Chapter 1156: Chapter 883: Fighting for Peace?

At this moment, outside the high walls of the Town of Dusk, the brutal skirmish had already begun.

The guards atop the city walls skillfully operated various kinds of machine guns, squandering the bullets freshly produced from the production lines, forming fire points, and unleashing a devastating barrage.

Ever since the arrival of the metallurgy master from the Russian Federation, the equipment of the Paradise Guard had once again been upgraded in less than half a day.

With the terrifying production capabilities of the Town of Dusk, as long as there is technology, there is continuous output.

Titan III Exoskeleton Power Armor, Eagle Hawk Anti-Armor Shotguns representative of the Russian Federation Suppression Forces’ weaponry, capable of piercing the defenses of High Stage Sublimators, Beloberg GACB473 city defense cannons... even Svalog II ground-to-ground missiles were continuously produced like eggs from hens on the production lines.

As the massive steel moths ascended into the sky, dark clouds quickly shrouded the Town of Dusk. Under the dim light, countless bolts of lightning emerged from them, continually turning winged creatures into charred remains, falling like rain.

These were once the hopeful weather tools of the New Era, a source of pride for the Variators, now transformed into unmitigated instruments of war after complete hellish conversion.

During the battle of multiverses, with the lavish investment of the Workshop Owner, tens of thousands of iron moths once soared over the Sea of Titans, sealing off the Sky Dome.

Soon, with the bloody return of the Charlemagne Paladin, another deformed Angel was dragged into the molten iron furnace, shrieking miserably, burning, and after being cruelly disassembled into the finest structures by the steel, flowing onto the production line, countless arms began meticulous reprocessing.

Ultimately, on the slowly rising platform, the reborn steel spider lifted its slender limbs and joined the hunt!

The cumbersome and massive steel spider climbed over the walls, soon falling into the endless black tide outside the walls, struggling fiercely, causing severe casualties before being heavily damaged, disintegrated by the incessant Hell Swarm, and scrapped amidst sparks and thick smoke, torn apart and dismantled.

But with the rupture of its abdomen, countless steel beads the size of an ordinary person rolled out, reflecting countless confused deformed faces on the smooth iron spheres.

The smooth exteriors swiftly disintegrated, and the ’produced’ small spiders began to leap out nimbly, waving their sharp blade legs, starting to spread frantically.

Hundreds of spiders were scattered across the vast battlefield, like a drop of water merging into the sea, disappearing quickly.

But it didn’t take long for one drop of water to become two drops, four drops, eight drops...

These engineering devices, used to handle building debris and remnants, after layer upon layer of rewriting, had transformed into merciless replicating machines, nightmare-like Von Neumann machines, hunting, feeding, quickly extracting all steel alloys, growing, and then starting a new cycle of reproduction.

As if never-ending...

On the war carriage of gold and white bones, Gala leaned on the sickle blade, quietly gazing at the distant scene, no longer irritable and impatient, but full of patience and interest.

His sight was not on the spiders and moths but focused on the city walls.

”In the Current Circumstances, this kind of weapon is really convenient, a mortal can pull the trigger and kill a demigod... the noble bloodline that inherits Sacred Blood and a destitute beggar are indistinguishable before a weapon.”

He pinched his chin, praised: ”Though a bit hypocritical, the Astronomical Society’s era is truly remarkable.”

”An era without gods huh?”

Another passenger on the carriage sighed: ”Sounds quite nice, surely it must be peaceful?”

”Heh, maybe?”

Gala turned back, giving a glance to the yearning Greek hero, Hercules, and said indifferently: ”They don’t worship gods, not because they are more civilized and enlightened, but because in their era, gods had no power— they worship other things, other, more powerful things.”

Hercules looked over, bewildered.

”The vast majority of people worship money, even more people worship power.”

”Merchants and ambitious people have existed since ancient times, that’s not surprising.”

”I haven’t finished; some people worship numbers, lots of numbers, they like to record every number related to people’s daily lives then sum it all up, calling it ’big numbers’. It’s like being possessed, even buying something requires looking at the big numbers, and they can’t live without them.”

”How strange... are they mathematicians?”

”Most of them are not, and there are even more peculiar ones, some worship free stuff.”

”Would it really be free?”

”The more expensive ones require payment, but they enjoy it, immersed in the sense of accomplishment from getting something for nothing, they are so engrossed, unaware they have been made into commodities by those who worship numbers, even if they know, they don’t care.”

Gala let out a mocking sharp laugh: ”And many people still worship invisible receipts, guarding a place called a computer altar every day, always thinking they can buy low and sell high, rejoicing or sorrowing over scallops and invisible currency that bare no correspondence to real currency.”

”Does this... earn money?”

”Possibly, amidst utter despair, there’s always a hint of joy, isn’t there?”

”Where in the world could there be such a bizarre world!” Hercules frowned, shaking his head: ”That’s like a fairy tale! Even lies should be believable.”

