Chapter 1047: Chapter 811: He Owes You Thanks Too (2)

”If my student has committed any violations, the dojo is welcome to bring them up, and I will certainly punish severely without mercy.

But if you want me to hand over my student for some baseless reason, you might as well ask me to crawl and kowtow all the way to the Sword Saint and offer my sincerest apologies...”

Huai Shi said, ”After all, wouldn’t it have the same effect, right?”

”...”

In the silence, the middle-aged samurai, furious, drew his sword, but his wrist was firmly pressed by his companion, making it impossible to unsheathe the sharp blade.

Beside him, the younger samurai nodded, responding respectfully, ”You are right, it was too reckless of us today. We will bring your words back exactly as they are.”

Thus, they watched the two leave.

Huai Shi couldn’t help but sigh and looked toward the corner.

”You’ve caused quite a stir, Teacher Luo...”

In the shadows of the corner, the tough old man appeared, as if he had just returned from a workout, with a drenched towel draped over his shoulder.

Sweat covered his body.

He looked at him askance.

”What nonsense are you spouting?”

Luo Lao retorted, ”It’s not like I sent your student to the Sword Saint’s doorstep to court disaster... To tell you the truth, your student is just like you, in terms of courting disaster, they’re going to outshine the master.”

”Even without Little Nineteen, wouldn’t the outcome be the same?”

Huai Shi rolled his eyes.

Yuan Yuan, an outsider, stepped on the faces of so many dojo disciples to become famous, would the dojo just let it go?

Not to say the dojo is petty, if someone from Deer’s Sing Hall came to Tanbo Inner Circle to participate in the Extreme Path Alliance and boasted to the Huaizhi Gang that they want to fight ten, it would nauseate Huai Shi.

What are you trying to pull, punk?

Think the boss is dead?

Luo Lao’s orders and actions essentially prematurely triggered friction between Tanbo Inner Circle and Huangquan Slope, making two closely adjacent powerful neighbors aware of each other’s threat.

Never mind if what Little Nineteen did violated the dojo rules, just his exaggerated record of twelve hundred swords would never be tolerated and recognized by the dojo.

The people who came today asking for him to hand over Little Nineteen were merely probing.

Trying to figure out whether it was Huai Shi’s intention or Wood Cottage acting on their own, while also trying to recover some face and force Huai Shi to bow to the dojo.

Even if he handed him over, Huai Shi wouldn’t gain anything.

Besides, Huai Shi hasn’t gotten into the habit of using his students as cannon fodder.

After today, it seems unlikely that both sides can coexist peacefully.

But Little Nineteen inevitably had to be gutsy this once, when a student becomes famous, can a teacher fail to rise to the occasion?

More than anything, he’s more concerned about Luo Lao’s intentions.

”Why are you stirring the pot so gleefully between Tanbo and the dojo...? Just what are you trying to do?”

Huai Shi pinched his chin, examining the old man in front of him, ”You’re not planning to bump heads with the Sword Saint, are you?”

Once he spoke, he couldn’t help but laugh at himself.

But Luo Lao didn’t laugh.

Instead, he looked calmly at Huai Shi.

”Yeah.” He said.

”...”

Huai Shi was completely numbed, dumbstruck, ”Are you serious?”

”Of course it’s serious, who would joke about this kind of thing?”

The old man asked in confusion, ”I remember back then, you asked me who was stronger between me and the Sword Saint, didn’t you? Now you chicken out. This isn’t like you.”

”What nonsense, I’ve got a big family and business now, how many people are living off me, can I afford to act recklessly?”

Huai Shi couldn’t help but roll his eyes, ”Besides, I’m not worried about Tanbo being unable to beat the dojo, I’m worried you can’t beat the Sword Saint, okay?”

Back then, Luo Lao punched his teacher into the Abyss, it was exhilarating, but ultimately shattered his path to ascension, with no possibility of further advancement.

No matter how strong your lactic acid accumulation extreme interpretation is, it’s useless if you can’t hit anyone.

As for the Sword Saint, who has been famous for hundreds of years, a Fifth Stage veteran, whose disciples are masters... In Yingzhou, he is a colossus like the Five Mountains Sword Sects, perhaps a single dojo can rival two mountains, almost like Shaolin or Wudang.

As for Luo Lao, one Golden Wheel King is already too much!

Huai Shi is at most a Dalba...

What’s this old man thinking?

But the biggest problem now is, if he insists on acting recklessly, Huai Shi can’t stop him.

The current strategy is to quickly invite Xiao Xian Buddha...

Luo Lao glanced over, immediately knowing what he was up to: ”Xiao Xian should have gone to Lop Nur these days, she is almost in India... Her phone has no signal, so don’t bother contacting.”

”So you’re deliberately timing this?!”

Huai Shi was dumbfounded.

In the long silence, he finally couldn’t help but angrily slap the table.

”Teacher Luo, this move of yours isn’t right.” He frowned and questioned, ”You should just call me if you want to arm-wrestle with the Sword Saint, if we lose, you go back to Dongxia and I go back to the Astronomical Society, we still have a bright future. But why are you involving so many people now?”

Once the conflict spirals out of control, there will be no reconciliation possible between the dojo and Tanbo.

The impact of two colossi colliding will trigger formidable waves, which will not be beneficial for the currently recovering Tanbo.

Huai Shi painstakingly pulled them out of Hell, not to lead them to ruin.

”Don’t worry, I won’t touch your precious ones.”

Luo Lao glanced at him, ”I don’t have a habit of asking others for help in fights. At most, I’ll use you guys as an introduction during Sword Hunting.

You think I come to Kyoto without him knowing?

Lin’s Little Ghost’s antics are probably under his nose, didn’t he also come back intact?”

The old man raised his thermos, sipping protein powder.

”Why panic, he might even thank you.”

Thanks?

Huai Shi laughed out of anger.

Counting on the Sword Saint to thank him is like hoping he could defeat Golden Dawn!

After speaking, not even two hours passed and the dojo envoy hurriedly arrived again.

Completely changed from previous arrogance, they respectfully presented three invitation letters.

All handwritten by the Sword Saint himself!

The thin invitations seemed to have the weight of ten-thousand pounds, to Huai Shi’s meager calligraphy skills, he couldn’t see any particular brilliance in the pen strokes resembling Dragon and Snake.

But at least he recognized what was written.

As if nothing had happened, Shangquan Sword Saint enthusiastically invited Huai Shi and his two skilled disciples to attend the dojo’s celebration banquet.

Even acknowledging the achievements of Wood Cottage and Yuan Yuan!

Appointing Yuan Yuan as the chief for the Sword Hunting matches!

Though disqualifying Wood Cottage from the first position for lacking sword skills, they ranked right behind Yuan Yuan, even praising their courage as unmatched...

Huai Shi held the invitations, turning them over and over, looking through a magnifying glass, couldn’t understand the Sword Saint’s true intentions.

Just saw full of the words ”Thank You” throughout the lines!

”See, I told you, didn’t I?”

Luo Lao laughed mischievously beside, ”Without a single drop of your sweat or blood, you just need to sit back, enjoy the music, eat and drink well, and finally leave with gifts. They might even escort you to the door, welcoming you back next time!”

Saying that, he picked up the thermos, hummed a tune, and left.

Leaving Huai Shi dumbstruck.

Can’t figure out...

What exactly are these two old devils up to!
