Chapter 1149: Chapter 878: The Gods Themselves (Part 2)_3

It was so beautiful, like a Golden Age akin to the Heavenly Kingdom.

The whole world was developing rapidly, the entire Current Circumstances growing swiftly, just like the non-existent Eden, where rivers flowed with milk and honey, trees bore figs, and water tasted as sweet as wine.

No one cared about the hidden dangers, even if someone noticed them.

Even when the actual executor, the chosen CEO, the vice CEO of the Heavenly Kingdom, gave warnings to the council of shareholders, the gods intoxicated by profit paid no heed.

Even though this intoxicating beauty was rooted in Hell, and this flower-clad era was depleting the life of the Current Circumstances.

The law of Miracle Conservation was cast aside.

No one cared how such a massive Miracle would create a hellish spectacle in the Abyss, or how the omniscient and omnipotent shell would form a vast Reflection, planting the seeds of disaster.

It was just like before the subprime mortgage crisis, when no investor would heed those baseless rumors.

Risks are controllable.

Everyone said so.

But no one cared about the unknown risks.

Until one day, an unforeseen disaster struck.

After a long gestation, the evil fruit finally sprouted from Hell — in a single night, an unprecedented turmoil rapidly spread, engulfing every participant, with even the innocent bystanders not spared.

Only a scant few of the lucky ones were spared from disaster due to deep sleep, feigned death, protection, or last-minute substitution and salvation.

The end as recorded in the Apocalypse arrived.

The finale known as ’Apocalypse’.

Frozen, fallen, dusk, the five declines of heaven and man, whatever they are called, are indistinguishable from ’death’.

Under the terrifying gravitational force from the Abyss, decay and collapse rapidly spread.

Returning the Sky’s Command to the Current Circumstances, leaving authority in the mortal world, throwing the Miracle into the earthly realm, losing everything, the deceased gods fell from the Heavenly Kingdom, passed through the Current Circumstances, and plunged into the Abyss.

Forming the magnificent extremity known as the Springs of Rejuvenation.

In the deepest part of Hell, those remaining traces of Divine Nature faced their final distortion and solidification, conforming to the Abyss’s gravity, converging into one.

Thus, corresponding to the Reflection of an omniscient and omnipotent being, the only True God remaining in this world, the supreme ruler, finally emerged from the deepest hell.

With the collapse of this Current Circumstances as its inaugural wail, an Element of Destructive known as the ’Ranch Owner’ opened its eyes.

Staring at the world that belonged to it.

For the first time in its existence, it felt the so-called ’hunger’!

To this day, that thing most qualified to call itself a god still continues in its unsightly ugly form, perpetually devouring.

The disasters and toxic emissions it caused are the evidence of this sin.

”Don’t you ever regret it?”

Tong Ji scrutinized those sombre faces, curiously inquiring, ”Have you never felt shame because of this?”

In the silence, Zeus suddenly laughed softly, so mockingly.

The aged king of the gods raised his head, downed the Wine of Curse in his cup in one gulp, and asked indifferently, ”Is there really any difference between you and us?

Or do I need to remind you, ’Taiyi’?

Even if you knew in advance that your success would be fleeting, that everything you did would lead to betrayal and isolation, would you stop your actions?

If ’Union’ was our sin, then wasn’t it you who sparked the war before the union!”

”Who says it wasn’t?”

Tong Ji calmly responded, lowering her head, looking at the pink porcelain cup in her hand, and laughed self-deprecatingly, ”Perhaps this is the price I have to pay.”

In the silence, no one spoke again.

Facing ignorance, even the gods remained silent.
