Chapter 1186: Chapter 705: Life, the Universe, and Everything (Part 1)

”You’re... not afraid of killing him for real?”

Zeus, on the contrary, was worried.

”Don’t worry, for him, dying once or twice isn’t a big deal.”

Tong Ji waved her hand carelessly, lowered her head, and gazed at Huai Shi’s face: ”Should I say you’re lucky or unlucky?

It just so happens there’s a Rejuvenation Crystal here; what’s left is simply advancing a part of the ritual ahead of time, with an added protagonist-level service of ’Bone Refining and Marrow Cleansing’ commonly found in fantasy novels. You wouldn’t object, would you?

This is a rare blessing from the gods. I believe in you, my dear brother.”

Before she finished speaking, the sword-sharp parasitic galla plunged into Huai Shi’s chest.

A vast roaring outburst surrounded the void sun atop Helios, which suddenly trembled, beginning a violent contraction, along with endless radiance, inward.

Before the phenomenon of the Springs of Rejuvenation appeared, it had already flowed into Huai Shi’s body, infiltrating every part, illuminating the eternal darkness of the Ruins.

Finally, it merged into the deepest part of the soul!

Under the illumination of the light, the crown atop Tong Ji’s head resurfaced, once again showcasing its majesty from under the phantom.

Stretching her hand to command this god-forged miracle, she solemnly declared: ”Here, you shall reenact the death of Balder, to return this godly power and authority to the world!”

This will was instantly conveyed to the core of the Current Circumstances through the resonance between the light and the Current Circumstances.

It was a choice akin to that of a whale fall.

At the cost of the god’s own fall, return the power that forged itself, once again giving back everything to the entire Current Circumstances—at this moment, as the vessel of divine power, Huai Shi would also be considered part of it, inheriting the correction value brought by the whale fall.

And the cost is the soul being dissolved by divine power.

Transformed into a gentle rain of light, flying towards the Current Circumstances...

”You’re not going to try to save him?” Zeus was stunned: ”Once the divine power returns to the Current Circumstances, his soul will be completely split into countless parts, returning to the Sea of Silver, and by that time, there’s no saving him!”

Tong Ji laughed: ”Oh dear, are you worried about my contractor?”

Zeus was speechless.

Although he found the woman in front of him extremely unpleasant, hoping she would have some ill fate, preferably falling into the Abyss, he surprisingly... felt Huai Shi’s death was too much of a waste.

Such a valuable soul could surely shine brightly across human generations, couldn’t it?

Even without the protection of miracles, it would surely be able to emit its own brilliance.

”Rest assured, this isn’t over yet, Zeus... My contractor is not merely that.”

Tong Ji looked up, seizing the rare opportunity to reach the Central Pillar of God Marrow once again, and issued the previous wish.

”So then, once more—”

She smiled and spoke the incantation: ”Let ’Hela’ fulfill her wish!”

This is what makes Huai Shi, as the carrier of the [Mystic Ritual·Death of Balder], truly important and truly irreplaceable.

Forcibly reenacting events that have happened in history.

Ultimately reaching a destined outcome.

——Return the soul of ’Balder’ to ’Hela’!

So, in that instant, among the near-endless rain of light in the universe, within countless minute soul fragments, suddenly a part, under the power of the mystic ritual, came together, forming the phantom of a White Deer, and flew swiftly towards the Current Circumstances!

Almost in a snap of fingers, it disappeared without a trace.

Meanwhile, in the Border·Darknet, deep within a vast library, a teenage girl suddenly awoke from that terrifying dream, subconsciously whispering: ”Mr. Huai Shi?”

Before that, light had crossed the boundary between the Border and the Current Circumstances, piercing straight through countless defenses, skimming past the frameworks of the three Creators, and descending before the girl, once again transforming into the form of a White Deer.

Lily looked up in surprise, examining the familiar-looking White Deer before her.

The White Deer also gazed at her.

It approached, sniffed her scent, and then gently nudged her cheek, once, and once again.

Finally, when the three Creators arrived in alarm, they saw the White Deer resting by the girl’s side, gently munching on the book pages she fed, guarding her safety.

”What is this?” KP scratched his head: ”Why does my identification interface show that this thing is Huai Shi?”

DM smiled, shaking his head without a word.

ST remained silent for a long time, sighing with resignation: ”Just treat it as a gift sent by that lad, don’t worry about it.”

The three of them stared at this scene from afar, and after a long while, they turned away silently.

.

”You think this is the end?”

And just then, atop Helios, Tong Ji gazed in the direction where the White Deer disappeared, smiling: ”Then, let Ai Qing’s wish be fulfilled!”

Thus, following the workings of the mystic ritual, within the rain of light, an illusion once again condensed, forming the projection of the Incendiary Bull, flying towards the Current Circumstances.

In the Astronomical Society, Asian Jurisdiction Bureau of Decision, within the busy empty floors, alarm bells suddenly blared, with scarlet light flashing violently.

Immediately, countless light shadows rose, enveloping the building. Yet that descending blaze from the sky swiftly threaded its way through the gaps between the frameworks, crashed through the walls, and stormed into the solemn office.

