Chapter 1053: Chapter 816: Choice

For one hundred and thirty years, the Sword Saint has been invincible across Dongying. Is such power truly the strongest? Yet why is there still a Barbarian General that dominates an era?

The General is so strong, yet he is still imprisoned by the American Genealogy on this island country, isn’t he?

Is the American Genealogy strong?

It has manipulated one-third of the border through finance and economy, monopolized numerous Hell developments, indeed an unattainable behemoth for the ordinary. But among the six genealogies, America is still considered the weakest.

Then which is the strongest genealogy? Rome? Egypt? Dongxia? Is Dongxia’s strongest, Fu Canlight, capable of doing anything he wishes? Yet above him, there’s still the Soldier Owner.

But doesn’t the Soldier Owner still obey the Xuan Niao?

The strength of the Dongxia Genealogy is immense, but essentially it’s an extension of Dongxia. So is Dongxia the strongest? But it’s just one of the Five Constants.

Such an immense power of the Five Constants still cannot maintain the world’s operation. They still need the reconciliation and mobilization of the Astronomical Society. Under the suppression of the three major locks, maintain the Current Circumstances to operate as usual.

Yet the Astronomical Society still has the downfall of Utopia, the Jurisdiction Bureau cannot change its increasingly bloated state, while the Existence Institute endures the pressure of rising distortion day after day, making corrections tirelessly day and night.

And the Golden Dawn is still expanding its influence in Hell.

Not to mention those existences in the silent zones deep in Hell, even the Element of Destructive, enough to overthrow the Current Circumstances...

If death-causing power is to be deemed the strongest, then the strongest power lies in Hell.

But is such power valuable to the Current Circumstances?

Obsessing over the power itself is never meaningful; what you gain is nothing more than a string of ever-expanding dull numbers.

Power is valuable, but the true importance lies in the purpose of using this power. Otherwise, what difference does a Sublimator have from a fixed-term bank account?

”In the past, every disciple graduating from a swordsmanship dojo diligently pursued the way of the Samurai and the writings of the Saints. But ultimately, it was all just to cultivate more loyal subordinates and lackeys.”

The Sword Saint said lightly, ”The disciples seek power also to find a way to advance, to become Samurai, and the Court Officials too have gained loyal subordinates... From the perspective of interests, it seems that’s largely the case.

That’s precisely why they bear the infamy of ’using martial arts to break the law.’

Samurai must be tools, Samurai are swords and blades, Samurai are lackeys... Such sayings are widely circulated, and many even consider it themselves.

Even tools have their desires, even swords have their thoughts.”

”I sincerely hope that you all can be different.”

The Sword Saint said, ”Times have changed, everyone, you still have options.”

As he said this, he did not hide the aging and decline exuding from him, but his eyes became sharper, as if to engrave his words into the disciples’ Souls.

You still have choices.

If you don’t want to become a tool with empty strength, then you must make a choice!

”Today, the few guests I invited should be quite familiar to everyone.”

In the silence, Shangquan slowly informed them, ”Here, some are from the Deer’s Sing Hall, representing the supreme authority of Yingzhou; some are from the Astronomical Society, representing the unnegotiable order of the Current Circumstances; some are from the border, free and unrestrained; there are also guests from the Tomb of the Homeless, who are authoritative in Hell...

If anything on this land can be deemed the possessor of the strongest power, undoubtedly it is what they represent.

They are far superior to me, this old man. What they have accomplished and created is far beyond me—what you desire, you may seek on their paths.”

”Today is your final lesson. You have already grasped the basics of swordsmanship. As your teacher, I have no further guidance to offer. In such a short time, there are no secrets I can pass on to you.

Therefore, I can only help you open the door to the future.”

Shangquan Sword Saint lifted his gaze, staring at this group of graduating disciples: ”Now, you possess what you need to achieve power.

From here, the path needs to be walked by you.

It’s up to you to decide where to apply your power.”

Thus, full of anticipation and hope, he softly taught: ”Be reckless if you wish, adhere to the right path if you want... Just hope that in the face of death, you can all find satisfaction and insight.”

Shangquan said, ”This is the only expectation as your teacher that I hold for you.”

In the solemn silence, all the disciples slowly rose, bowing grandly to the old man before them.

Offering their pure gratitude to the teacher.

This was the Sword Saint’s final instruction.

Guiding the path to the future...

In the gathering, Huai Shi shook his head self-deprecatingly.

Unexpectedly, the Sword Saint sent him an invitation, all to pull him out as a teaching example.

At the same time, witnessing the Sword Saint’s sincerity—if in the future any disciples of the dojo were to come to the Tanbo Inner Circle seeking positions, would he not have to consider it?

Besides himself, people from the Yingzhou Jurisdiction Bureau, people from the Deer’s Sing Hall, people from Tengu Mountain, people from the Tomb of the Homeless, and even agents of other business Tycoons...

This wave, indeed, is a direct large-scale talent recruitment market.
