Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1060: Sign of turmoil

Shortly afterward, inside the imposing Dean Tower, a building steeped in history and magic, the old dean sat in his dimly lit study. His once calm demeanor was shattered by the latest development—a piece of news so disturbing that it left him reeling.

At first, he dismissed it as mere rumors, the kind of baseless gossip that often circulates in times of uncertainty. But his skepticism evaporated when, just minutes ago, he received undeniable confirmation from their Elite Wizards, the academyʼs most trusted and powerful wizards.

The leaked intelligence aligned disturbingly well with the findings of their own investigations. This coincidence could only mean one thing: the intel might not just be credible; it might be a harbinger of a deeper, more sinister truth.

”If this is true,” the dean muttered under his breath, a shadow of dread creeping into his voice, ”then both academies are as brutal and ruthless as the Black Faction Wizards themselves.”

The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of an unsettling reality. He had never imagined such depravity from the Royal Force Hall Academy, a pillar of their government. They were supposed to stand for order, justice, and the principles that separated them from the darkness of the Black Faction.

He was well aware that in other countries, governments conducted secret experiments, pushing the boundaries of ethics and morality in the name of progress. But their Sand Rock Country was supposed to be different.

The government here had always made a clear distinction between the White Faction and the Black Faction, enshrining laws that ensured the people followed the righteous path.

This incident, however, threatened to blur those lines. The governmentʼs actions had sown seeds of distrust among the populace, a dangerous sentiment that could be exploited by hostile forces. If these enemies seized the opportunity, they could easily incite internal strife, leading to the destabilization of the country.

The deanʼs eyes glimmered with a complicated glint as he pondered the implications. He could already foresee the chaos this revelation would unleash upon the Capital.

He had never harbored any fondness for the Royal Force Hall Academy or the Weapon Palace Academy, but this situation went beyond personal disdain.

If the unrest wasnʼt quelled swiftly, even his own Yellow River Academy could be dragged into the conflict, an outcome he feared could spell disaster for them all.

The following day, the atmosphere within the city was tense, almost suffocating. The wizard students awoke to a world that had been shaken to its core.

The shocking news about the two rival academies had spread like wildfire, igniting fear and uncertainty among everyone. By now, it wasnʼt just the students who were abuzz with the revelations; the entire Capital was engulfed in murmurs of unease.

Everywhere you looked, locals huddled in small, secretive groups, their conversations hushed and their expressions grave. Small business owners, usually the first to engage in lively banter, now kept their heads down, casting wary glances over their shoulders.

Even visitors to the Capital, who had initially come to marvel at the cityʼs grandeur, found themselves drawn into the web of fear that had taken hold.

It was as if an invisible net had been cast over the populace, ensnaring them in an unspoken pact of silence. People were afraid to speak openly, their voices stifled by the weight of the rumors swirling around them.

The City Guards, once respected and greeted with smiles, were now met with avoidance. Those familiar with the guards found it increasingly difficult to meet their eyes, their once cordial relations strained by suspicion. This strange, almost paranoid behavior stemmed from the vicious rumors that had taken root in the cityʼs heart.

The impact of these rumors was profound, tarnishing not only the reputation of the Royal Force Hall Academy but also casting a long shadow over the government itself.

It was common knowledge that the Academy was heavily funded and supported by the government, a symbol of the stateʼs power and pride. But now, that symbol was crumbling, and with it, the peopleʼs trust.

If the government failed to take decisive action, the consequences would be dire. The loss of public trust would not only jeopardize the future stability of the country but would also stifle the growth of other major organizations that relied on the governmentʼs support. The high-ranking wizards, the very backbone of Sand Rock Country, would see their influence and authority erode.

More alarmingly, if the seeds of distrust continued to spread, it could lead to a brain drain of sorts—newly awakened wizard students might seek refuge in neighboring countries, where they could hone their talents in safer, more stable environments.

It would only be a matter of time before Sand Rock Country, weakened and vulnerable, fell prey to the ambitions of neighboring powers like Meteor and Tolu Country.

Meanwhile, in the shadowy corners of Sand Rock Country, foreign organizations with hidden agendas watched the unfolding chaos with keen interest.

These organizations had long harbored ambitions to destabilize the nation, knowing full well that chaos within the country would only serve to strengthen their positions. For them, turmoil was an opportunity—a chance to exploit the nationʼs vulnerabilities and expand their influence.

Among these groups, one organization stood out, its intentions more insidious than the rest: the Adventure Union.

Although this powerful entity operated under the guise of a mere branch within Sand Rock Country, its reach extended far beyond the borders, making it a formidable force that few dared to challenge. The Adventure Union was a global network with vast resources at its disposal, and its leaders were nothing if not opportunistic.

In a secluded chamber, far from the prying eyes of the public, the higher officials of the Adventure Union convened.

The air was thick with anticipation as they strategized, their minds calculating how best to fan the flames of the rumors that had already taken root in the populace. Every word spoken was deliberate, every plan meticulously crafted to sow discord and deepen the growing mistrust within Sand Rock Country.

Their goal was clear: to incite internal strife, creating a perfect storm of chaos. If successful, the Adventure Union would move swiftly to seize control of key resources, taking advantage of the governmentʼs weakened state.

The officials knew that in times of chaos, wealth and power could be accumulated quickly by those who were bold enough to act.

The prospect of controlling important resources, from magical artifacts to strategic territories, was too enticing to ignore. The Adventure Union had always been driven by the pursuit of wealth and influence, and this opportunity could provide them with both in abundance.

They were prepared to do whatever it took to ensure that Sand Rock Country remained in turmoil, a battleground that they could manipulate to their advantage.

...

From MCʼs Perspective:

After getting ready, I stepped out of the dorm building, the morning air crisp and cool against my skin. As I made my way towards the Sub-Taboo Hall, I noticed something unusual—no one was bothering me today.

The courtyard was eerily quiet, devoid of the usual bustle of Transformation Hall Wizards who seemed to take pleasure in making my life difficult. It was as if they had all vanished overnight, leaving the path ahead completely clear.

Thinking back to yesterdayʼs absurd encounter, I couldnʼt help but smirk. The drama those wizards tried to stir up had been pathetic, and I was relieved someone had intervened before things escalated. Who knows what I might have done if it had continued? I shook off those unnecessary thoughts and focused on the task at hand, my pace steady as I neared the Sub-Taboo Hall.

It didnʼt take long before I reached the imposing doors of the Hall. As I approached, I couldnʼt help but raise an eyebrow in surprise—the place was deserted. Not a single soul in sight.

This level of emptiness was unexpected, even for a place as secretive as the Sub-Taboo Hall. A knowing smile tugged at the corner of my lips. It had to be the deanʼs doing. He had clearly taken measures to ensure that no one would interfere with us today. The old man certainly had his ways, and for that, I was grateful.

After scanning my ID at the entrance, the massive doors creaked open, allowing me inside. The moment I crossed the threshold, the heavy atmosphere of the Sub-Taboo Hall enveloped me. It was a place of Sub-Taboo Hall members where only the members were allowed to tread.

Meanwhile, I knew exactly why the usual troublemakers were absent. The Wizard Students who had dared to confront me the previous day had been swiftly dealt with by their council elders.

Only the council elders of the Wizard Halls only can make them obey. Even the Elder House Wizards didnʼt have much say.

The warning they received must have been severe enough to keep them at bay. They wouldnʼt dare show their faces here, not after what happened.

With a sense of satisfaction, I stepped deeper into the Hall.
