Chapter 1236: Chapter 944: Huai Shi_2

A helpless sigh came from behind Huai Shi.

”Ah, Fool...”

Tong Ji!

”You finally decided to show up!”

In an instant, Huai Shi was overjoyed and turned his head to look behind him... but there was no reassuring bad woman, only an empty elevator.

And the elevator’s smooth mirror-like surface.

In the mirror’s reflection, Huai Shi’s bewildered face was projected, then gradually, a mocking smile emerged.

”Hello, Holy Mother Bitch! Are you surprised?”

The other Huai Shi said cheerfully, ”Can you believe it? Even now, you hope that a woman who treats you like a tool will come to save you? How absurd.”

Huai Shi’s vision went dark.

Damn it, why does an Authority Relic have so many tricks!

”Oh, do you think the Authority Relic is tricking you now?”

The projected Huai Shi leaned against the doorframe, scrutinizing his ghostly expression: ”And why didn’t Luo Su tell you this crucial intel?

Isn’t it obvious? No one would think that old thing Luo Su would actually trust someone, right?”

”Don’t joke around, Huai Shi, he’s using you!”

The reflection emerged from the mirror, leaning its body out, looking down at his face from mid-air: ”Look, a top-quality tool, a pure fool, used by others since birth, who wouldn’t like you?

Fu Yi, who treats you as an emotional dumpster? Ai Qing, who treats you as a consumable? Lily, who acts so pitiful that you throw yourself into the breach? Luo Xian, who doesn’t even know what love is?

Or Tong Ji, who hasn’t even told you her purpose yet?” The reflection asked puzzledly, ”Huai Shi, why do you always have unrealistic expectations of people?”

”...”

In the brief silence, Huai Shi slowly raised his hand and said seriously, ”Excuse me, may I interrupt to ask you a question?”

”Ask away.”

The reflection tilted its head, fetched a cigarette from its pocket, lit it by rubbing its hands, and blew smoke towards his face: ”Do you really think I’d be kind enough to clear up your confusion?”

”No, I’m just really curious.”

Huai Shi said, ”If you’re me, then I should also be you... If I’m currently in a split state, then you should also be a part of ’Huai Shi’.”

”So, we should both clearly understand each other’s nature.”

He clapped his hand and curiously asked:

”—Why do you think I’d take your bullshit seriously?”

The reflection paused, only to see Huai Shi reach out, smoothly removing the cigarette from its mouth, taking two puffs himself, feeling no difference in taste.

Then from his pocket, he took out another pack and looked at the reflection’s pocket.

”Wow, one pack becomes two!”

Huai Shi exclaimed, ”Can these things be taken out?”

”Still daydreaming at this point, Huai Shi?”

The reflection sneered, glancing at his naive look: ”Isn’t it crystal clear to you? The moment you saw the Mirror of Day and Night, you were already in a split.

No one can help; Luo Su kicked you into the pit, and from then on, you’d sleep forever... and Luo Su would take your hard work, your efforts, and finally, when you’re dead, shed some fake tears at your funeral holding your Book of Fate, achieving great success, to rebuild the Heavenly Kingdom Genealogy.”

He paused, leaned closer, and asked softly in Huai Shi’s ear, ”So, think for yourself—”

The reflection took a deep breath and roared:

”—Aren’t you a fucking idiot?!”

”I’m the idiot, what does that make you?” Huai Shi rolled his eyes, unmoved: ”You’re so clever, so impressive, with such a loud voice, are you hoping I’ll argue back?”

”How did I end up being one with an idiot like you?”

”Do you think I’m willing? If it weren’t for you recklessly engaging with that broken thing, would I be stuck in this pathetic state?”

”Let me guess?”

Huai Shi smoked the cigarette snatched from the reflection: ”According to usual plotlines—only one of us two can walk out intact, right?”

”You’re so smart, then why not guess why, out of the people who engaged with it, ten out of ten became brain-damaged after getting out?”

The reflection screamed into Huai Shi’s ear: ”Because I refuse!!! Listen carefully, I! REFUSE!”

”As stubborn as expected, truly worthy of being me!” Huai Shi applauded in admiration: ”So, there’s no other solution, right?”

The reflection sneered: ”You kneel and beg me, I might consider it.”

”Kneeling in front of a mirror and kowtowing to oneself? I’m not that narcissistic, am I?”

Huai Shi laughed, flicking the last ashes away and extinguishing them under his foot: ”Just a question, if I let you out, what would you do?”

”Of course, abandon evil and embrace good, be a new person!”

The reflection solemnly promised, but laughed before finishing, ”Do you believe me if I say that? Give it a rest, Huai Shi, why be such a bitch to yourself too?

Don’t you know what you’re thinking? Haven’t you been tempted by those thoughts frightening even to yourself?”

He draped an arm over Huai Shi’s shoulder, whispering softly in his ear: ”So many opportunistic moments missed, haven’t you regretted it?

Imagine, just by asking, you could make them do whatever you want... no matter how dirty your thoughts, they could be easily realized, with enough finesse, two, three, four would be no problem!

Moreover, the power you deserve, the strength you should wield, the wealth you should possess... imagine how much you missed out, Huai Shi, Huai Shi, Huai Shi, I’m Huai Shi too, why should the things you don’t want not be for me? Why can’t I be satisfied while you endure?”

”I also have many moral arguments to tell you, but you’d surely scoff.”

Huai Shi indifferently shook his head, looking up: ”So, let’s skip the nonsense and settle our differences with skill.”

He said: ”Right here, let’s decide who’s the real Huai Shi.”

”Good idea!”

The reflection spread its arms, laughing heartily, stepping back as its smile twisted into something ferocious: ”But why do you think there’s only one reflection of me here?”

At that moment, Huai Shi heard a voice from behind.

Holy light emerged, dividing the void and darkness.

Under countless rays of glory, it was as if a God had descended.

A familiar figure walked out of the light, looking down pityingly at Huai Shi and the reflection.

Just like watching some non-burnable trash, filled with regret and pity.

”—You all, repent!”
