To speak of it... it was somewhat laughable.

Wei Yang’s current alchemy skills were, at best, at the peak of Tier 6. In fact, he hadn’t even successfully refined a true peak Tier 6 pill before. So this so-called ”peak” was really just an approximation.

The highest level he had actually achieved was refining a mid Tier 6 pill: the Mixed Bone Molding Pill—and that was it.

Yet his soul realm had far outstripped his alchemy skills.

This kind of situation was undoubtedly rare—almost unheard of.

Most other alchemists always worried about their soul power being too weak, not their alchemy skills.

Because as long as your soul was strong enough, alchemy wasn’t that big of a problem.

Not even talking about inheritance—so long as you had a pill recipe, and enough time and ingredients to experiment and practice, then alchemy would never be a major obstacle.

Experience could be accumulated. Just try a few more times—if three or four attempts didn’t work, then ten or eight surely would.

The reason why so many alchemists couldn’t raise their pill grade and were stuck at bottlenecks for ages was mostly due to the lack of soul power—even more than the lack of inheritance or resources.

Once your soul power was sufficient, the biggest hurdle was gone. As for the smaller problems—well, even a pig could eventually break through a bottleneck if it was given enough time.

But Wei Yang was the complete opposite. He had inheritance. He didn’t lack soul power. The only thing he lacked now... was time.

You could only say that over the years, Wei Yang’s path in soul cultivation had been almost too smooth.

...

Wei Yang gently wrapped his arms around the two women beside him. After some idle chatter and laughter—

His expression gradually turned serious, and he spoke in a low voice:

”My soul has now stepped into the Spirit Realm... but that also means our crisis could come at any moment.”

Hearing this, both women wiped the smiles off their faces and nodded gravely.

The Hall of Souls—it was like a blade perpetually hanging over their heads. No one knew when it might suddenly strike.

They had reached the point where they could no longer afford to ignore or avoid the issue.

If Wei Yang never encountered anyone from the Hall of Souls, that would be one thing. But once he did, with the Hall’s deep mastery over soul-related techniques, it would be nearly impossible to hide his true condition.

Even if Wei Yang intentionally kept a low profile, ordinary people might not notice much—but the Hall of Souls was a different matter entirely.

All it would take was for one Protector to discover Wei Yang’s secret and report it back to headquarters. After that, what awaited them would be the Hall’s insatiable greed... and relentless pursuit.

As long as a soul was of high enough grade, the Hall of Souls would never let it go. They would go to any lengths to capture it.

And someone like Wei Yang—so young, yet already in the Spirit Realm—was absolutely terrifying.

To the Hall of Souls, he might be even more tempting than Yao Lao had once been.

”That’s why,” Wei Yang said coldly, ”We must always be mentally prepared. In the future, if we run into a Hall of Souls Protector, and they even glance my way—don’t waste time talking or testing. Kill them immediately and run.”

”Mm.” The two women nodded firmly.

”Brother Yang, I’m already a Seven-Star Dou Huang. At most, give me another six months, and I’ll definitely reach the peak of Dou Huang,” Xian’er said. ”Give me a year—just one year—and I’m confident I can break through to Dou Zong!”

”One year, huh... isn’t that a little rushed?” Wei Yang frowned slightly.

Even though she had the Ghostly Poison Flame, and had successfully condensed a Void Poison Pill, Wei Yang still didn’t want Xian’er to rush her breakthrough. He worried it might leave some hidden danger for the future.

Xian’er was only nineteen this year. Another year, and she’d just be twenty. How many years had she been cultivating in total?

And she’d already reach Dou Zong?

”Don’t worry, Brother Yang,” Xian’er smiled sweetly. ”I can perfectly control every ounce of power in my body. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be waiting a whole year—I could break through to Dou Zong in six months if I wanted to.”

”...Alright then.” Wei Yang nodded, gently stroking her back. ”As long as you know what you’re doing. But remember—no matter what, you must never leave behind any hidden dangers for the future. If it comes to that, I’d rather take you both to some remote place, hide away, and wait until I’m invincible before we show ourselves again.”

”Heehee.” Upon hearing his words, both girls couldn’t help but giggle softly.

Given Wei Yang’s personality, they had no doubt that if things really got desperate, he would absolutely be capable of doing such a thing.

He never acted out of hot-blooded impulse—he was always calm. Revenge? That could wait a night, even a year. Timing was everything.

