Chapter 1046: Chapter 811: He Ought to Thank You

The next day, in the afternoon.

Huai Shi lazily sprawled out in the office, flipping through the documents in front of him that basically just needed his signature to be done, once again feeling the emptiness and dullness of life.

Suddenly saying goodbye to a life of tension and adventure, starting to run industries and make money, reaching the peak of life... It feels like the only way is downhill from here.

One or two days is fine, but after too long, you start to feel restless.

The consequence of avoidance.

”When will these days ever end...” Huai Shi sighed loudly.

The Secretary couldn’t help but shake her head, ”You must be joking, Mr. Huai Shi, everyone wishes days like this would never end.”

Huai Shi was about to speak when he heard a knock on the office door.

Yamashita entered with a serious expression, about to speak, but upon seeing the Secretary, said nothing. The Secretary tactfully stood up and excused herself to make tea.

”What’s going on, why so serious?” Huai Shi looked up from the sofa.

”Boss, the dojo people are here.”

”Oh, let them come.” Huai Shi shrugged. ”Tanbo didn’t set up any barriers or roadblocks, if they want to wander around, let them wander...”

Yamashita cleared his throat, ”They came to see you.”

”What do they want with me?” Huai Shi asked with curiosity, ”Are they here to invite me to the Sword Hunting?”

”They sent people to ask if we were involved in the incident yesterday, their attitude is quite arrogant.” Yamashita said darkly, ”If you ask me, this kind of baseless accusation...”

His words were cut off by Huai Shi.

The young man on the sofa slowly got up and said seriously, ”But wasn’t it indeed us who did it, right?”

”... ” Yamashita was stunned.

Huai Shi shrugged, ”Since we did it, we should openly acknowledge it, no need to cover it up. Just tell them—it was done under my orders, isn’t it settled?”

Back then, it was he who said that if the Master had business, the disciple should handle the labor, and sent the students to participate in the Sword Hunting.

Now that the students achieved something, it’s not like he could turn his back on them, right?

”It was arranged by me,” he said, ”No need for further words.”

”...”

After hesitating for a long time, Yamashita bowed his head and said: ”They... they also want us to hand over the culprit, to bring them back to the dojo.”

In fact, Yamashita’s recount was already very polite.

The arrogant attitude of those who came was far from being the demeanor of a guest, instead, they appeared to be looking down upon others to hold them accountable. Their language was full of impoliteness, and their commanding tone unknowingly ground a lot of teeth.

If it wasn’t for someone as sensible as Yamashita blocking the way, the Huaizhi Gang might have simply started a brawl on the spot.

And Huai Shi, still cracking sunflower seeds, was full of puzzlement.

The only sound in the room was the crisp noise.

”I have to say, they’re using the term ’culprit’ quite strangely.” Huai Shi calmly retorted, ”Did my students do something against the rules?”

Yamashita was stunned, rendered speechless.

He was clueless about how his boss’s mind worked.

Did something against the rules? From beginning to end, where was anything remotely rule-abiding in this matter...

What Lin Zhongxia did yesterday has already spread throughout Yingzhou, it can be said to be widely renowned, countless samurai from dojo backgrounds see it as a disgrace.

It was simply the biggest scandal since the dojo’s establishment.

If it weren’t for Huai Shi’s high status that was not easily insulted, who knows how many people would have charged up to the doorstep to shatter jade by now.

One can only say young calves are not afraid of tigers, the Lin family inherently has a talent for profoundly offending people.

And without a doubt, Lin Zhongxia is the most outstanding of the lot.

Combining the specialties from both the Lin family and his teacher, they began to surpass their teachers...

After deceiving over a thousand swords in front of the dojo’s doors, they patted their butts and went home, leaving behind a broken teapot that had aged for several months in a cesspit for antiquing.

It was like performing an entire song of New Treasure Island right under the Sword Saint’s nose.

A vivid demonstration of the phrase ’courting death’.

Upon hearing Huai Shi’s words, not just Yamashita, but even the two so-called dojo envoys waiting outside the door turned livid with rage, almost drawing their swords to avenge their school’s honor.

”But the problem is, they never said it wasn’t allowed!”

Huai Shi clapped the seeds off his hands, feigning innocence as he asked: ”With so many cases of people being ambushed, drugged, or even ’romantic traps’ to snatch swords, they don’t manage a single one of them, so why are they coming after my kids?

Anyway, didn’t they play this same set very skillfully at Ikedaya in the past? Oh, forgot, back in the day, the retreating forces that were cut down at Ikedaya included some dojo students... You’d think over the years, they’d learn a lesson, but being so credulous isn’t something to blame us for, right?”

”Enough is enough, Mr. Huai Shi!”

The middle-aged samurai behind the door gripped his sword’s hilt tightly, roaring in rage: ”To what extent do you intend to humiliate us!”

”Just stating facts and reasoning, is that called humiliation?”

Huai Shi retorted coldly, ”My students are uprightly and openly following the rules of Sword Hunting, accepting swords personally handed over by dojo disciples right in front of the dojo’s entrance.

Which article, section, or clause of your rules says it’s not allowed for people to loiter around your entrance?”

As he spoke, he lifted his eyes, as if his gaze penetrated the door and landed on the faces of those outside, solemnly and seriously telling them:
