Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1222: Part 1: Take action

From MCʼs Perspective:

I have escaped tonight. But itʼs difficult to guard against a level-9 Wizard all the time. There is a system to warn me, but still, I should make some preparations.

I have to find out about this personʼs identity tomorrow.

After figuring things out, I decided to sleep here.

The following day,

After getting out of bed, I appeared back inside the room and started my morning routine.

About 2 hours later,

I left the dorm building early after getting ready. Then I started heading towards the Special Mage Department. Last nightʼs incident was a wake-up call for me.

If I donʼt take any measures, it would be stupid of me.

Ten minutes later,

I reached the Special Mage Department. After scanning my ID, I entered. Then I started walking towards Elder Paul Linʼs cabin.

Shortly afterwards,

When I got there, I knocked on the door.

Creak!

The next moment, the door unlocked. I then opened it to enter. Elder Paul Lin was sitting behind the desk. Upon seeing me, his expression turned serious.

Seeing that, my eyes flashed with doubt.

”Did he already know?” I asked in my heart.

The next second, I shook my head. Itʼs impossible for him to know. There must be another reason for his reaction.

I sat in the chair opposite him.

”Vincent, I heard you were looking for the pinewood forest near the Anderson Family Territory?” Paul asked.

Hearing that, I immediately thought of the librarian woman. I didnʼt expect her to inform him.

”Elder, itʼs a place I must visit in the future,” I replied honestly.

Paul Lin was surprised. He didnʼt expect Vincent to admit it either.

”May I know why?” Paul Lin asked.

Hearing that, my eyes flashed with struggle. I came here to inform him about last nightʼs incident, but I didnʼt expect the current situation.

Without waiting for Vincent to reply, Paul Lin continued, ”Not long ago, you were asking me about some other dangerous ruin that was under the control of the Mage Union.”

”Now, you are searching for information about another forbidden place, which is equally dangerous. I wonder whatʼs on your mind?” he added.

Hearing that, I recalled another infamous dangerous ruin. Initially, when I newly joined the organization, I had always thought that was the ruin I was always looking for.

But the presence of thin cloth inside the black ore changed everything.

I took a deep breath and looked at him. Then I took out the black locket and gave it to him.

”What is this?” Paul Lin asked.

”I picked up a black ore inside the Anderson Family Treasury because it reacted to my gravity mana. After coming here, I broke the black ore and found the black locket inside.”

”Inside the locket, there is a thin piece of cloth that records a small layout of the pinewood forest. I suspect there is a ruin hidden there. It is related to Gravity Magic,” I said to him.

The information was overwhelming. Paul Lin took time to digest it. He opened the black locket and saw the thin piece of cloth inside it.

From the first look, he recognized it as some kind of family heirloom. He then took out the thin piece of cloth and opened it to view.

Then he saw the layout of the pinewood forest, which is exactly like the triangular pinewood forest near the Anderson Family Territory.

Paul Lin couldnʼt hide his shock and disbelief. He knew Vincent had been looking for Gravity Magic resources on his own.

He was also looking for information as well, but he didnʼt expect Vincent Carey to find a clue inside the Anderson Family Treasury.

If itʼs true, then they are the ones who knew about this. He was aware that the wizards who went there to explore never returned to this day.

It is believed that they all died inside.

”Vincent, I think we should tell Head Howard. He is a Magic Lord. He can get the resources for you,” Paul Lin said.

But he felt embarrassed inside. Itʼs the job of their organization to provide magic resources to Vincent Carey, especially since Vincent Carey is representing the Mage Union in one way.

He believed that Head Howard would personally take action to secure the resources. So far, no one had been able to find out the truth.

Apart from the Gravity Magic Resources, if there are other resources, they would be useful to their organization as well. Thinking about it, he was excited.

”Elder Paul, I think itʼs good to tell him as well. But I have something more important to talk about right now,” I said in a solemn tone.

Paul Lin narrowed his eyes. He saw the seriousness on Vincentʼs face, which was not present there a couple of seconds ago.

”What is it?” he asked.

”I think someone is targeting me inside the campus,” I surprised him by saying that.

”Itʼs impossible,” Paul Lin uttered in disbelief.

”No, I have felt it. Someone has been stalking me since yesterday. That person even came to my dorm room window to spy on me,” I added further.

The expression of Paul Lin changed drastically because Vincent Careyʼs accusation was huge.

”Are you serious?” he asked.

”Yes, itʼs true,” I replied.

I could have revealed Charon Perryʼs name, but I didnʼt have any supporting evidence. I had heard their conversation, but I didnʼt want to talk about it.

Paul Lin fell into contemplation. He had already started screening people in his mind. There are only wizards from the Aristocratic Faction who can take action against Vincent Carey. Others simply donʼt have a motive.

After thinking for a moment, he looked at Vincent Carey.

”Well, Iʼll follow you in secret today. Letʼs see who is targeting you,” Paul Lin said.

”Good,” I replied.

I felt it was a good idea. Though the enemy does use transformation magic, I doubt he would escape under Elder Paul Lin.

Then Paul Lin decided to inform Head Howard Mason right away, so I spoke about a few things before leaving for class.
