Chapter 1198: Chapter 912: Power of the Tides

”Name?”

”Aba aba aba...”

”Age?”

”Aba aba aba...”

”Gender?”

”Aba aba aba...”

...

Ten minutes later, Huai Shi sat on the ground, legs crossed, scrutinizing the bizarre assemblage before him, which seemed to need several layers of pixelation, and finally gave up asking questions.

It seemed impossible to glean anything useful.

He sighed towards the sky, unable to resist scratching his head.

”—So what the hell did I end up creating?”

”Aba aba aba...”

That blob of idiocy drooled, and with the severance of Source Substance, vanished without a trace.

An hour ago, Current Circumstances, 1 AM.

South side of Tanbo District, seafront, tidal power station, bottom, in a vast underground space.

In the expansive, unfinished space, countless cables lay crudely exposed, and at the center were several football-field-sized empty areas, along with a straight path extending into the darkness.

Even though famous electrical corporations from the Border provided power supply, aside from emergency situations and the intense electricity demands of small-scale important institutions, this method still lacked cost-effectiveness for supplying the entire city.

Therefore, under immense demand, the Tanbo Group collaborated with the Guanshan Group to introduce the Yingzhou power grid.

But to avoid being constrained by others, they still partnered with Ivory Tower’s construction group to build several power stations for contingency needs.

Now, key departments and experimental institutions can self-supply electricity.

Half a month after returning from Helios, Huai Shi finally arrived at this power station that hadn’t been fully completed. But his work was not inspection; it was testing.

Testing his own ability limits.

Scholars from Ivory Tower had already included this in a temporary observation framework, busy adjusting instruments in the distance.

Awaiting the presentation of data.

When the rumbling sound around finally ceased, Huai Shi was still slowly circling and moving his body, exhaling hot air from mouth and nose, leaving a long trail under the spotlights.

What was even more astonishing were the piles of spent casings under his feet and the dozens of discarded machine guns around him.

After the barrels melted hot, those heavy machine guns were completely unresponsive, sparking electrically, while the ammo reserves sufficient for a small war were now as empty as Huai Shi’s wallet used to be.

Empty and desolate.

Everyone remained immersed in the scene just now, silent.

On the playback monitor, dozens of intersecting fire tongues locked onto Huai Shi, the bullets flying at incredible speed forming a straight line, enveloping the entire underground space.

Even with sixteen massive ventilation fans rapidly rotating, it was impossible to exhaust the pungent smell of gunpowder in a short time.

The terrifying firepower had already pulverized the temporary fortifications in the arena.

Yet, it couldn’t catch up with Huai Shi’s heels.

”...Miscalculated.”

Examining the data, the scholar shook his head: ”What’s being tested isn’t speed, but reaction ability—already detected the moment the machine guns aimed. Such data is fundamentally meaningless for reference, especially when the Overload State wasn’t even used.”

”Need to add weight?”

Under double artificial gravity, Huai Shi asked, ”I can still handle it.”

”It’s unnecessary, no need for that. From what we see, speed in normal conditions has already surpassed nine hundred kilometers per hour. With your endurance, you should maintain it for over half an hour, right?”

”Pretty much.”

”According to program estimates, in Overload State, the extreme value should reach seven thousand kilometers per hour...

Racing with missiles? This is already at the Fourth Stage, and requires Source Materialization first. To reach this level purely with physical prowess would require top-level Sublimators specializing in speed.”

The scholar flipped a page and continued: ”Neural reflex time has become infinitely close to none, similar to post-Source Materialization... We should move onto the power testing phase.”

”Wasn’t this phase tested before?” Huai Shi asked, puzzled.

”The previous approach was entirely wrong. For Sublimators who have mastered this ’Extreme Interpretation’ you mentioned, specific values become meaningless, besides, we can’t transport durable machines from our school at the moment.

Thus, we plan to make the results more intuitive.”

In the observation room, the scholar said: ”It’s not just about the size of output, but also efficiency and durability in utilization—”

As he spoke, the deft installers finally completed their work.

On the huge steel base before Huai Shi, a heavy handle was welded to it.

Huai Shi reached out, tried pulling twice, and found it unmoving.

”What’s this?” Huai Shi asked.

”A special grip prepared for you, sir,” the scholar pushed his glasses, saying happily: ”The entire base is connected with the power station’s equipment. Theoretically, your power can be distributed to every corner of the power station.

But please don’t use brute force, since although the connection rod material is an alloy with excellent force transmission efficiency, its hardness and toughness are far lower than ordinary special steel materials.
