Chapter 1270: Chapter 971: Sudden Upheaval

Thank the Amber’s Alliance Leader

Hell, Silent Zone, Nowhere.

In the restored silence of the stone chamber, several shadowy figures quietly overlooked the shattered stone coffin and the incomplete shell within.

Having lost all its moisture, transformed into a hunched and desiccated corpse.

Most of it had already crumbled into dust.

Only within the cracked skull, in that piece of darkness, a faint light glimmered.

Accompanied by the sound of the door violently opening, Matthes slowly walked in, leaning on a cane, his steps somewhat staggering, the huge crack on his chest not yet fully repaired.

Seeing Woodman’s corpse, he paused for a moment.

”Really dead?”

”After Vitali did this, if not dead, certainly crippled?”

Ye Zhi shrugged, ”Even if he can still hold on, don’t think about stirring up trouble with whatever remains... Lucky I ran far, otherwise if the old man had caught me, I’m afraid I would also be accompanying Woodman.”

”Should we search for traces of the Mirror of Day and Night?” Matthes asked, ”After leaving the Russian Federation Genealogy, Luo Su doesn’t know where he’d hide it... might be hard to find.”

”His backup’s still around; Vitali can’t kill him, can only imprison him.”

Among the several shadowy figures, a low voice suddenly emerged, resonating from Nowhere: ”Let him be quiet for a while first, save having him running around everywhere daily, annoying and upsetting.”

The voice said, ”Next comes the world’s battles, I’ll find an opportunity to destroy the Mirror of Day and Night.”

Matthes shrugged helplessly.

At this point, there was no other choice.

No one could have imagined someone could secretly awaken the Mirror of Day and Night, silent for so many years. Nor could they have imagined that Woodman, originally the strangest among them, would twice capsize in a gutter called Huai Shi.

First time could be brushed aside, but the second time, he’s simply gone...

Now as a meme virus, Woodman can freely traverse and manifest between Current Circumstances, Border, and Hell, existing everywhere through memes left in many people and texts. Even if all those he implanted with memes are killed, if some texts are distributed, it could spread again.

One could say, no weaknesses.

Yet now, all his memes remain, but the ’server’ representing Woodman’s consciousness was carted away by a guy fixing air conditioners at the door.

By the time they realized, the server had already been moved by a scrap collector back home to amuse his grandchild.

Beyond pursuit.

Nothing in the world could be more dismal.

After all, who could have imagined that the formerly disheartened Luo Su, after an unexpected rush of vigor, would become this fierce?

Just like how one day, the War God’s daughter, sold into a brothel, suddenly punched out the ten thousand warriors sent to boost her sales.

Sorry, I was pretending.

I’ve waited seventy years for this day...

In a blink, the old hen turned into a duck, even the version wasn’t the same.

Where could one find reason in all this?

Now, no one would treat Luo Su as an overreaching Joker anymore, just like nobody would truly see Sword of Disaster as a face-selling Cowherd.

The rebuilding of the Heavenly Kingdom Genealogy has nearly finalized.

To the Golden Dawn, this is no longer a minor ailment but a major threat to their core.

Similarly, as remnants of Utopia... their fates had long been decided, relentless against each other.

It’s foreseeable that in the upcoming world battles, there will be many matches between the two sides.

Everyone must be in full readiness.

Matthes pondered for a moment and asked again, ”With Woodman gone, what about the part of the plan he was responsible for?”

”Hand it over to Edward White,” that voice said, ”If necessary, Bennett could assist from the side?”

The sinister Awakeners holding Buddha Beads nodded slowly, showing no objection.

”First time doing a messenger’s job.”

The Solidifiers known as Edward sighed, donning his cloak, ”I’ll do my best, but don’t expect excellent work from a temporary hire.”

”Just do your best,” the voice said, ”With every effort comes results.”

”I’ll do my best.”

Edward’s expression grew increasingly helpless, though unwilling, he said nothing more and turned to leave.

”What about the Heretic King?”

Bennett asked, ”How are the injuries?”

”Resting in the Sweet Dew Pool, the foundation is damaged, but it’s not overly severe,” the voice said, ”A period of rest will suffice.”

”Time is tight, during this period, everyone must fulfill their duties.”

”Double hardship, double toil.”

Quoting Shakespeare’s lines, Matthes sighed, ”Who would have guessed that in Hell, one would still have to work overtime?”

The temporary meeting concluded.

Once those figures gradually left, Matthes remained in place, leaning on his cane.

In the long silence, he didn’t speak.

Quietly inspecting the tragic state of his companions, he waved his hand, sealing the body back into the stone coffin, awaiting the future.

”Viscount, are you still there?”

He suddenly asked.

”I am.”

The voice from Nowhere sounded again.

A voice descended once more from the Ruler, who had long become one with this mobile Current Circumstances, eternally calm: ”What is it?”
