Chapter 1072: Chapter 830: The Little Dog of Friendship

Don’t panic.

At this moment, Huai Shi lay on the surface of the Moon, gazing up at Earth, talking to himself.

His mind buzzing, vision dim and dark, possibly due to internal bleeding.

But it doesn’t matter.

Let’s summarize first...

You, Huai Shi, male, eighteen and a half years old, a happy youth idly fishing and practicing in Tanbo, suddenly received an invitation to the Helios Workshop.

And so, you went to Rome, met friends, took your dog to space, and arrived at the Space Station.

By chance, you encountered a prison break that hadn’t happened in decades, requiring an emergency landing.

Then, you encountered a meteor shower that only strikes once in millennia, nearly crashing into the ground with the escape pod, becoming a wreckage of metal wrapped in meat sauce.

Undoubtedly, this is no coincidence.

”Someone wants to kill you.”

Tong Ji went straight to the conclusion for him: ”I think, compared to pure coincidence, this is actually more convincing.”

”Is there no other possibility?” Huai Shi asked back.

”Think positively, maybe you’re just particularly unlucky, right?” Tong Ji laughed: ”But whenever you’ve been unlucky, haven’t you accidentally stepped into someone else’s trap?”

Huai Shi raised his hand and forcefully slapped his own round helmet.

Full of grief and indignation.

I was in the Current Circumstances, someone wanted to mess with me, went to Hell, someone messed with me, now I’ve even gone to the sky, how is there still someone messing with me?

”For what?”

Huai Shi wanted to hold his chin and think, but with the helmet in the way, he couldn’t touch it.

This time, without needing Tong Ji, he smoothly came to the conclusion himself.

Undoubtedly, someone doesn’t want me to reach the Helios Workshop... someone hopes for an accident on the way.

If all else fails, it doesn’t matter if I die.

If Huai Shi patiently stayed at the Mitra Space Station, waiting for the Moon Administration Committee’s landing permit, he might not have encountered these troubles.

But as soon as he left the Space Station, he immediately faced a deadly crisis.

But why did he not encounter any problems when launching from Pompeii? If they wanted to kill him, it would have been more convenient then, a small malfunction during launch would have left Huai Shi dead and gone in a fuel explosion.

Perhaps because at that time he was still at the Current Circumstances Core, inconvenient for tampering?

Or is it that the distance was too far, beyond their reach?

If that’s the case, then the person trying to kill me is likely on the Moon right now.

I’m not out of danger yet.

And... where’s my dog?

Huai Shi finally remembered, suddenly stood up, and looked around at the desolate ground.

Nothing must happen, otherwise the little dog of friendship will be buried on the Moon!

Then, he saw a dog crawl up from not far away, leisurely walking towards the wreckage of the escape pod.

Independently poking its head into the broken framework, rummaging around.

Huai Shi didn’t even have time to call it back.

In the distance, the wreckage of the escape pod suddenly sparked, igniting the rapidly leaking oxygen, and the blazing fire immediately rose.

The waves of air dissipating in the vacuum blew in all directions.

Chilling Huai Shi’s heart.

It’s over.

The little dog of friendship is dead...

Before he could put his palms together, hoping the dog was okay, he saw the fire dance and quickly spread to the sides, as if a king returning triumphantly.

A Husky walked out from within, with hair unruffled and full of vigor.

Even threw off its broken helmet.

In the vacuum, it grinned, gasping for air, and cast a disdainful glance at Huai Shi, who was dumbfounded in front of it.

Active and lively, it felt none of the pain or spasms that ordinary creatures experience in a vacuum, even sneezed, flicked its saliva, as if nothing had happened.

At most, it’s just not used to not being able to smell anything.

What kind of super creature is this!

Huai Shi circled the broken dog three times, looking left and right, raising his hand to scratch his head.

He finally realized that he truly wasn’t a match for a dog...

Then the dog, having shown off enough, finally lowered its head, opened its mouth, and dropped something it had retrieved from the escape pod wreckage at Huai Shi’s feet, then looked up and pitted him with a gaze of ridicule.

A mockingly ’what would you do without me’ expression.

Huai Shi’s expression twitched, bending down to pick up the item.

He found it was what he had thrown out during the recent turmoil — the beacon iron orb given by the Helios Workshop.

Now, that object has begun to operate on its own.

Heating up.

The complex, intricately interlocking structure unfolded by itself, and from within, a beam of light and shadow emerged, sketching out a vague projection of an old man.

Gradually clarifying, revealing a firm and solemn face.

Raising his eyes, looking at him.

”Garandor?”

Huai Shi instinctively straightened his body.

Immediately, a strange voice sounded directly from his soul.

”Are you still alive?”

The old man nodded, appearing to exhale a sigh of relief.

And Huai Shi recalled the silver giant hand formed by moon dust that had just appeared, suddenly coming to a realization: ”Was it you who intervened just now?”

