169: Chapter 169 Not all righteous gods are just.”Boss, I would like to ask for a day off.”

One day, Rona suddenly approached Lin Sheng and made a request for leave.

Lin Sheng raised an eyebrow in surprise and subconsciously glanced at Rona.

Just from this one glance, Rona felt as if it had been seen through by Lin Sheng.

It shifted its body unconsciously, appearing somewhat uncomfortable.

”Have you figured it out? Planning to spend time with that young lady?”

Lin Sheng asked.

The reason he was surprised was that he could see Rona was asking for leave to go out with that elf girl.

Lin Sheng would not stop it from doing so.

However, he was also a bit curious, as Rona had explicitly stated that it was a god and could never be interested in mortals.

Even now, as Rona asked for leave, it displayed a business-like attitude, with absolutely no sense of someone about to go on a date.

”That is not it, Boss.”

Rona shook its head seriously and explained:

”I can see that you, Boss, really want to eat that mortal woman, so I want to have her offer herself to you.”

”That way, you probably won’t eat my flesh every day, right?”

Lin Sheng: ...

He hadn’t expected Rona to be so direct, both in thought and in speech.

”What usually dominates you? Your divinity or your true nature?”

At this moment, Lin Sheng suddenly asked.

Upon hearing this, Rona did not react for a moment.

After all, Lin Sheng changed the subject too quickly; it was just about leave, and now it had shifted directly to its true nature.

However, Rona reacted quickly and spoke without hesitation:

”Before meeting you, my divinity had always been dominant.”

”But after meeting you, under your... your guidance, my true nature began to slowly return.”

Lin Sheng nodded and continued to ask:

”As a True God, why do you have such self-serving thoughts?”

”Shouldn’t True Gods all be kind-hearted?”

Lin Sheng truly hadn’t understood much about this aspect.

Seeing that Rona, a True God, would actually do such a self-serving thing, Lin Sheng didn’t even use ”Omniscience” and asked Rona directly.

”Boss, why would you think that?”

Rona looked at Lin Sheng in disbelief.

In response, Lin Sheng looked at it expressionlessly.

”I am an Evil God, not an Orthodox God.”

”You are right, you are right.”

Seeing Lin Sheng use his identity as an ”Evil God” again, Rona sheepishly withdrew its look of disbelief.

”Boss, you might not know this, but the Orthodox God faction is not entirely composed of kind-hearted individuals.”

”In the past, the Orthodox God faction might have been as you imagined, but that is definitely not the case now.”

”As long as a creature that hasn’t been corrupted becomes a god, it is part of the Orthodox God faction.”

”It is no exaggeration to say that even among those Orthodox Gods with true faith, there is no lack of beings defined by the world as ’evil’.”

”Oh, the Evil Gods haven’t been dealt with yet, and the Orthodox God faction has already started internal strife.”

After hearing what Rona said, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but click his tongue.

He even suspected that these Orthodox Gods already knew that the Evil Gods in this universe couldn’t be dealt with, and had thus begun to give up on themselves.

If that were truly the case, then the living beings of this universe would really be beyond saving.

Unless a powerful external force intervened, this universe would inevitably be devoured by the Evil Gods.

”Alright, I know now. I approve your leave.”

After understanding these matters, Lin Sheng waved his hand at Rona, signaling that it could leave.

Yisa was very happy today because Rona had accepted her invitation.

Yisa stood in front of the mirror, looking left and right, afraid that there was some part of her appearance that wasn’t well-groomed.

After getting everything ready, Yisa picked up the water cup on the table next to her and took a sip of warm water. Her heart gradually calmed down.

While drinking the water, she suddenly remembered what Lin Sheng had said to her earlier in his shop.

Yisa hadn’t taken Lin Sheng’s words at the time to heart at all.

After all, when Lin Sheng was speaking, he was drinking the same water that Rona had just drawn from inside the room.

Moreover, Yisa had been drinking water normally for the past two days and hadn’t noticed anything unusual about herself.

She figured that must have just been the other party joking around.

That was what Yisa thought.

Suddenly, she noticed what looked like an inconspicuous stain on her face.

This wouldn’t do.

Seeing that there was still plenty of time, Yisa quickly went to wash her face again.

The water gently patted Yisa’s cheeks. After feeling it was enough, Yisa lifted her face from the water.

After wiping the water off her face, Yisa opened her eyes and looked into the mirror again.

The stain on her face was gone, but for some reason, Yisa felt that her vision had become a bit strange.

She could clearly see herself in the mirror, but she also had a feeling that her vision was being blocked.

