Chapter 1240: Chapter 946: Farewell_3

Not far away, a little boy peeking over the wall huffed angrily.

”All go away! All go away!” he shouted furiously, ”I don’t care anyway!”

”...”

At the door, the other residents who had come to bid farewell exchanged glances helplessly, unable to suppress their soft laughter.

”Go quickly, young man.”

The gardener waved his hand, ”If you keep dawdling, the old folks will really get angry.”

Huai Shi nodded respectfully to say goodbye.

Holding the girl’s hand, he turned and left.

The journey was smooth and unimpeded, without any further unexpected occurrences.

Yet Huai Shi noticed the trembling fingers of the girl beside him.

He lowered his head and asked, ”Are you reluctant to leave, Anna?”

”Mom and Dad said I can’t stay here anymore.” Anna looked back at the smiles of blessings behind her, lowered her head, uneasy, ”I’m just a little scared... the outside world, a world without Mom, Dad, and Grandpa Vitali, is very frightening.”

”But there are people outside waiting for you too.”

Huai Shi answered softly, ”Archbishop Yekaterina and Mr. Aleksey, they are all waiting for you to come back. With them around, you won’t be afraid anymore.”

”But I’ve been gone so long, will the teacher be angry?”

”Maybe?”

Huai Shi was a bit uncertain, but soon, he smiled, ”But she will surely forgive you, as long as you sincerely apologize.”

Anna thought for a moment and nodded forcefully, ”I will.”

”Then let’s go.”

Huai Shi held her hand, walked towards the final path, and never looked back.

Walked towards the outside world.

.

Inside the silent chapel, there was the sound of hurried breathing.

The teenage girl sleeping in the wheelchair twitched her eyelids, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

As if waking from a nightmare, she opened her eyes, gazing at the old man in front of her, for a long time, just like many years ago, she showed a clear smile, no longer displaying madness and hatred.

”I’m back, Teacher.” She murmured softly, ”I’m sorry, I’m late.”

In the long silence, Yekaterina reached out, caressed her cheek, and gently wiped away her tears. Although she tried hard to maintain a stern expression, she could not hide the tenderness and joy in her eyes.

”Welcome back, Aniya.”

.

.

At the moment of stepping out of the Mirror of Day and Night, Huai Shi only felt a sudden emptiness in his hand.

The girl he was holding evaporated like mist.

If it weren’t for remembering everything that just happened, he might have thought it was an extraordinarily strange dream.

But when he gathered his courage to look back again, he found the image in the large mirror behind him also looking at him, arms crossed, leaning against the mirror’s frame.

However, this time there was no more bizarre sight.

It merely raised its hand, tossing something towards Huai Shi.

Huai Shi stretched his hand to catch it and saw a crystal-clear broken crystal in his palm.

It was like a fragment of a mirror, within it flowed brilliant colors, ever-changing, dazzling and captivating.

”What is this?”

He examined the crystal in his hand, puzzled.

”Just consider it as a local specialty present from everyone, but it seems we’ve forgotten to include an instruction manual, so how to use it is up to you.” The reflection in the mirror waved goodbye, ”Farewell, Huai Shi.”

Huai Shi smiled, ”Wouldn’t saying ’see you again’ be better?”

”Bah, who wants to see you again...”

Accompanied by the reflection’s words, the magnificent and immense mirror suddenly manifested countless diamond-like facets and edges, swiftly folding and contracting, finally converging into a dazzling gemstone, which broke through the bind of darkness, soared skyward, and disappeared.

Only Huai Shi remained standing there, holding the memento, for a long time without withdrawing his gaze.

In his soul, the front page of the Book of Fate once again experienced a new transformation.

The long-quiet entry trembled slightly, blurred for a moment, and soon became clear again.

Surpassing the limits of mortals, transcending the pinnacle reachable by genius, after gathering countless mirrored recognitions and risks, what emerged was a skill undergoing another monumental metamorphosis.

It was at a peak unreachable by anyone after thoroughly traversing the entire realm.

Even in the Hell Music Association, it was an unprecedented height.
