Evil MC's NTR Harem

Chapter 1256: Chapter 1256 Nurse

That declaration triggered others.

A gust of wind suddenly swept across the street as another person demonstrated their ability.

A faint crackle of electricity followed.

Someone else lifted a chunk of stone slightly off the ground before letting it drop again.

Each display only deepened the divide.

Groups began forming instinctively and those with abilities clustering together, those without stepping back cautiously, watching as if they were suddenly less important in the new world order.

“I’m hungry,” someone muttered again, far too casually for the situation, as if basic survival concerns still outranked reality-breaking phenomena.

Within minutes, more than a million people were no longer a unified group, but a fractured mass of competing voices.

Arguments erupted everywhere at once. Alliances formed in whispers and collapsed just as quickly.

Some people cried. Others laughed in disbelief.

A few simply sat down in silence, staring at their trembling hands, unable to process anything anymore.

Without the old man’s oppressive presence, the fragile order that had existed moments ago completely disintegrated.

The city itself seemed to watch them silently, its empty windows and dark streets offering no guidance.

Far from the center of this growing chaos, Ross Oakley stood in a situation of an entirely different nature.

Dozens of women surrounded him.

They came from different factions… the bunker survivors hardened by isolation, the supermarket group who had learned to scavenge and adapt, and the military base personnel who still carried fragments of discipline in their posture.

All of them were now focused entirely on him. Their expressions were complex.

Confusion. Suspicion. Curiosity.

And something else they were reluctant to admit even to themselves… reliance.

Because unlike the others, Ross Oakley did not look lost.

He looked… composed. Almost as if he had expected this moment.

Whispers circulated among the women.

“Our darling Ross got even more women.”

“We should have expected this.”

“There’s nothing new.”

“Still, we love him completely.”

“We’re waiting, Ross…”

Ross stood at the center of their attention without the slightest sign of discomfort.

His posture was relaxed, his hands loosely at his sides, and his expression carried a faint, controlled smile.

He looked less like someone trapped in chaos and more like someone observing it from above.

He glanced around slowly, meeting their eyes one by one.

Then he spoke.

“Let me explain.”

His voice was calm for the situation they were in.

It carried an easy confidence that made people instinctively quiet down even without authority being declared.

A few of the women straightened unconsciously, waiting.

Ross continued, his smile deepening slightly.

“It’s like this…” Ross began and it took him a long long time to finish and the other hapless people of Earth began to adapt fast.

Everyone quickly became busy with their own tasks.

The massive gathering of survivors that had formed after the destruction of Earth could not simply sit around doing nothing.

People needed food, water, shelter, and security. Men and women formed groups and headed into the wilderness to hunt for animals.

Others searched for edible plants, gathered firewood, or attempted to explore this big city.

The entire area became lively as more than a million survivors tried to adapt to their new reality.

Some were optimistic about the future.

Others were terrified.

Many still could not believe that their old world was gone forever.

Yet life continued regardless of their feelings.

While countless survivors worked tirelessly to secure their next meal, Ross remained with his women and children.

The truth was that Ross had no need to hunt for food.

His personal resources alone were enough to support not only himself but thousands of people for a very long time.

Even if every animal in the surrounding area suddenly vanished, Ross would not go hungry.

However, he had no intention of revealing the full extent of his capabilities.

There was a difference between being powerful and appearing omnipotent.

Ross understood human nature better than most.

The moment people believed someone possessed unlimited resources, they would begin making endless demands.

Gratitude would slowly disappear and entitlement would take its place.

He would rather avoid that headache altogether. That was why he maintained appearances.

To the outside world, Ross and his followers still needed to work for their food just like everyone else.

“Brandon.”

“Yes, Boss.”

Ross looked toward one of his most loyal followers.

“Take some people and go hunting.”

Brandon immediately nodded.

“Understood.”

Ross quickly selected more than a dozen trusted followers to accompany Brandon.

The men gathered their equipment and departed without hesitation.

Many nearby survivors watched them leave.

Seeing Ross’s people participate in the hunting efforts reassured them.

It showed that even powerful individuals were contributing to the survival of the community.

Of course, none of them knew that the hunting expedition was mostly for show.

Even if Brandon returned empty-handed, Ross could easily solve the food problem.

Still, there was value in maintaining normalcy.

After Brandon and the others left, Ross turned his attention toward a far more complicated matter.

His women.

The women from the former Aegis Camp remained relatively calm throughout the discussion.

After all, they had been with Ross the longest. They had witnessed countless unbelievable things.

They had seen him defeat impossible enemies. They had watched him gather powerful followers.

They had experienced firsthand how extraordinary he truly was.

Most importantly, they had already become accustomed to one particular aspect of Ross’s personality.

Women.

Ross had never been the type of man to limit himself to a single partner.

New women seemed to enter his life with surprising frequency.

At first, many of them had struggled to accept that reality.

Now?

They barely reacted anymore.

Some even exchanged amused looks whenever another woman joined Ross’s ever-growing group.

Compared to the destruction of Earth itself, one more woman hardly seemed worth worrying about.

The women from the supermarket survivor group had a much harder time adapting.

Everything felt surreal.

The women from the military camp experienced similar feelings.

Ross’s situation challenged everything they considered normal.

Yet even that was not the biggest shock.

The biggest shock was learning his true identity.

Ross Oakley.
