Chapter 1183: Chapter 704: Story of Your Life_2

Snap.

Another crisp sound.

He lowered his head and saw the fissure in front of his chest.

Inside him, that incomplete sun disk rotated slowly, emitting increasingly brilliant light. As if it was... growing?

Compared to what Huai Shi saw, the ’half’ had already recovered to two-thirds, and the recovery speed seemed to be accelerating!

Although it should be a good thing, Huai Shi saw strands of unease and resistance on Balder’s face.

Suddenly, he experienced a subtle feeling of weightlessness swaying.

As if... he was on a train starting to accelerate.

”What’s going on?” Huai Shi frowned.

”It looks like relying on Ah Dong alone can’t lock that part of ’me’, huh.”

Balder shook his head helplessly.

Beside Huai Shi, the slumbering Broken Dog slowly turned over, strands of light continually exuding from its fur, drifting towards Balder.

That was the power that belonged to the Light King.

Power that should have long returned to Him.

”This is, as you see... it seems we are about to drop into the current circumstances.”

Balder smiled awkwardly: ”Sorry, I’m having a bit of trouble controlling it.”

Unable to resist, this force of attraction from the current circumstances!

As Balder gradually recovered, the gravity of the Central Pillar of God Marrow also began to gradually strengthen, pulling at his existence, drawing him to return.

This is the restraint from the Sky’s Command, the same for both Balder and Publius.

Even though Publius has died, his Ritual of God Making was already successful.

The deceased God welcomes resurrection.

If not controlled promptly, under the pull of gravity, Helios will once again resume operation from a stagnant state, beginning endless acceleration, causing tremendous impact on the current circumstances and the Three Seals with His mass and God’s Seat.

That is why Balder let Huai Shi with Divine Soul empower Fenrir to devour the Sun, rather than killing it and letting it return to himself.

Unfortunately, the Miracle Imprint of Fenrir can’t delay for too long either.

”Never thought someday I would die from falling... fitting for a God so high and mighty.”

Balder sighed self-mockingly: ”I originally planned to sneak away and go home to have a look. But unfortunately, home is too far away.”

He said, ”There’s no time.”

”Wait, Balder!”

Huai Shi instinctively reached out and grabbed his shoulder, fearing he’d just disappear like that: ”Wait a moment, there might be a solution...”

”No, I just suddenly figured it out.”

Balder smiled calmly and told the friend in front of him: ”My home is no longer in that place, Huai Shi, my home is no more.”

In this world, he had no home anymore.

Since hundreds of years ago...

Huai Shi fell silent, with nothing to say.

Unable to find any words to comfort him.

”Haha, don’t be so dejected.”

Balder patted his shoulder, ”Anyway, even if I don’t go back home, it’s okay... In fact, earlier on, I watched a little film in Helios’s screening room.”

He recalled the afterimages in those memories, speaking as if lost in thought: ”It was about an old man living alone at sea, in a very tall and many-storied house, living peacefully and calmly.

But the sea levels rise every year, so he must keep building his house up higher... Over time, all the houses stacked together, like building blocks.

When the water rises, his former residence is submerged, along with the past furniture, memories, and photos.

Until one day, when he looks back, underwater is a vast city submerged and forgotten... he understands, everything from the past will be lost in the sea.”

”So, I think it’s nice to be living on a ship this time.”

Balder shrugged with relief, ”At least there’s no need to think about the old house in the sea anymore, right?”

”...” Huai Shi said nothing.

But in the silence, the feeling of weightless swaying strengthened again.

Helios began to accelerate.

”Looks like I have to go, Huai Shi.”

Balder extended his hand, from his pocket, he took out a softly squeaking little white mouse and placed it in Huai Shi’s arms, ”Do me one last favor, and take good care of it.

Fish Ball likes you very much, you guys will definitely get along.”

Huai Shi opened his mouth to speak, but the drowsy feeling grew stronger, the power from the Divine Wine permeated his soul, repairing his injuries, yet plunging his consciousness into a daze once more.

The wine glass slipped from his hand.

He forced his eyes open, trying to see the figure in front of him clearly: ”Wait, I...”

”We all have to say goodbye, Huai Shi.” Balder looked back at him and waved, ”Just consider I’m going on a long trip, no need to see me off, wherever isn’t where you should go.”

His steps paused but never turned back, only whispering his farewell.

”You must return to the human world, Huai Shi.” He said, ”Go to your loved ones. Do not let them die. Let them all live.”

And then, darkness came.

.

.

Just like that, Balder carefully severed the connection with Huai Shi, maintaining the integrity of his soul, and walked out the door.

Lastly, he gazed at the flickering stars.

When he opened the small box in his pocket and held up the parasitic galla within, his expression fell into struggle and hesitation.