Soon, in the gusting wind, Ai Qing stared expressionlessly at the Q-version calf bowing obediently before her, then turned to glance at the Casting Iron Army that stormed in.

She irritably lit the cigarette at her lips, unable to hold back a sigh:

”You really love giving me trouble, don’t you, you rascal...”

.

On Helios, the Broken Dog pretending to be dead was suddenly lifted by Tong Ji, as he was about to show an ingratiating look, he saw the cheerful smile from his big sister.

Immediately, the world spun around.

He was rudely swung up, thrown towards the universe beyond Helios.

Accompanied by words from Tong Ji:

”Let Fu Yi get what he desires!”

And then, the Behemoth once again transformed into the Hammer of Sorrow, absorbed a part of the soul... broke through the defenses of Empire University, triggered an attack alert, and landed in the classroom where a lecture was taking place.

Sticking out its tongue, bewildered by the surrounding dilapidated scene.

Seeing the teenage girl with twitching eyes under the teacher’s protection, it gave an evil smile and joyfully drooled while charging towards her.

I’m back from my adventures outside!

The impact from the dog’s head caused Fu Yi to groan, wanting to hit someone.

Feeling the teacher’s dangerous gaze, she became uneasy and subconsciously wanted to pass the blame: ”Um... I shouldn’t have to pay for the repair costs, right? Teacher, you must have heard, this is a force majeure...”

”... It will be deducted from your internship salary,” the teacher coldly adjusted his glasses, ”starting next month.”

”What!!!”

.

”Then, let Luo Xian also get what she desires!”

Accompanied by Tong Ji’s shout, the White Horse of the Sword of Virtue emerged from the light rain and galloped towards the Current Circumstances.

In the deepest part of the dark temple in India.

In the blood sea transformed by Hell, the lone traveler stopped his steps, took his eyes off the camera in his hand, and looked back in shock.

That majestic white horse, emerging from the void and radiating light.

”Hmm? You came to play with me?”

Luo Xian smiled and scratched its chin, ”Let’s go together then; coincidentally, the journey ahead is still long.”

She placed her luggage on the saddle, held the reins, and ventured deeper into the darkness.

Cheerfully humming a tune.

.

Above Helios, Tong Ji, having recited a long list at one breath, gasped and wiped the fine sweat from her forehead, helplessly lamenting, ”Having a Contractor who likes to flirt is indeed tiring... Shouldn’t have missed anything, right? I hope not?”

Well, now that everyone is done, the rest...

”Sister has pressure, so sister won’t be polite.”

Tong Ji placed her hands on her hips and triumphantly shouted, ”The rest all belong to me!”

Instantly, the light rain trembled violently, with a significant portion returning towards Helios, transforming into a vast flock of crows, finally surging and landing on the grand temple and Tong Ji’s shoulder.

A python emerged from the shadows, tamely winding around her arm and transforming into an ornate bracelet.

Yet there are still a large amount of soul fragments flying away with the light rain.

”What about the rest?” Zeus asked.

”I’ve already taken care of most for him, shouldn’t let him put in too much effort for the rest?” Tong Ji casually waved her hand, ”Don’t worry, he’s deeply bonded with Current Circumstances— mere aggregation won’t be difficult for him.”

And so, the bright rain flew over the indifferent cosmos, crossing vast distances, falling onto every part of Current Circumstances with the surging divine power.

The compassion and mercy from the King of Light scattered into every corner, revisiting the Origin Spring.

Meanwhile, in ancient halls in America, the elderly woman holding a needle and thread raised her hand, gazing at the light spot in her palm, seemingly sighing and rejoicing.

”Welcome back, Balder.”

Mamakiria lifted her hand, sent that glimmer into the breeze, watching it drift away and dissipate, softly blessing: ”May you sleep peacefully in this era of mankind.”

In the distance, only the wind responded.

.

.

In the long dream, Huai Shi felt himself falling.

In the endless darkness, loneliness that drives one insane.

But it seems there’s someone beside him, journeying with him, giving his heart vague solace, not as afraid anymore.

”You see, so-called encounters and farewells are just that simple, often seen.”

That calm voice told him, ”Thus, during encounters, one must laugh heartily, so when saying goodbye, there’ll be no regrets. After seriously bidding farewell, when journeying alone again, there wouldn’t be excessive reluctance.”

Upon arriving at a certain place, he stopped and told Huai Shi: ”I’ll send you up to here; you should head home.”

”But what about you?” Huai Shi asked, ”Where are you going?”

”I’m returning home, to those who love me,” the voice seriously stated, ”You must do the same, Huai Shi, there are people who love you and are waiting.”

”Will we meet again?”

”Of course.” That departing person paused, seemingly turned and smiled, ”I am nowhere and everywhere, Huai Shi, I’ll always watch over your advancing silhouette, and I’ll always be by your side.”

”Then, goodbye?”

”Goodbye.”

That carefree figure headed towards the darker place and disappeared.

In the boundless darkness, Huai Shi was uncertain on how to proceed.

Lost in the maze where contours aren’t visible and the end can’t be reached.

But soon, specks of light appeared, familiar voices from afar guiding him through the darkness.

At that moment, he seemed to arrive at a hospital he’s never visited before.

He heard a question from behind the window.

”Name?”
