Chapter 1147: Chapter 878: The Gods Themselves (Part 2)

The atmosphere suddenly turned so bizarre.

That kind of gaze, as if watching a notorious serial killer go home and tenderly cook dinner for a little cat.

Even holding the little cat and meowing together with it.

Even if they are residues of the past, the remaining reflections of the Gods, even now, those blurred contours still uncontrollably reveal astonishment and bewilderment.

It’s like seeing a ghost.

But Tong Ji was indifferent to those gazes, she casually opened a can of soft drink, drank it through a straw after pouring it.

After sipping a couple of times, she began to speak.

”So, back to the main topic—”

She said, ”You’ve all been dead for so many years, do you still want to trip me up?”

At this point, she smiled gently: ”Although as a beautiful and kind big sister, I love peace, I really don’t want to mess with the ashes of old acquaintances.

But if you insist on giving me a hard time, I have no choice but to scatter you.”

The joyous atmosphere vanished without a trace, replaced by a tense hostility.

The Gods’ murderous intent intertwined, making the sweet wine taste bitter.

The soft drink lost its bubbles, turning into cloying syrup.

Until a deep voice arose at the head of the banquet.

”You, now? Forget about it.”

Zeus poured out the wine, ”Conflict between phantoms, what else but destruction can it lead to? We do not intend to stop you.”

”But you did stop me, didn’t you? The rules of the [God Confrontation] were altered by you.”

Tong Ji reminded emotionlessly, ”You’ve chosen to stand against me... just like before.

Even after so many years, the fact you dead things can have such grand dreams here is thanks to me, and yet you choose to repay kindness with malice, causing trouble? Are you even human?”

”It’s not the first time Olympus repaid kindness with malice, is it such a rare thing? Besides, we are Gods, isn’t it harsh to impose human qualities on us?

If my memory serves me right—our past relationship was never friendly, no, it should be said as hostile as the sea.”

Zeus didn’t hide his actions, simply told her calmly, ”Since this is before the Gods, the God Confrontation must ensure fairness.

We’re just fulfilling our responsibilities, rather it’s you siding with your patron, isn’t it?”

Tong Ji suddenly became serious, raising a finger.

”To correct, it’s ’Contractor’, not ’patron’.”

”Is there a difference?” Zeus questioned.

”Of course there is, don’t think everyone is like you?

You Olympians swapping partners like swapping paper figures, seeing a pretty cow wanting to mess around with it, seeing a good-looking boy wanting to favor him a bit... We in Dongxia are very serious and proper.”

At this, she curled her lips into a cold smile: ”Besides, don’t think I didn’t see through you, you Olympians are just trash jesters, after all, you just want to see ’Trojan’ again, right?! Already dead, yet still love causing trouble?”

Zeus shrugged indifferently, without guilt from being called out, instead confidently countered, ”Don’t you want to?”

He paused, his smile becoming more peculiar: ”Or are you, as a goddess, not concerned about who gets the golden apple?”

”Would you be interested in an outcome that’s long since predetermined?”

Tong Ji raised her finger, twirling a strand of silk-like black hair over her shoulder, calmly questioned: ”That kind of golden apple, isn’t it right and proper to belong to a good woman like me?”

After finishing, she paused, glancing around: ”There wouldn’t be any promiscuous little scoundrel trying to snatch it from me, right? No way, right? No way, right?

Sister Crow is under such stress, could Sister Crow take it first?”

”...”

Once said, among those blurry outlines, half of the figures turned hostile and hateful gazes, uncontrollable.

Those distant voices filled with rage, yet hard to descend here through the long passage of time.

The dreamland too thin to bear any more.

Moreover, the divine nature they have left is scarce, unable to even manifest their original visage, only past instincts remain, no different than clay statues in the Temple.

Only Zeus, the king of gods as the symbol of Olympus, can temporarily escape the state of obliteration, clearly appear here.

Imagine, seeing his former adversary lively and dancing at his family gravesite, how complicated his feelings must be.

And Tong Ji, as the rude guest, after drinking the host’s wine with a small cup, started to eat the fruit on the table.

Still happily smacking her lips.

Still marveling, this is the taste, authentic!

”Ah, right, a family must stay neat and tidy.”

She tossed grapes into her mouth, her gaze looking at the only empty seat at the banquet, ”Why so many are here, yet Apollo, the main one, isn’t?”

”Hasn’t he already died?”

Zeus sipped his wine, calmly said, ”Killed by your own hands.”