As a Grandmaster in Alchemy proficient in the arts of transformation, Source Studies, and fusion, to lend a hand across such a vast distance from far on the Moon’s surface.

This level of achievement has reached an astounding degree, truly amazing.

Indeed worthy of a Great Grandmaster.

”No need to thank me, it was the station master of Mitra Space Station who contacted me, only then did I know what happened,” Garandor told him. ”Ultimately, I couldn’t be of much help, but I’m glad you’re safe.”

After a brief exchange, Huai Shi finally managed to connect to the Kepler Base channel.

Unfortunately, due to the unexpected impact, although they successfully landed on the ground, they deviated more than two hundred kilometers from the intended location.

Landed in a no-man’s land!

He’s going to be late.

”Don’t worry,” Garandor said, ”I’ve already notified the management at Kepler Base, the rescue team is heading your way...”

”No, I don’t need the rescue team.”

Huai Shi thought for a moment, then seriously said, ”I will arrive at Kepler Valley Base before the scheduled launch without any incidents, Mr. Garandor.”

He said, ”There will be no incidents.”

The old man seemed stunned for a moment, his expression solemn, ”Don’t push yourself.”

Underneath the helmet, Huai Shi smiled slightly.

After a brief silence, Garandor seemed to understand something, and nodded.

”Well then, before the scheduled launch time arrives, I’ll be waiting for you.”

He said, ”Hope you make it.”

The communication cut off, the beam retracted back into the quickly folding beacon, which Huai Shi tossed into his pocket.

Well, now that the bragging is done.

It’s time to think about how to achieve this...

Through the helmet, Beelzebub noticed his dangerous gaze, and suddenly the iron book pages trembled: ”No more, no more, not a single drop left... Even if you ask me to change it for you, I can’t bring anything out!”

Just kidding, the recent summoning of Osiris’ afterimage had nearly drained all of Huai Shi’s Source Substance.

Moreover, there was no physical presence, it’s like holding onto an airplane design expecting to fly, completely unrealistic.

”Look at what you’re saying, as if I forced you into anything.” Huai Shi looked misunderstood, helpless and sighed.

Haha... I know you all too well!

A rolling-eye emoticon appeared on Beelzebub’s cover.

”Friendly reminder, buddy, you’ve only got three hours of oxygen left, why don’t we just call for rescue, wouldn’t that be more hassle-free?”

”Rest assured, I already have a plan!”

Huai Shi lowered his head, looked around, and began to think.

Searching for anything useful.

Hmm, tools scattered everywhere.

A huge pile of cables.

Then, he found an iron stick.

From the wreckage of the airborne cabin, he found three wheels used for gliding and an unknown purpose but completely twisted frame.

And a sufficiently large iron plate.

After gathering two welding rods and a welding gun.

Huai Shi turned back, looking at the energetic dog jumping around the junkyard, revealing an unusually gentle smile.

”Come here, buddy.”

He hid the cable-made snare behind his back, calling softly, ”I’ve got something good to show you~”

.

.

”We shouldn’t have waited for the Astronomical Society’s enforcer!”

In the lounge, a middle-aged man wrapped in a blanket said angrily, ”It’s no longer safe on the Moon; we should take off immediately! Otherwise, if something happens...”

”Enough, Rachelle.”

The man smoking a cigar on the sofa said, ”This is Garandor’s decision, you can question it, but you must comply.”

Rachelle’s expression stiffened for a moment, then turned increasingly sullen: ”You haven’t experienced any attacks, so you don’t need to worry. You think I’m just talking nonsense, don’t you?”

”Relax, Rachelle,” the cigar-smoking man sighed, ”Trust me, you’re safe here.”

Rachelle sneered, wanting to retort, but in the end, said nothing. Muttering softly, he closed his eyes.

The bandages on his abdomen no longer seep blood.

And behind him, the light on the door of the operating room continued to shine red.

Emergency surgery in progress.

Aside from Huai Shi... a total of six alchemists encountered unknown attacks.

Two survivors.

Earthquakes, air leaks, toxins, even meteorites...

Everything seemed like an accident.

Besides that, on their way, others encountered abnormal events more or less.

It’s as if everyone was cursed.

Everyone faced unexpected events.

And disturbingly, the more profound someone’s alchemical skills, the more dangerous the incidents they encountered.

Including in their midst...

Grandmaster Garland!

Outside the lounge, inside a separate isolation chamber, terrifying high temperatures spread, turning it into a furnace.

The rapidly operating dialysis machine couldn’t eliminate the intense heat, almost burning through completely, yet the skeleton was miraculously maintained, never annihilating.

Filtering each drop of hot blood, then transmitting it back into the aging shell.

On the recliner, Garland’s eyes drooped.

As if slumbering.

Only the lava-like blood flowed silently.
