Chapter 1185: Chapter 704: Story of Your Life (Part 4)

She reminded him, ”That promise, the one that’s yours alone.”

Balder froze in place.

”You still remember her, right? That person waiting for you.

For so many years, she has always kept the promise, holding onto the last obsession, alone in Hell, sleeping in the place without light, waiting for your arrival, day after day, year after year.”

”Now, the time to fulfill the promise has come, Balder.

This time, will you keep your promise?”

”...Of course.”

Balder nodded, responding calmly, ”How could I leave her all alone?”

”Very good, Balder.”

Tong Ji said approvingly, ”You really are the kindest God—”

In that instant, the Parasitic Galla pierced his chest.

There was no pain, no fear.

The God collapsed silently.

As the moment arrived, Balder lifted his head, staring at the person in front of him, waiting.

Waiting for her to speak that word.

The word that truly brings everything to an end.

And so, just like many years ago, like the ending of every tale about Balder.

Tong Ji raised her head, as if declaring to Fate.

Once again spoke the words:

”—Let Hela’s wishes come true!”

In that moment, an invisible bridge was reconnected.

In front of Balder, a black door appeared silently and opened wide.

In the deepest of darkness, a distant figure emerged, gradually becoming clear.

Separated by this door of existence and void, she stared blankly at the figure coming to fulfill the promise, as if she couldn’t believe it, not daring to reach out to touch his face.

”Sorry, for making you wait so long.”

Balder smiled, reached out, and held her hand tightly, ”I’m here to fulfill the promise, Hela.”

Then, he spread his arms, embracing the lonely phantom.

This time, I will definitely not leave you all alone...

Without any hesitation, light hand in hand with death, followed her into the distant darkness, only to glance one last time at everything left behind.

Smiling farewell.

Offering gratitude for this brief encounter.

Farewell, my friend.

Please, mourn for me...

.

.

”Eh? Are they really leaving just like that?”

Tong Ji stood in place, gazing at the spot where they disappeared, unable to help but sigh, shaking her head, ”They really left such a big mess for me to clean up... And you, Zeus, shouldn’t you leave as well? The show is over, you know.”

”I’m not like Odin’s son. As long as I can drag things out a bit more, I’ll shamelessly linger.”

Zeus’s fragmented phantom appeared, looking around at all this, ”Besides, isn’t it not over yet? The most important ending hasn’t begun.”

In the place where the God vanished, a more radiant light rose and spread—making the ring of the sun around Helios even more dazzling.

That’s the Springs of Rejuvenation about to erupt!

Even though Balder’s Divine Soul has perished, this is not in the Current Circumstances, and this power cannot pass through the world’s axis and successfully return.

If it continues like this, and Helios absorbs it or someone else uses it, wouldn’t that be more troublesome?

Zeus wanted to see how she would handle the final wrap-up.

”It’s very simple, Zeus,”

Tong Ji calmly gazed at the Parasitic Galla in her hand, saying, ”Just perform the same ritual again to consume that residual power.”

Zeus frowned in confusion.

Hard to understand.

Indeed, this is one method, but the problem is: Balder is already dead, how can you kill him again?

”...Hmm? Isn’t there a ready solution here?”

Tong Ji turned and looked inside the Temple.

There indeed was a ready substitute.

One that once embodied Balder’s God’s avatar, almost can be regarded as an earthly incarnation of the Light King... As a replacement for Balder, there is none better.

But the problem is...

”You even thought of this?”

Zeus was stunned, his eyes wide open, ”Are you even human?”

Didn’t you say the Contractor is important and should be cherished!

Even someone as shameless as him didn’t think... there’s such a despicable move in this world!

It would shake Olympus for a whole year!

”Don’t worry, for ordinary people it wouldn’t work, but for him, it’ll definitely be alright. Before he was Balder’s God’s avatar, he was my Contractor.”

Tong Ji turned back, smiling, ”Have confidence in the ones I’ve chosen... Besides, I especially don’t want to see my Contractor unhappy.”

Even if I can’t undo everything, at least give him something worth remembering.
