Chapter 1028: Chapter 796: Taking Action

Do you really think that the Ivory Tower’s methods will work in Yingzhou?

Inside the departing car, Dudorijho Liangshengjian hung up the phone and let out a cold laugh.

Soon, the phone lit up once again.

”Mr. Dudorijho, this is Dainei.” A low voice came from the phone: ”What was Mr. Huai Shi’s response?”

”After all, he’s young, still has that reckless spirit, and won’t change without setbacks. That mindset will only lose him more favor with others.”

Dudorijho Liangshengjian replied, ”As you expected at Dainei, he’s not easy to approach.”

”Looks like Luo Su’s student for sure.”

Dainei on the other end of the phone sighed, ”Exactly like Luo Su fifty years ago, sharp and never leaving room for compromise. But the issue in Tanbo can’t be solved just by bravery and fighting. The authority of the Ivory Tower is vast, but if it wants to exert influence on the land of Yingzhou, it needs to be discounted.

Current Circumstances? If Current Circumstances were so easy to settle in, we wouldn’t have waited until today.”

Current Circumstances are vast, but not an inch of land is spare.

This isn’t something solved by killing and arson.

Being arrogant and stubborn, not understanding compromise and cooperation, only leads to self-destruction.

Moreover, this is Kyoto, the stronghold of the Yingzhou Phylogeny, how could it allow an outsider to be unruly?

”Do we need to take further action?” Dudorijho asked.

”No need,” Dainei said, ”Drawing a line around the Tanbo Inner Circle is already a done deal, we don’t need to oppose the Astronomical Society, nor do we need to provide them with ammunition.”

He said, ”We don’t need to oppose, as long as we don’t support, he’ll find it difficult to move forward.”

The phone call ended.

Dudorijho closed his eyes and said no more.

Gradually drifted away.

.

.

For Huai Shi, friction with the Yingzhou Phylogeny was something expected.

In Kyoto, the heartland of the Yingzhou Phylogeny, any organization seeking existence must inevitably interact with the Yingzhou Phylogeny. Actually, in the original plan, even if cooperation was necessary, Huai Shi could endure it.

But cooperation doesn’t mean cooperating in this manner.

It needs to be based on an equal premise, not a condescending granting of favor, or with ulterior motives.

Clear priorities are the way to cooperate.

Otherwise, it’s just unilateral exploitation and control.

Cooperate today, will the Deer’s Sing Hall station troops for protection tomorrow? Will the Tanbo Inner Circle bear military expenses the day after tomorrow? And what’s next, a demand for Tanbo’s labor and blood?

Daydreaming.

If it really comes to that, Huai Shi might as well throw his face into the Abyss and never leave Xinhai again in his life.

He was already prepared for the Deer’s Sing Hall to trip him up.

But the other’s speed seemed faster than he imagined.

By the next morning, he received news from the bank.

The loan process had hit a snag.

Among the banks, one East Asia Sincerity Bank suddenly requested to pause negotiations, citing recent fluctuations in the Pure Gold and Source Crystals exchange rate, leading to continuous shrinkage in trade along the Asian Border, among other unexpected situations, necessitating a reevaluation of Tanbo Inner Circle’s prospects.

Due to the substantial loan amount required by Tanbo Inner Circle, it adopted a syndicate loan approach.

Not just one bank, but a group led by Magic Gold Bank and Ancient Fund, consisting of seven banks, pooling risk to provide loans to Tanbo Inner Circle.

Sincerity Bank at this moment suddenly demanded to reassess Tanbo’s evaluation materials, immediately interrupting the ongoing negotiation procedure and putting the loan in limbo.

This international bank headquartered in Jakarta has over twenty percent shares held by the Sakai Commercial District, and behind Sakai is their real controller... Which is already self-evident.

”So quick to trip me up?”

Huai Shi chuckled.

”I’m sorry, Mr. Huai Shi.” The Magic Gold Bank representative shrugged helplessly, ”According to procedure, they have the right to do this. If they insist on this issue, this time your loan might be delayed for a long time, and we’re powerless.”

It’s not about being powerless, it’s about being unwilling to help.

