Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

49: Chapter 49 God?”Is there any other way?”

Lin Sheng thought helplessly to himself, and ”Omniscience” actually provided an answer again.

[Large amounts of strong acid and toxic gas can soften a biological body.]

Lin Sheng pried open the Giant Fish’s mouth. Following the prompt from ”Omniscience,” he stuck his head into the Giant Fish’s mouth, then opened his own, spitting out strong acid and toxic gas together.

After feeling it was about enough, Lin Sheng stopped the delivery of toxic gas and strong acid.

The Giant Fish’s body had already softened by this time. Lin Sheng checked his evolution points.

To be able to eat this Giant Fish, he had consumed a total of over 200,000 evolution points.

However, if he swallowed this Giant Fish, Lin Sheng conservatively estimated that he would gain over 3 million evolution points.

Then, he opened his mouth wide and bit directly into the Giant Fish’s head.

Now the Giant Fish’s body was very soft. Squeezed by Lin Sheng’s mouth, the Giant Fish’s carcass was like dough, slowly being ”squeezed” into Lin Sheng’s stomach.

evolution points +5,874,124

A full 5 million evolution points, 2 million more than Lin Sheng had guessed.

After devouring the Giant Fish, the right half of Lin Sheng’s body was also rapidly repairing itself.

The energy contained in the Giant Fish’s body was incredibly abundant. Lin Sheng not only relied on it to regrow the right half of his body, but the remaining energy even allowed Lin Sheng’s body to grow a bit.

Using his newly grown right claw to scratch at the seabed a few times, Lin Sheng nodded in satisfaction as he looked at the stone he held between two fingers—a common sight on the ocean floor.

After finishing up here, Lin Sheng didn’t stay much longer.

Guided by his heart, he continued swimming in the direction his intuition pointed.

...

The deep sea is a place full of mystery, and the deep sea of three hundred million years ago was even more so.

In a certain sea area brimming with energy.

In this sea area, because the energy was so abundant, the sand and stones on the seabed emitted a faint blue shimmer.

Under the illumination of this shimmer, even a land creature coming here could clearly see the conditions on the seabed.

What was strange, however, was that although this region was full of energy, there were no traces of large biological activity.

The most common creatures here were aquatic organisms between 200 and 300 meters long. These creatures wandered leisurely in this sea area, completely appearing as if they had no worries about survival.

It made sense; with energy so abundant, they only needed to open their mouths and take a gulp of seawater to replenish the energy their bodies required.

The abundant energy caused these creatures to lose their inherent ferocity. Even two natural enemy species, after staying here for a long time, would lose their racial hatred and immerse themselves in this gentle paradise.

But even within this paradise-like sea area, there existed something terrifying.

All creatures in this sea area faced a threshold: a body length of 571 meters.

Once a creature’s body length reached this critical value, it would mysteriously ”dissipate.”

Before dissipating, the creature would go through a process of struggling, but this process was very fast—so fast that the dissipating creature didn’t feel much.

Although the creatures living in this sea area often saw others trigger this ”Fixed Size Dissipation Law,” with their simple minds, they couldn’t possibly understand such a complex thing.

They only knew that energy was abundant here, and living here meant not having to worry about food.

Furthermore, it was very safe, and many creatures from other sea areas would ”come because of its reputation.”

Some of them were smaller creatures that would live in peace after arriving.

But occasionally, larger Predators would also come here.

And so, at this very moment, a creature over 3,000 meters long, looking like a ”Great Eel,” appeared at the edge of this sea area.

This creature had a thick body, with a ring of thick fins at the front—though it would be more accurate to call them tentacles than fins.

After the Great Eel sensed the abundant energy in this sea area, its already crazed consciousness suddenly became even more frenzied.

It twisted its tail and ”plunged” headfirst into these waters.

The moment the Great Eel appeared, the creatures in this sea area experienced a momentary panic.

But the panic lasted only for an instant; the next second, these creatures calmed down.

Creatures even more massive and terrifying than this Great Eel had appeared before, but what happened later?

Later, they too could only follow the ”Fixed Size Dissipation Law”; as long as they came into these waters, they would slowly dissipate within them after a brief struggle.

Seeing that the prey did not flee because of its might, the Great Eel’s crazed consciousness was unable to ponder the reason.

Even if it weren’t crazed, with its massive size, it wouldn’t need to think about these Little Things.

The tentacles around the Great Eel’s body coiled, and large handfuls of creatures were swept into its mouth.

The other creatures not caught by the Great Eel watched this scene calmly, without making a move.

They knew that according to the past Pattern, this big fellow was about to be gone.

Sure enough, just as the Great Eel intended to launch a second attack, its body suddenly twitched violently.

Then, as if it had received some kind of stimulus, the Great Eel began to struggle fiercely.

The surrounding seawater surged; this time, those small creatures actually made moves to dodge.

Silt and sand filled the seabed. The Great Eel’s struggle was incredibly violent, like a final desperate effort before death.

The shadow of death loomed over this Great Eel. It didn’t even know where the danger was coming from, and its life was almost about to leave it.

At the brink of death, the Great Eel seemed to regain some clarity.

It widened its pair of crimson eyes, wanting to see exactly who the enemy was that had killed it.

As its consciousness lingered at the end, the Great Eel saw countless tiny blue lights piercing through its body.

The color of these blue lights was almost identical to the color of the seawater. In this blue-glowing seabed, if one didn’t look closely, no creature would even care about these blue lights.

After the Great Eel died, its consciousness lost its host and died along with it.

But the Great Eel’s dead consciousness did not dissipate; instead, like its body, it was also imprisoned within the blue light.

...

Lin Sheng guided by intuition, arrived at the region of this sea area with the most abundant energy.

After a period of observation, Lin Sheng discovered that in this sea area, the largest creature was only 568 meters long and looked like a ”Mantis Shrimp.”

Lin Sheng found this very strange.

Logically, creatures growing in a place like this shouldn’t be only 500-odd meters long.

After arriving here, even a gulp of water gave Lin Sheng nearly a hundred evolution points, and a small stone on the seabed was worth over a thousand evolution points.

Even if these creatures only ate dirt, they couldn’t possibly be this small.

[There is a Predator nearby; He is part of the reason for this sea area’s existence.]

[The Predator possesses intelligence. He hunts creatures with a body length exceeding 571 meters, absorbing their bodies and consciousness to strengthen Himself.]

Just as Lin Sheng intended to observe the sea area for a while, ”Omniscience” was triggered, and information about this sea area surfaced in Lin Sheng’s mind.

Upon learning this information, Lin Sheng was immediately stunned on the spot.

Given the trigger conditions for ”Omniscience,” if it could provide information about that Predator, then he must already be very close to it.

This was not the reason Lin Sheng was stunned.

The information from ”Omniscience” could be said to be Lin Sheng’s subconscious; he knew exactly what every word of the information provided by ”Omniscience” meant.

Because of this, Lin Sheng was stunned after receiving this information.

Because in the information given by ”Omniscience,” it used the pronoun ”He” for the Predator!

Lin Sheng knew very well what this ”He” represented. He couldn’t help but mutter in his heart:

”Is the Predator here the kind of ’God’ I’m thinking of?”

[No.]

The answer from ”Omniscience” made Lin Sheng sink into thought.

He continued to mutter:

”Then what kind of god is it?”

[?? God]

Due to the lack of a deep connection with the ”God,” ”Omniscience” could not provide deeper information.

Lin Sheng casually asked the system:

”System, what do you think this ’God’ is?”

[Ding]

[The same as you.]

”The same as me?”

Lin Sheng was puzzled.

[Both are low-level biological organisms.]
