Chapter 1071: Chapter 829: Crash Landing

Meanwhile, the piercing sirens exploded suddenly from the Mitra Space Station.

In an instant, the detection screens turned crimson red, and as the radio waves spread and reflected, countless tiny specks of light suddenly appeared on what had been empty screens.

”What is this?”

The station chief widened his eyes: ”Missiles?”

”No, much smaller than missiles... the material analysis has come out: wait, iron, nickel, and silicon...”

The observer glanced at the report on the upper right and was incredulous: ”Is this a meteorite? A cluster of small meteorites!”

At that moment, the entire Mitra shook violently for an instant.

Solar panel B4 lost signal!

Immediately followed by a shock alarm in the cycle chamber!

Before that, the emergency evacuation procedures had already kicked in, with countless people hurriedly rushing around. The station chief turned back and shouted furiously: ”What about the force field? Where’s the force field generator?”

”It’s temporarily shut down due to the parachute deployment,” the operator’s face was pale: ”It’s still preheating, chief, just five seconds, only five seconds!”

Five seconds—who knows what could happen in those five seconds!

And now, the critical question is...

What to do about the drop pod?

On the screen display, Mitra’s server has instantly calculated the orbit and size of the meteor cluster. It’s no different from other meteorites; after being captured by the Moon’s gravity, it’s drawing closer to the Moon, expected to fall into the Chenghai Area after orbiting once.

But the question is, why didn’t the radar alert earlier?

Only when it was five kilometers away did it respond—five kilometers, which may seem distant to people on Earth, but in terms of space reaction time, it’s already within arm’s reach—urgent and imminent!

The Mitra Space Station was merely on the edge of the meteorite cluster’s orbit, and the drop pod was descending.

In an instant, the server calculated.

—The drop pod is now blocking the meteorite cluster’s path!

”Mr. Huai! Mr. Huai! Can you hear me? Please respond!” The station chief gripped the communicator, repeating continuously: ”Emergency situation, please activate auxiliary thrust engines immediately, please conduct evasive maneuvers promptly...”

No response.

The station chief turned, looking at the communication manager; the manager shook his head: ”There’s radio interference during the descent process, remote control is impossible.”

Amidst the violent shaking, the entire ring-shaped space station trembled like a leaf in the rain, continuously vibrating, with countless detached solar panels soaring silently in the dark vacuum.

Like scales shedding from a devouring snake.

Soon, under the scholars’ control, a transparent repelling shield enveloped the space station, triggering dazzling spots of light and ripples continually in the void.

They are all from the impact of the Iron Stone!

”We must increase altitude; the target of the Mitra Space Station is too large,” the observer reported back: ”Sir, we need to take emergency evasive action—”

The station chief paused for a moment, painfully closing his eyes.

He made a Mercury Holy Badge over his chest.

Praying for Huai Shi’s safety.

At that instant, sixteen engine nozzles simultaneously burst into flames, pushing the Mercury Space Station to begin climbing towards a higher orbit.

Meanwhile, more silently arriving meteor showers were already rushing into the lunar orbit.

In the camera’s observation, the drop pod was shaking violently.

Suddenly, a burst of flames!

.

.

The sky spun and the earth shifted.

Huai Shi’s vision went dark, followed immediately by intense shaking.

Like being hit hard with a punch.

Such phantom pain emerged from within the shell—not an illusion, but a Resonance from Extreme Interpretation. When the first flash of Death Perception appeared, he even thought the Romans intended to blow him up on the drop pod.

But as the Resonance spread through Extreme Interpretation, enveloping the entire drop pod in perception, he realized the constant impacts landing upon the drop pod.

In the piercing alarm sound, his vision flickered scarlet.

Bleeding in his eyes.

Like floating in dark space, attacked by countless enemies. There’s no need for a large mass to crash, as the momentum accumulated during the long space journey is sufficient for a small meteorite to destroy everything.

Even a meteorite the size of a fingertip would cause irreparable damage to the drop pod.

What the hell is this about?

Huai Shi was not alright, nor was the dog.

What the hell is this? What’s going on? How did things suddenly go wrong?

Wasn’t there nothing going wrong on this trip!

Could the heavy fate of the Mitra Space Station resist collapse, yet the manufacturing date of this drop pod is off, and its fortune not strong enough?

What tiny odds would it take to encounter such rubbish circumstances?

One must know, 99.99% and more, even extending to dozens and hundreds of decimal places of space beyond Earth, contain no material whatsoever.

In the vast void of the universe, a drop pod encounters a meteorite cluster?

It’s even more exaggerated than winning the lottery jackpot ten consecutive times.

Even considering that nobody could ever win the lottery jackpot!

But what’s happening now?

