Chapter 1148: Chapter 878: The Gods Themselves (Part 2)

”Ah, it’s all in the past. When we were young, none of us understood things, making mistakes was normal. Back then they were still young, just a child.

You see, I’ve let it go. Why can’t you?”

So brazenly provoking the once great gods, with no fear of them lashing out in fury.

Tong Ji tilted her head, spitting out a grape seed, and casually said:

”Speaking of which, you actually ought to thank me...”

The corners of her mouth curled up, no longer hiding her mockery: ”I am, after all, your ’savior’ who kept him from ending up like you.”

The frigid winter wind, the icy moonlight sharp as arrows, the War God’s roar and the Judge’s hostility...

In that instant, under such humiliation, projections of the Olympus Gods emerged in blazing crimson.

A flash of furious thunder appeared in Zeus’ eyes.

”Do you wish to go to war?”

The former king of gods asked coldly: ”You have come to Helios without our permission. Now, we have hosted you, invited you to the banquet, yet all you’ve brought is taunting and humiliation.

We who remain are not so decayed as to meekly tolerate this. If you wish to declare war, then just say so.”

”No, isn’t this your own disgrace?”

Tong Ji coldly held her cup, ”You’ve destroyed everything you’ve built with your own hands, reduced to this by your greed.

Am I not allowed to complain about cleaning up after you?

How do you think you still have your temple and why are you still here? Zeus, if Helios wasn’t still somewhat useful, do you think I would waste my time speaking to you?”

Tong Ji raised her eyes, calmly telling all the gods present: ”Your fate is self-inflicted. When you sought to escape the Sky’s Command and wanted to abandon this world, you sealed your own end.”

”The White Crown King had already seen the risks, he warned you, but no one listened. He had to flee far away, sever ties, yet you still dragged him down, his honor lost at last.”

She said, ”This is what’s called ’reaping what you sow’!”

Not just for the Olympus Gods here, but from Rome to Egypt, from America to Dongxia, in her view, the fate of the fallen gods was, without exception, self-inflicted.

This is the consequence of relying on Hell.

—Looking for a future in the Abyss, has something gone wrong?

This was what Tong Ji never told Huai Shi—about the so-called ’social history’ of God Spirits and the cause of the fall of gods centuries ago.

The divine essence born from the Central Pillar of God Marrow turned its back on the Sky’s Command, while the gods who ascended from the Current Circumstances betrayed their own duties.

Unwilling to accept a mere thousand years of lifespan, unwilling to be shackled by the Sky’s Command.

This endless greed inherent in human nature became the driving force for countless explorations...

Through bloodlines, through favor, through blessings, through command and punishment, they sought to break free of their chains.

Therefore, the existence of many demigods came to be. It allowed the power of miracles to be passed down to mortals’ hands. It also led to the formation of genealogies, where they counterbalanced, fought, and replaced each other.

Rome, Dongxia, Egypt, India, America...

War spread, sweeping over every inch of the Current Circumstances. The floods and disasters it triggered brought the world to the brink of destruction several times, despite the futile attempts by rational individuals to salvage the situation.

All the efforts made were but a drop in the ocean.

Until half the gods had fallen, and the surviving ones were compelled to seek a second path outside of conflict.

Since war could not achieve their goals.

The only remaining path was ’union.’

The first to embrace change was the Temple of Ten Thousand Gods. The three thunder fathers of Rome, Greece, and the Nordic regions were the first to form an alliance. Since the existence of pantheons was to share the Sky’s Command, why not unite further?

Equally, to gain more Correction Value, why not be more straightforward and concentrate the Sky’s Command into a single entity?

Whether it was Thunder, the Sun, or the Moon, wine, art, punishment, guard, war, compassion, procreation, curse, hunting, planting...

All came together as one.

Like mortals pooling their funds and forming a consortium, several ’corporations’ united in one place, creating a genuine monopoly group!

Long before the term ’Syndicate’ was coined in economics, its entity had already emerged from the hands of the gods. All authority gathered as means of production, with godly favor and might treated as assets, endowing the non-existent ’Legal Man,’ thus creating a never-before-seen ’Idol.’

A so-called omnipotent ’public account,’ and its owners, the ’Angels.’

The Stigma Genealogy was thus born!

This was an unprecedented gamble, yet it resulted in unprecedented success!

More and more gods joined in, abandoning warfare and choosing a win-win approach. Some even imitated the model and started anew...

After the first person dared to venture forward, new ideas began emerging in an endless stream.

The hidden gods behind the scenes, like shareholders on a board of directors, received an endless flow of Correction Value dividends and gained critically important freedom.
