Chapter 1238: Chapter 946: Farewell

Surprise.

At this moment, within the Mirror of Day and Night, Huai Shi couldn’t find any word to describe his current mood; he was so excited his hands almost trembled.

His heart danced with spasms of joy.

As the grand and majestic cello melody began, he was overwhelmed by the power contained within it, almost worshipful, immersed entirely in the vast melody.

Never before had he experienced such a fulfilling and ecstatic performance.

Nor had he ever imagined he could possess so many selves.

So many differences and disparities.

Obviously distinct, yet when the performance began, everything merged seamlessly into one. Even if he wanted to resist, wanted to reject, he could not deceive himself.

Never had he imagined that such myriad transformations and emotions could integrate into the melody.

Those greedy, malicious, generous, sacred, obsessed, fervent, even indulgent and rigid... countless and unparalleled interpretations.

When all these merged into one, what was formed was the ensemble that left Huai Shi trembling.

In the most extravagant dreams, such a glorious performance had never appeared.

After forgetting joy and sorrow, he was completely immersed in the melody.

Utterly selfless.

As numerous turbulent Source Substances merged into the melody at the same place, it provoked an unprecedented impact within the Mirror of Day and Night, spreading waves, opening Chaos, revealing a new heaven and earth.

Vast skies spilled sunlight and dew, while tender sprouts and springs emerged on the barren earth.

The vigorous vitality of spring filled everything, making the mountains lush, rivers surge, the sea waves roll, and moist winds blew from afar.

Flying Birds spread their wings, gliding through the sky, overlooking the boundless earth.

When the summer storm roared in, everything once again welcomed a new Metamorphosis, with the scorching sun and bright moonlight rotating, rainstorms and Thunder mingling, hurricanes and lightning racing.

After the desolation and melancholy of autumn, the first chilling wind howled from afar.

Huai Shi’s ten fingers felt the void’s coldness.

Snowflakes descended from the melody, while the low hum became increasingly high-pitched, as if the speed of wind and snow, frozen frost bursting into crisp echoes.

The vast heavens and earth were covered by pale wind and snow, yet everything seemed so grand and profound.

As the final allegro concluded the vigorous ensemble of countless cello melodies, it all escaped Huai Shi’s control.

Even as the enduring echoes dissipated in the wind.

The revolving seasons remained vivid and alive, seemingly imbued with life, evolving countless creations once again.

Between the new heaven and earth, Huai Shi raised his head, bathed in the wind blowing from afar.

Behind him, none of the mirrors spoke anymore.

Only raised their eyes from the strings.

Smiling, gazing silently at everything ahead.

Created by all the versions of himself...

”This world is truly beautiful.”

Huai Shi murmured softly.

”Indeed.”

Beside him, a silent smoking mirror shrugged, ”This is a scene I couldn’t create... This alone, I must admit.”

He said, ”You did well.”

Huai Shi smiled, nodding proudly, ”Of course.”

The mirror shook its head unhappily, ”Tch, it’s not like you did it all alone, what are you proud of?”

”But aren’t they all me?”

Huai Shi turned around, looking at him, at the mirrors behind him.

”So, the result?” Huai Shi asked.

”Less oversleeping, more practice.”

The Saint clicked his tongue in disdain, ”Don’t think waving a knife around a bit will do.”

”Eat more, with so little to raise fish every day? Uncle Fang isn’t the one lacking.”

”... I’ve no objection to anything else, but shouldn’t you work on your emotional state?”

”Ha, women only slow my practice, I think I’d be better off cutting them off.”

”Dream on, I’m still a virgin!”

”Honestly, I’m tempted to ruin a woman.”

”Absurd, what’s wrong with Lily!”

”When will we brothers of the same party rise up?”

”Ha, it’s still Ai Zong spoiling you too much...”

”Call Senior Sister more often.”

”Remember, be careful with firewood... Forget it, after all, you don’t have the guts for it.”

”Cut more heads, you’re getting rusty.”

Along with those farewell words, the mirrors vanished one by one into refracted crystal light, until only the most wicked mirror remained beside Huai Shi.

Silently smoking, casting him a sidelong glance, his eyes filled with annoyance.

But in the end, still couldn’t help but sigh.

”Fine, I know you won’t be a bad guy, but at least don’t be stingy when spending for the monthly card next time, it’s infuriating.” He lifted his hand, patting Huai Shi’s shoulder, ”Don’t leave regrets anymore, Huai Shi, learn to love yourself.”

With that, the final mirror took a step back, waved to Huai Shi, and turned to leave.

In the empty world, once again only Huai Shi was left alone.

After an unknown amount of time, everything gradually dimmed again.

When Huai Shi raised his eyes again, he was already standing on a wide road, in some ancient yet bustling town.

Beside Huai Shi, in the nursery in front of the small house, the middle-aged man watering the garden looked up at him, seemed surprised, but soon his expression turned to realization.