Yisa closed her eyes and then opened them again.

The things in front of her were clearly presented in her eyes, but that feeling of her vision being blocked still persisted.

Yisa anxiously looked around. She had finally managed to get Rona to go out with her, and she didn’t want these inexplicable things to ruin it.

She paced around the room several times. Because there were water stains in the room, Yisa accidentally slipped and fell to the ground.

”Ah!”

She screamed, but fortunately, no one was home today, and her mother hadn’t come over.

Yisa’s father was returning today, and her mother had gone to pick him up.

Yisa quickly climbed up from the ground, ignoring the vision problem, and went straight to the bedroom, intending to change out of the clothes that had been contaminated by the water stains.

She took off the emerald green long dress she was wearing and intended to change into the pale pink long dress on the bed.

But just after the emerald green dress was taken off, Yisa suddenly felt a sense of clarity in her vision.

It was as if something that had been blocking her vision had suddenly been removed.

Looking at herself in the small mirror in front of her, Yisa suddenly let out another scream.

”Ah!”

This scream was filled with terror.

Because she saw in the mirror that, at some unknown point, a terrifying eye had suddenly appeared on her arm.

The size of this eye was no different from a normal human eye, but it was far more terrifying than a normal eye.

The eye had no eyelid; it was entirely white and covered with dense, web-like bloodshot veins.

Yisa looked at the eye on her arm, and the pupil within the eye was also staring at Yisa at this moment.

Yisa clearly felt that not only could she see this eye, but through this eye, she could also see her own face, as well as everything within the eye’s field of vision.

Muttering Rona’s name in her heart, and thinking that she still had a date with Rona later, Yisa forcibly overcame the fear in her heart.

She gritted her teeth and picked up a headpiece on the table next to her that looked somewhat like a ’hairpin’.

She wanted to deal with this eye directly.

However, after gesturing a few times with the hairpin in front of the eye, Yisa became timid.

In the final analysis, this was something growing on her own body.

As an ordinary elf girl, she dared not do such a thing.

After struggling for a while, Yisa finally put down the hairpin.

She put on a thicker dress, adjusted her facial expressions, and left home, heading towards the location she had agreed upon with Rona.

”Ro... Rona, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting.”

The young girl, just like the first time she saw Rona, still stuttered slightly when calling out the other’s name.

”You’re here. I have indeed been waiting for a long time.”

Rona looked at her, and with just this one glance, Rona instantly frowned.

Hearing Rona’s blunt statement and meeting Rona’s furrowed brow, Yisa thought Rona was angry because she was late.

She suddenly felt a bit aggrieved.

Yisa had experienced quite a lot today, and in fact, she had arrived much earlier than the agreed time.

Rather than saying Yisa was late, it was more accurate to say that Rona had arrived early.

Seeing Yisa standing there without speaking, and with an expression on her face as if she were about to cry, Rona immediately felt a headache.

Not knowing what to say, Rona simply said to her directly:

”There is something wrong with your body. Let’s go straight to the church.”

Rona, under Lin Sheng’s influence, now understood one thing.

Don’t just think about solving everything yourself when encountering problems. If one had to do everything personally, what would be the point of the church?

Therefore, upon noticing that something was wrong with Yisa’s body, and since the two of them had nowhere to go, Rona intended to have Yisa go to the church to have it checked out.

”Go to the church? Under the witness of the Ximi God...?”

”No, wait, Rona, you know my body...”

Yisa said in a low voice, her face blushing, but then she suddenly realized something.

Her body had only just developed a problem, and she had clearly hidden it well, so why did Rona know?

At this moment, Yisa recalled the warning Lin Sheng had given her earlier.

Could it be that what Mr. Ye said earlier was true?

”The level of your corruption is still relatively shallow, only physical corruption. It is still in time to go to the church to eliminate the corruption.”

”But if you delay for a while longer and let your consciousness also become corrupted, then, unless a True God personally intervenes, you will be beyond saving.”

Rona’s calm voice reached Yisa’s ears.

Rona had no feelings for Yisa; saying these things was just because Rona didn’t want this ’food’ to be corrupted.

”Is he saying this because he cares about me?”

At this moment, Yisa’s mind was completely immersed in Rona’s ’caring’ words, and she didn’t even notice the indifferent tone in Rona’s voice when mentioning True Gods.

”You don’t want to go to the church?”

Noticing that Yisa was still standing there without moving, Rona asked again, directly and impatiently.

Being able to treat a mortal this way was already Rona’s maximum level of tolerance.

If this mortal continued like this, Rona intended to just leave directly and stop caring about this mortal anymore.
