should be near her office.

Her office was in the parliament building, so it wasn’t appropriate for Lu Yuan to act like he was too familiar with her.

As of now, her relationship with Lu Yuan and Lu Jin was still limited to a small number of people.

Gu nianzhi quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, President Lu. When I got home yesterday, I felt like I had passed out. I slept until now.”

“Huo Shao asked speaker long for a leave of absence this morning. I’m not going to work today. Why don’t you come to Huo Shao’s place? I’m at Huo Shao’s official residence.”

Lu yuan nodded, “I’ll come right away. Please wait a moment.”

Gu Nianzhi happily put down her knife and fork.”… then what about lunch? Bring it over with you!”

Huo Shaoheng silently dragged Gu Nianzhi’s dishes over and ate all of her lunch.

Gu Nianzhi coughed lightly and tried to cover it up. “Huo Shao, your orderly hasn’t been cooking very well lately.”

Yin shixiong tugged at the corners of his mouth and smiled. “Nianzhi, you weren’t picky in the past. You ate happily at Huo Shao’s place…”

“I’m not picky now either…”Gu Nianzhi rolled her eyes. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Huo Shaoheng’s movements and said, “I just can’t let CEO Lu bring me food for free.”

“You still say you’re not picky? !”Yin Shixiong glared at her. “If Huo Shao personally made these dishes, would you eat them?”

“Huo Shao personally made them. They’re much better than this!”Gu Nianzhi said confidently. “How many people are willing to make do with good food?”

“That’s all you want!”Zhao Liangze finished his lunch and put the dishes on the tray. “I’m done eating. I have a meeting this afternoon. I’ll go back to the office to organize the materials.”

Yin Shixiong also stood up and said, “I’ll go too. Otherwise, I’ll be sent to Africa. I’ll live up to my name as the ruler of Africa!”

Gu Nianzhi winked at him. “Brother Xiong, I think highly of you! Qiqi is the ruler of Europe!”

Yin Shixiong pointed at her and left Huo Shaoheng’s official residence with a smile.

Huo Shaoheng had no intention of leaving after finishing gu Nianzhi’s meal. He picked up a newspaper from the magazine rack at the back and continued reading.

Gu Nianzhi felt a little guilty. She chatted with Huo Shaoheng incoherently.

Huo shaoheng only used one syllable “Yes”to brush her off the whole time.

Gu Nianzhi was too embarrassed to argue with Huo Shaoheng.

When Lu Yuan came in with the food box, Gu Nianzhi was relieved. She skipped over and took the food box from Lu Yuan. “President Lu, you’re finally here! I’m a man of my word!”

“You’re a man of your word?”Lu Yuan teased her with a smile. “You’re a man of your word, and I missed you?”

“… Hehe…”Gu Nianzhi took out a variety of delicious dishes from the food box and placed them in front of her. She picked up her chopsticks, she smiled and said, “Of course I kept my promise. If you said you wanted to eat the food you gave me, I would eat the food you gave me. I didn’t even eat a single grain of rice that was cooked by someone else!”

Lu Yuan:”…”

Huo Shaoheng flipped through a page of the newspaper as if nothing had happened and continued to stare at it.

Lu Yuan was secretly amused, but he did not expose the undercurrent between the two. He went to the kitchen and made himself a cup of tea. He sat opposite Gu Nianzhi and watched her eat for a while, he then said, “Nianzhi, we wanted to sue that reporter Narita Yamaguchi.”

Gu Nianzhi nodded. “We want to sue him too. What’s Wrong?”

“… but we found out that he’s missing. Our lawyer in Japan couldn’t find his people and couldn’t serve the court summons.”

Gu Nianzhi was very surprised. She wiped her mouth with a napkin and said in surprise,”… you’ve already filed a case in Japan? So Soon?”

“Your father couldn’t wait to teach him a lesson ever since he humiliated you in the Netherlands.”Lu Yuan smiled and glanced at Huo Shaoheng. “Shaoheng, have your people been keeping an eye on this person in Japan?”

Huo Shaoheng closed the newspaper and threw it aside. “We lost him in the Netherlands. There’s no news of him leaving the country from the Netherlands for the time being. How did you know that he had returned to Japan?”

Lu Yuan smiled sheepishly. “It was professor Lu… He hacked into the internal network of Narita’s news organization and found his phone number. But surprisingly, Narita used a very old phone. Other than making calls, he couldn’t even send or receive text messages. He could only look at the weather and stock data.”

Gu Nianzhi understood and said,”… so hacking into his phone was useless.”

“Yeah, there’s nothing in the contact list, let alone store it. There’s not even a high-definition photo.”

Huo Shaoheng smiled. “It looks like uncle Lu was faster than us. Our people have just infiltrated Narita’s news agency and haven’t received any news yet.”

“I’ll make it short. Professor Lu found out that he couldn’t hack Narita’s phone, so he installed a GPS system in his phone.”

“That way, we’ll know where he goes immediately.”

“… but how do we prove that he has the phone?”Gu Nianzhi asked curiously. “If he gave the phone to someone else, or lost it, wouldn’t we lose the target?”

“Yes, it’s possible.”Lu Yuan nodded. “The closest signal that Professor Lu found was in Japan. Then the signal disappeared.”

“We checked the recent entry and exit records of the Japanese customs and confirmed that Narita Yamaguchi had indeed returned to the country. That’s why we had our lawyer in Japan file a case in the court and follow the court to deliver the subpoena.”

“… but he’s not at his house.”