Fortunately, amid the numerous radio interference noises, he heard a voice faintly coming from the space station.

”...please...engine...auxiliary...engines...”

Huai Shi no longer bothered to follow the instructions, raising his hand and desperately smashing the only button beside him.

But it was of no use.

At the same time, the entire capsule shook once more, and the blood rushed to Huai Shi’s head instantly, only to see the cover above him disappear in an instant.

It was like a terrible fracture had been split open by a knife.

Hit by another meteorite, it suffered heavy damage, and then the entire capsule began to spin violently.

The program’s alarm sounded again from the channel.

It was as if the fighter jet had stalled, and Huai Shi didn’t know what professional term to use, but as his heart sank to the bottom, he heard Tong Ji’s sigh.

In an instant, hope reignited.

”Tong Ji, save me!!”

”Fool, is shouting for me any use now!” Tong Ji was increasingly helpless: ”I can’t fly this thing either!”

”Then why are you sighing!”

”I’m just watching, wondering when you’ll remember...” Tong Ji sighed lightly.

Huai Shi was almost dying of anxiety: ”Remember what?”

Tong Ji rolled her eyes: ”Of course, remember that the main control intelligence of Osiris is in your pocket!”

At that moment, Huai Shi felt pardoned, frantically rummaging through the saddlebag hanging outside, and pulled out The Fly King who was already impatient.

”Don’t tug at Doraemon, hurry and pull me!”

”Pft, scumbag!”

In the Steel book, Beelzebub spat.

When you need me, I’m your dear; when not needed, you stuff me in your pocket and even cut off the WiFi!

But despite the grumbling, Beelzebub had no time for slack during such a crisis. As soon as the Steel book appeared, it automatically unraveled, with countless cables and plugs flying out from between the pages, injecting into every corner of the capsule.

In less than the blink of an eye, everything was under control.

Then, frantically extracting Huai Shi’s Source Substance and its supply, forcefully repaired and awakened the engine system, spewing forth hot flames.

In an endless swarm of meteorites, the capsule shook as if battered by wind and rain, the engines igniting with massive thrust bursting forth.

Quickly pushing Huai Shi, plunging towards the Earth.

Under the constant impact of meteorites, the capsule’s shell continued to peel away, sparks flying, spinning fiercely.

Even escaping the direct path, under the attack of the aftershock, it was still difficult to control its trajectory.

Ultimately, it was too late.

Conditions were limited.

If this were a space shuttle, Beelzebub could maneuver it through the meteorite swarm like drift racing, but a capsule with limited fuel had no room for display of technique.

Could only strive to maintain.

At that moment, Huai Shi gazed through the cracked peak, witnessing the surface of The Moon.

Like an illusion, it seemed ripples spread in the sea.

In that eternal silver-white, emerged deep waves, then countless gray and white moon dust rose into the air, pulled by an invisible force, converging.

Finally forming an extraordinarily lifelike massive hand, fingers spread, seemingly adorned with rings.

Aiming at the capsule remotely.

The five fingers outlined in the void, leaving a trace of Source Substance, a rapidly deployed Alchemy Matrix.

In an instant, invisible gravity burst forth, pulling the capsule into its palm.

And the slightly rotating pinky, emitted beams of light, flying against gravity towards space, shattering the large meteorites heading towards the capsule one by one.

Guiding, guiding the capsule, to fall into the palm.

Someone intervened!

But as they grew closer, Huai Shi barely had time to breathe a sigh of relief, only to see a meteorite flying diagonally, smashing into its fingertip, causing that finger to bend and break suddenly.

The falling capsule slipped out of the palm.

Carrying terrifying momentum, it crashed towards the ancient silent surface of The Moon!

Comet impact on Earth!

And at that last moment, the pages of Beelzebub’s book flipped violently, casting Osiris’s vast virtual shadow over the perforated capsule.

Countless virtual engine nozzles aimed at the Earth before them.

An illusory rainbow light burst forth.

The remaining power of the Hell Annihilation Machine Armor lasted just a moment.

Shedding the majority of the inertia.

Then, the capsule rolled toward the ground, bouncing violently, bursting into flames, disintegrating, scattering debris all around.

Orange-yellow cushion balls rolled out from within, torn, exposing a honeycomb inner layer.

At last, the Sublimator in a bright red space suit slipped out.

Lying on the alien earth.

Huai Shi laboriously turned over, lying amidst the swirling moon dust.

Seeing the eternally black space, and the blue planet hanging below the sun.

In the capsule’s pure oxygen leak alarm, Huai Shi couldn’t help wanting to lift his mask, smoke a cigarette to calm his nerves.

He was still alive.

But someone wanted him dead...

Why?