”Hahaha, I haven’t even mentioned those who worship loans, worship paper, and worship leather garments!”

Gala laughed heartily, full of joy: ”Which is why I love the Current Circumstances, it’s always bizarre, more brutal than Hell, and more novel than Hell, birthing countless deceitful schemes every day, constantly bringing me endless surprises!”

He once again drew his sickle blade and raised it towards the front.

”It’s about time, let the big guys go up and give our friends a little surprise!”

Beneath the war carriage, the herald blew the horn once again.

In the high-pitched and prolonged resonation, amidst the mist, a colossal creature suddenly flapped its wings and soared into the sky. The shadow of its massive bat wings dissipated the dark clouds.

Strange light blossomed.

Under its illumination, the murderous intent of the entire battlefield seemed to be diminished, reversed; anger, pain, and despair all transformed into indescribable sweetness and excitement.

All the Hell Swarm instantly became fervent, but in contrast, on the defense line of the Town of Dusk, all garrison members felt a sudden emptiness.

Meaningless.

War only creates more war, anger leads to more dire consequences, slaughter is meaningless; only by ceasing conflict and embracing each other can love and goodwill warm the world.

Such unreasonable thoughts instantly emerged within the area covered by the light, and then rapidly expanded within the Soul, making hostility impossible to summon.

Instead, they rushed toward the opponent’s sword, arms wide open.

Stop the war, embrace peace!

Even if it’s a one-sided peace...

If someone strikes your left cheek, isn’t there still your right cheek? Let them strike it to vent anger, as long as the other side feels our sincerity and bonds, love will surely fill the world.

Chaos spread quickly.

And that colossal creature had already pounced on the Iron Moth, commencing a fierce battle with the ruthless steel. Amid the clash, even the unfeeling forged giant was infected by love, gradually ceasing its resistance.

Hell Sequence · Eleventh!

That existence is second only to the Ruler, the Crowned, sufficient to hold the position of ’Duke’ in the Solomon Sequence—a Great Mob Owner named Gu Xin!

This mere presence brings forth a terrifying spiritual contagion, an irresistible plague!

A Soul poison named peace, love, understanding!

On the throne of the Sun Caster, Huai Shi raised his gaze, his eyebrows gradually furrowing.

Roland turned his head to issue orders, naturally there were Paladins who drew the longbow from their backs, aiming at the shadow in the sky from afar, but when the bowstring was pulled taut, the intent surged to its peak, seemingly catching Gu Xin’s attention. Under the bat wings, emerald eyes casually glanced over, instantly reversing that excessive murderous intent, making them unable to release the bowstring.

Even if they gritted their teeth to shoot, once the arrows ascended to the sky, they quickly fell downwards crooked.

Willpower at this moment seemed to possess tangible power.

If hostility is too pure, it will trigger Gu Xin’s intervention, but arrows lacking pure murderous intent cannot break through the aura of goodwill surrounding it.

Among the Twelve Paladins, someone frowned, seized the longbow, ready to draw, but saw Huai Shi raise his palm.

”No need.”

Huai Shi rested his chin on his hand, calmly said: ”If it likes to spread peace, let it spread. Let’s see if its ’kindness’ and ’peace’ can change everything...”

Just right, a bit of Divine Nature accounted for, finally allowing him to spare some focus.

At that moment, from behind Huai Shi, the dark fissure of the Ruins slowly emerged. The outline of the Great Priestess was traced from it, casting an indifferent gaze toward the sky.

Coldly observing.

Followed by, ’Grudge’ germinated.

Countless enormous grievances and hatred emerged from the Iron Moth’s shell, as if Hell suddenly opened its gates, eternal despair and sorrow overflowed, turned into a viscous dark flow, covering the Iron Moth’s wings.

Anger, sorrow, pain, grudge...

As Huai Shi raised his gaze, the dark roots sprouting from countless Souls erupted forth in an instant, transforming into a torrent, rushing to the sky, enveloping all.

The excessively rich grievance and pain had already turned into a sea, causing Gu Xin’s colossal body to stagnate momentarily, violently convulsing.

Just like... being submerged by the tide.

The aura rapidly shrank, trembled, bursting with the sound of shattering glass. Like a fortress built from sand before a tidal wave, it collapsed instantly!

False kindness and love like lies are utterly insignificant under this hatred sufficient to materialize eternally in the world!

Dark clouds surged, like waves.

In the ocean of grudge, Iron Moth and Gu Xin fiercely battled, a torrential blood rain poured down, infused with anger and murder, re-irrigating the entire battlefield.

When Huai Shi raised his fingers, the fire from the Eternal Frozen Heart was dyed pitch black by the darkness flowing from the Ruins.

The light spread everywhere, returning the Heavenly Kingdom to Hell.

War began anew!

Amidst anger, pain, and grudge, the miracle of the Great Priestess ran across this battlefield!
