Chapter 1191: Chapter 909: The Stars, My Final Resting Place (Part 2)

.

.

When after a period of time, the nearest Rome Space Station Minerva appeared before our eyes once more, all the survivors couldn’t help but shed tears of emotion and cheer.

And Helios had been hollowed out by Huai Shi.

Under the guidance of Fish Ball, he utilized the guidance of the Grandmaster and the Mystic Rituals, partitioning Helios’ main structure and important items into six batches and sending them towards the Town of Dusk.

As for the most crucial part of the Godly Mystery, it was inherited by Fish Ball. The remaining useful part was thoroughly scavenged by Beelzebub.

Now, aside from the shell later built by the Alchemists, it was basically empty.

Huai Shi stood quietly in the spacious hall, looking around, feeling as if it were a lifetime ago.

”It’s time to go, Huai Shi.” Tong Ji reminded.

”What will happen here next?” Huai Shi asked.

”After losing the blessing left by God, and also being cleansed by us, Helios now is just a few tens of thousands of tons of scrap iron, valuable but worthless to the Current Circumstances.”

Tong Ji said: ”The fuel and processing costs to bring it back are also an issue, and if not careful, the Stone Pot Society might get hold of it and create more trouble.

So, it’s better to pretend we don’t see it. It will most likely be treated like a foreign meteorite, given necessary monitoring, and left in orbit around Jupiter.”

”That’s fine too.”

Huai Shi nodded, sighing lightly: ”Let it rest undisturbed.”

He turned to walk towards the exit, but suddenly his footsteps halted.

”What’s the matter?”

”Just a moment.”

He patted his head, rummaging through his pockets and backpack, searching all day until he finally found it in his pocket.

”When I beat up Publius earlier, I picked up something that seemed like no one wanted it.”

Huai Shi ’casually’ handed the golden apple in his hand to Tong Ji, ”I have no use for it. Do you want it?”

Tong Ji didn’t rush to take it; instead, she let out a strange laugh.

She scrutinized Huai Shi.

The corner of her eyes lifted.

”Heh heh heh, you’re quite a devious fool.”

”Hmm?” Huai Shi was puzzled.

”In the past, having this item would make people willingly spend a night with the goddess just for asking.” Tong Ji leaned in, blinking with curiosity, ”Are you harboring some strange thoughts about me?”

”No, get lost.”

Huai Shi rolled his eyes, too lazy to mind her: ”If you don’t want it, I’ll throw it away.”

”Hehe, since you’re asking me to take it, I shall graciously accept your mortal offering. Even if you regret, it’ll be to no avail.”

Tong Ji extended her hand, swiftly taking the golden apple from him, tossing and admiring it in her hand.

Then, she skillfully took out her phone, posing from various angles, starting... selfies.

Click click click, the flash continuous.

And opened a heap of social media apps to post updates...

Your goddess, any issues up there?

Huai Shi rubbed his forehead, a complex expression on his face.

”...By the way, what is this thing actually for?” he asked, ”Does it have any miraculous function?”

”Ah? This?” Tong Ji was puzzled, ”Of course it’s meant to be eaten.”

”Eaten?”

”Yeah, eaten.”

She nodded in response: ”This is just an apple, Huai Shi. No matter how divine, it is just an apple; you shouldn’t think it’s mighty just because it looks golden.”

Apples are, of course, meant to be eaten.

As she spoke, she casually wiped the apple which had been washed by Huai Shi several times, took a bite, and a crisp sound echoed, with rich juice flowing along the chew, bringing a long-missed delightful experience.

”Mmm, this is the flavor!”

She happily squinted her eyes.

Revisiting the sweetness of the past in this world that no longer belongs to her, as if going back to yesterday.

Sadly, the era of gods has long ended.

She lamented for it, regretted it, yet felt that such a world was not bad.

”Would you like a bite?”

Tong Ji turned around, offered it to the Contractor beside her: ”It tastes really nice.”

Huai Shi stared at the golden apple in front, hesitated for a long time.

Reluctantly nodded.

”...Alright.”

[Third Phase Report of the Helios Incident]

...Current Circumstances time, 1:32 AM.

Harmless confirmation of Element of Destructive prototype number 009 · Helios, light god Balder self-extinct, ’Apophis’ hides again into the unknown...

The Element of Destructive did not form.

According to investigation, it confirmed the deaths of Grandmaster Garland and Publius, the original Helios chief He Di is missing...

...The detailed situation above has been investigated and reconstructed from the survivors and has been presented by Second-Class Military Officer Huai Shi to the relevant report, please see the attachment.

Judging that Helios power is broken and has no maintenance value, it is recommended to follow the standard handling plan for six standard periods of observation, then abandonment.

The accident investigation team is about to wrap up, waiting for further instructions.

[Central Decision Room of the Jurisdiction Bureau Response]

Suggestion accepted, following matters transferred to space buffer floor. Observation task transmitted to Harper Telescope Number 87 Team... Investigation team withdrawn.

.

Meanwhile, on the Moon, countless heavy mass cannon acceleration rings gradually dimmed, under gravity’s traction, along with the massive Moon returning to its original position.

Took seven standard days.

And subsequent impacts including tidal disturbances and gravitational abnormal magnitude on the Current Circumstances will be taken over by the Existence Institute; resolving specific risks would be two months later.

Including economic loss and astronomical phenomenon abnormalities, the resulting chain reactions are countless yet remained under wraps in darkness under the Astronomical Society’s interference.

Thus, the Helios incident concluded.

Apart from six observation station periodic tasks and Harper Telescope’s permanent observation, no one inquires.

The vast emptiness of space resumed its silence.

Beyond the Current Circumstances, in the hell surface’s void sea, in the dark universe, Jupiter continues its silent rotation, with the somber remains of Helios drifting quietly in the eternal storm.

Like the faint glimmer within the Demon’s Eye.

In its depths, where once burned the warm firelight in a secluded corner, tranquility is restored.

The scattered books have been rearranged, dilapidated furniture repaired, whether it’s water bottles, empty boxes, old photographs or pushcarts... Those items once treasured by someone are now solemnly displayed within.

On the old sofa, a skeleton lies peacefully in dust, in silent slumber.

Accompanied by a bouquet of pure white iris flowers.

Forever...
