Chapter 2090: Part 2: A Fierce Battle Erupts

Outside

The vehicles had stopped for a break midway to the city. The people in the vehicles parked in a safe place before they started setting up camp nearby to rest.

Inside the Gregor Mansion, the Zero Puppet in the red smoke left the control room and went to the master room.

[Ding! Zero puppet has come.]

I heard the system voice in my mind. I opened my eyes and noticed the time. It had been an hour. It was impossible for the people to reach the next city yet.

They must have stopped midway for some reason.

I got out of bed and went to open the door. I saw the Zero Puppet in its red smoke form. It explained the situation.

Then I went to the control room and checked the situation, seeing that no one was inside the vehicle.

Swoosh!

I reappeared in the back seat. I saw the people busy setting up camp on the left side, so I opened the right door and stepped out.

No one noticed anything. Then I walked up to the people as if nothing had happened.

Someone in the group noticed me.

”Who are you?” he asked.

The person was a Level-9 Wizard. The others setting up the camp were alerted, and they immediately gathered together.

”I’m a solo traveler. I want to know the direction to the nearest city,” I said.

Hearing that, the person relaxed his brow.

He said, ”The next city is Bluebell Reach City. It’s a one-day journey from here if you follow the path straight ahead.”

Hearing that, my eyes flashed with relief.

”Then what about Darkmoon City?” I asked.

”It’s in the northern direction from here. We left the city an hour ago,” the person said.

After gathering the information, I thanked them before leaving. I appeared in midair and used my flight ability to move forward.

The person and his family members were stunned. Seeing my speed, they understood that I was a powerful wizard.

Not long after leaving the place, I came to an isolated spot.

I saw no one on the ground. I checked the area using the system, then I appeared inside the system space. I saw Magic Lord Duncan healing.

”Have you recovered?” I asked.

Hearing that, Duncan opened his eyes. He saw his Master in front of him.

”I have almost recovered,” Duncan replied.

”It’s time for you to go back to Darkmoon City. With your Magic Lord power, you can reach the city in less than 30 minutes,” I said to him.

Duncan agreed and stood up. Next, I brought him outside. We suddenly appeared in midair.

Duncan was taken aback. But he had seen many weird things before, so he controlled himself.

”So, which direction is it?” he asked.

”If you head north, you will reach Darkmoon City in less than 30 minutes,” I said to him.

Magic Lord Duncan didn’t say much, but he nodded his head before leaving. I watched his retreating back.

Once he was gone, I turned my head toward Bluebell Reach City. I had heard the city was known for beautiful flowers.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes.

Swoosh!

I put on my mask and brought the raven aircraft outside.

I entered the cockpit and began to view the map. The map had many marked cities. I quickly found Darkmoon City.

Then I looked around and saw Bluebell Reach City. I didn’t know what to do next. I had thought of returning to the Magic City, but I didn’t know the situation out there.

This city was closer. I could get there within 6 hours.

After making my decision, I set the coordinates for Bluebell Reach City. Then I started the engine and put the flight on autopilot mode.

...

Darkmoon City

Boom!

Gaston evaded the thick roots one after another, but they were moving fast and chasing after him.

The emergence of the tall tree had weakened the surrounding infrastructure. It could collapse to the ground at any moment.

He flew higher into the sky, higher than the height of the tree. He then looked down toward the top of the tree and activated a magic spell.

Huge dark clouds appeared above the tree.

”Cloudburst!”

From there, he released the magic spell attack. The thick dark clouds burst open, and rainwater came crashing down onto the tree with heavy force.

Sshshhh!

The next second, the tall tree covered in rainwater began to corrode. The 200-foot-tall tree was being riddled with holes, weakening its magic power by a great deal.

The tall tree began to collapse. At the same time, the rainwater flooded the streets, impacting them as well.

The aftermath didn’t stop there. The rainwater reached the surrounding residences, and the buildings were eroded by the powerful magic.

The surrounding hundred meters were devastated by the acidic rainwater. The condition of the people in those residential buildings was unknown.

”Attack him!” Silas shouted.

He started to pour mana into the tree to stabilize it. If the tree collapsed, his mana would be wasted. Not only that, but the surroundings would also be destroyed.

They had come here to take control of the city, not to destroy it.

Sergei collected his thoughts. He then began to cast a magic spell. His magic was related to puppets.

A silver-colored magic circle appeared before him.

Gaston stood in midair high above them. He saw that another Magic Lord was up to something, but he was not going to underestimate them.

So he took out his device and sent an emergency message to his followers, friends, the Black Tower, and the Mage Union.

Seeing that, Silas’s face turned ugly. He saw Sergei releasing the spell attack.

Boom!

Numerous long, silver-white needles appeared. They were extremely sharp and thin. They shot toward Gaston the next second, tearing through the air and creating an air-piercing screech along the way.

Gaston was ready to face the attack, but when he saw the needles, he took flight. While moving, he took a defensive artifact from the storage bracelet