Qing Lin raised her tiny fists and said confidently, ”Young Master, I’ll train hard too! At most, in three years, I’ll definitely reach Dou Zong!”

”Mhm.” Wei Yang nodded with a smile and lifted his hand to gently wipe a bit of soot off her face.

He had never doubted Qing Lin’s talent—reaching Dou Zong was entirely within her grasp.

She had only broken through to Dou Ling a month ago, and she was already a Three-Star Dou Ling. She hadn’t encountered any bottlenecks; her cultivation speed was shockingly fast.

Reaching Dou Zong in three years—truly not a difficult task for her.

As for Wei Yang himself, three years from now, breaking through to Dou Zong shouldn’t be a problem either.

By then, Xian’er would probably already be a Dou Zun.

Oh, and there was also that guy, Du Jiao—if properly nurtured, he should at least be at the peak of Dou Zong by then.

Thinking of it that way, three years later, their small group would no longer be weak. They’d have enough strength to protect themselves while traveling across the continent—at the very least, they’d dare to venture into Central Plains.

”Alright then. These next three years, let’s keep a low profile. After three years, we’ll head to Central Plains!” Wei Yang declared decisively.

”Mhm.” The two girls had no objections.

In their hearts, as long as they were with Wei Yang, it didn’t matter where they went.

...

In a secret chamber.

Xian’er and Qing Lin had already left.

Wei Yang sat cross-legged on a cushion. After a brief moment of contemplation, he flipped his palm.

A small jade bottle appeared in his hand.

He opened the lid, and a slumbering soul form floated out, its body shrouded in a faint layer of black flame.

This flame merely enveloped and restrained the soul, without causing it any harm.

A month had passed, yet the soul of the You Hun Zun Zhe remained in deep slumber, showing no signs of awakening on his own.

Clearly, the torture he endured a month ago had pushed him to the brink of collapse.

He probably believed, in his subconscious, that he was already dead—hence, he hadn’t woken up.

Of course, the most crucial reason was the soul-controlling imprint Wei Yang had placed, which continuously suppressed and kept him dormant.

Wei Yang had no choice but to do so—to avoid any accidents.

He lowered his head, his gaze locked on the sleeping, illusory youth’s face.

Previously, thanks to a peak Tier 4 Soul-Nourishing Liquid, the soul’s power had recovered to the level of a low-rank Dou Wang.

But after being burned and tortured by Wei Yang, his soul power now had fallen back to roughly that of a low-level Dou Ling.

Of course, this Dou Ling wasn’t the same as an ordinary one. Even in his weakened state, You Hun Zun Zhe’s soul essence belonged to the Spirit Realm—fundamentally different.

Thus, compared to ordinary Dou Ling souls, it was on a completely different level.

”I’ve delayed this long enough... It’s time to finish this once and for all,” Wei Yang murmured.

He let the soul form float silently in front of him and slowly closed his eyes.

Moments later—

Wei Yang opened his eyes again. With a wave of his hand, a profound soul imprint faintly glowing with dim spiritual light quietly surfaced at the tip of his right index finger.

Flick.

Whoosh—

The imprint shot forward, landing squarely on You Hun Zun Zhe’s forehead and silently merging into the soul, vanishing from sight.

This new soul-controlling imprint, condensed using Spirit Realm soul power, was quickly drawn to the same depth within the soul as the old one, where it settled deep into the soul’s origin.

Ultimately, the new and old imprints merged smoothly, forming a completely new soul mark.

The fused imprint sprouted many tiny tendrils, gradually intertwining and bonding with the original ones.

”A dual-imprint enhanced version... Let’s see you try to escape this time,” Wei Yang thought coldly.

He didn’t care about high probability or expected success—he wanted absolute certainty.

After all, he had too many secrets. Any servant that followed him was bound to be exposed to those secrets.

If that servant one day broke free of his control and defected, Wei Yang would have no time for regret.

Therefore, he could not allow a single slip-up in this process—not when dealing with a Spirit Realm soul, and certainly not one that wasn’t in its initial stage. Even weakened, Wei Yang had to be cautious.

If this went smoothly, he would never again have to worry about the other party escaping or rebelling.

Because Wei Yang was confident—before long, even if faced with the fully recovered You Hun Zun Zhe, he wouldn’t lose in terms of soul power.
