Chapter 1286: Chapter 982: A Name_2

”It’s said that there’s trouble at the factory?”

”Yeah, heard that someone tried to cause trouble, but got their leg broken and dragged out before even entering...”

”Hey, let’s not talk about work, let’s not talk about work.”

Takuma listened impatiently, waved to cut off their conversation, and raised his glass: ”Drink, drink, pity me, an old retired man, still have to be troubled by you guys.”

For a moment, his carefree demeanor about matters not concerning him made everyone angry.

”Hey, who are you looking down on, get me a bigger cup!”

”Is this the attitude to treat a guest to drinks?”

”Boss, bring two more sets over!”

Unfortunately, the rare gathering couldn’t last all night as usual. Halfway through the meal, Yamasita received a call and left in a hurry.

Among the remaining people, some suggested moving to another place for a second round.

Only Takuma shook his head, using age as an excuse, planning not to join.

He slowed down as he was leaving, secretly calling over an old friend.

”Hey, Ueno, are you financially comfortable recently?”

Ueno touched his forehead, paused for a while, quickly reacted: ”You’re not planning to ask for money again, are you?”

”I’ve been watched carefully recently, lend me some!” Takuma pleaded helplessly: ”I’ll pay you back at the next gathering. Oh, don’t tell my wife!”

”You are such a dog, you said that last time too!”

Though somewhat unwilling and reluctant, Ueno still took out his wallet. Before he could get the money, Takuma directly snatched the wallet, stuffed the money notes into his pocket.

”You’re using cards anyway, what do you need change for, I’ll help you get rid of it!”

The old man waved goodbye cheerfully, yet walking a few steps away, he heard Ueno’s helpless voice: ”Hey, Takuma, don’t go to those places.”

”Okay, okay.”

Takuma waved without turning his head, unsure if he heard or not.

Ueno stood there, watched him leave, for a long time, scratched his head helplessly, turned and walked towards the parking lot.

Just as he pulled open his car door, he suddenly heard a distant roar.

The ground suddenly trembled.

Soon, thick smoke, flames, and cries gradually rose, lighting up the night sky.

He froze for a moment, then ran towards the source of the flames, passing through the alley, he saw that bicycle burning amidst fierce fire, and the devastated state of the shops on both sides.

”Hey! Hey! What’s happening!”

He grabbed a dazed passer-by and roared in anger: ”What the hell?!”

”... I, I don’t know.” That frightened hybrid almost collapsed on the ground, pointing to the burning car: ”It was driving just fine, then suddenly exploded, I really don’t know, I don’t know anything.”

The cries awakened the dazed Ueno.

He turned to look at the devastated street, rushed up, recognized each face one by one, shouting Takuma’s name loudly. But no one responded.

Only a child’s cries rose from the thick smoke.

Underneath that white-haired man’s body...

.

.

When Huai Shi received the news and arrived at the hospital, it was already an hour later.

In the corridor, those agitated men gathered together heard the approaching footsteps, turned to see that indifferent face, couldn’t help but straighten up, stood and bowed.

Voices of greeting echoed.

Huai Shi lowered his eyes, looked at the cigarettes between their fingers: ”Put out all the cigarettes, this is a hospital, don’t embarrass yourselves in the corridor!”

”Yes!” Ueno nodded frantically, before anyone else could speak, snatched cigarettes from everyone’s hands, crushed them and threw them out the window, then turned back to smile foolishly at Huai Shi.

”...”

Huai Shi shook his head, looked towards Takuma’s wife and daughter.

The woman bowed respectfully: ”Mr. Huai Shi.”

”No need for formality, Mrs. Takuma.” Huai Shi shook his head, ”Where is he?”

The woman shook her head, looked towards the ward behind her: ”Just came out, not awake yet.”

”What did the doctors say?”

”Still need observation, but luck is good, barely saved his life.” The woman turned back, glanced at her husband sleeping in the ward, her eye rims reddened: ”If he’d been brought in any later, I’m afraid...”

”Good that there’s no issue.”

Huai Shi sighed, glanced at Takuma’s miserable state, after confirming no threat to life, the previously gloom expression gradually calmed down.

Finally, he could only sigh helplessly.

”Told him many times, at such an age, should stop playing those steel balls...”

No response, the old man pleading with a mischievous smile seemed still fresh in memory.

Huai Shi opened his mouth to say something, for a long time, yet said nothing.

Turned to leave.

When he stood at the hospital entrance, he saw the American homeless man squatting beside the fire hydrant.

”It’s not us!”

Lawrence raised his hands, looking innocent: ”Currently Liu DongLi’s jurisdiction, without his permission, no one dares to act recklessly.”

”Then who?” Huai Shi retorted.

”Um...” Lawrence’s expression turned helpless: ”Even we... can’t say that whenever something happens, it has to be us taking the blame, right?”

”What else?”

Huai Shi tapped the cigarette box coldly, the lighter spinning between his fingers: ”Three people died, eight injured, a street affected because of this. A child lost their mother, and my subordinate is still lying in the hospital being rescued...

And then, you come and tell me, it’s not us!

Lawrence, if not you, it must be someone else, if you don’t know, I can call Liu DongLi, anyway, I want a name.”

He lifted his eyes, stared at the man in front, seriously told him:

”A name.”

Under the gaze of those dark eyes, Lawrence’s neck started to feel cold, after pausing, he sighed helplessly: ”Give me some time, three hours.”

”Half an hour.”

Huai Shi said, ”You can move faster, I’ll wait for you.”

Before the words finished, Lawrence disappeared.

Twenty minutes later, the homeless returned, threw a bloodied guy in front of him.

Seemingly unable to feel the pain from broken limbs, that guy still giggled, eyes dazed, indulged in some dream.

”What’s this?”

Huai Shi flipped the person on the ground with his foot, asked knowingly: ”Canaan’s specialty?”

Lawrence sighed: ”This is the guy who put the bomb in the car, a drug-addicted lunatic... didn’t even run far, still injecting himself in the original spot.

His brain is gone, got nothing out of him.”

”So?” Huai Shi glanced at his watch: ”You have nine minutes left, you can keep selling suspense, I have the patience.”

Lawrence rolled his eyes, raised his hands in surrender, no more delay.

”Spirit Reasoning Club.”