Only once Huai Shi lowers his stance, will they see better terms.

”Don’t worry, I believe the future is bright, correct?” Huai Shi responded with a smile, ”I sincerely welcome your evaluation on behalf of the Tanbo Campus. Such a large sum of money deserves it.”

The Magic Gold Bank dwarf nodded, unable to distinguish if Huai Shi was sincere or bluffing, but it didn’t matter. Since their allies jumped out to attract fire, they happily took advantage.

With Magic Gold Bank’s scale, if Sincerity Bank can take a share, they can eat three times as much.

Why not?

”Well then, let’s wish for everything to go well.” he politely took his leave.

Within two hours, rumors of loan failure sprang up out of nowhere, spreading across the Tanbo Inner Circle and even Kyoto, as if growing legs, stirring up a new commotion out of thin air.

And in tomorrow’s news interview, after the spokesperson from Ancient Fund personally confirmed the reassessment of Tanbo’s prospects and a re-evaluation, the stock of allied industries, including Quiet Communications Electrone, began a new round of plunge.

In a place like Yingzhou where the stock market is as stagnant as a dead pond, it’s truly a ’miracle’.

But no one wants this kind of miracle.

It’s not just the investors—soon, panic spread to the streets, and people were in a state of fear.

Rumors flew that that bastard Huai Zhisu was whoring, gambling, and drinking away, embezzling a billion and planning to flee with nine mistresses.

”Counter the rumors?”

Huai Shi looked at Yamashita in confusion: ”Why counter the rumors? There’s no need.”

”But, if allowed to continue...”

”What will happen if it’s allowed to continue?” Huai Shi questioned.

If allowed to continue, it will surely stir unrest, and many chaotic seeds will sprout... these are self-evident truths.

”But, have some people mistaken something?”

Huai Shi said softly, ”I am the leader of the Alliance, I am indeed the current King of Tanbo. I came here wanting to make everything better... I’ve done so much already, Yamashita, but why do some still feel like it’s my debt to them?”

Yamashita stood silent beside him, not daring to speak, sweating like rain.

Recently, with changes in life, the restless atmosphere in Tanbo Inner Circle also visibly increased, with many beginning to call for more benefits and better treatment under the banner of equality and fairness, even thinking today’s changes are insufficient, wanting better.

But in reality, the changes in Tanbo Inner Circle have never concerned them; they’ve never even added a brick or tile to it.

More grabbed opportunities, striving and working tirelessly day and night, while they simply sat waiting for the ship beneath them to move on its own.

For Huai Shi, this wasn’t about being insatiable nor feeling betrayed. If laziness is human nature, then the bad habits left behind by the former Tanbo Inner Circle were far beyond this.

Old habits die hard.

Once accustomed to the brutal life of survival of the fittest, some things inevitably linger with pain and lessons.

To be as it is today has already surprised Huai Shi greatly.

Even now, some were actively maintaining Huai Shi’s reputation, with construction sites and other places unaffected in their work.

The Tanbo Inner Circle continues to operate as usual.

”Therefore, we cannot let it go on anymore.”

Huai Shi stared out at the noisy construction under the night sky: ”At the very least, we can’t let those who trust us be disappointed, right?”

Admittedly, some are beyond salvation, but that’s no reason to give up on more people.

”There’s no need to rush to dispel rumors for now, just find those who’ve forgotten themselves for a bit of money. If they dislike it here, there’s no need to keep them. The world is vast, there are always places that can satisfy them.”

Huai Shi thought for a moment, and seriously instructed: ”These days, put in a little extra effort and personally keep watch, just maintain order. Remember, as long as no major mess occurs, the Huaizhi Gang is not to make any move, understand?

I know some have grown accustomed to the life of a violent group, but violence is a weapon directed outward, not a tool for internal use. Times have changed, the rules have changed.”

Yamashita nodded respectfully: ”You’ve emphasized many times; Myself and other members have kept it in mind.”

”Very well.”

Huai Shi nodded and said, ”Call Little Nineteen over; I have something to say to him.”

Yamashita was indeed right.

At this juncture, something needs to be done.

.

.

Four hours later, deep night.

Kobe · Jinling Town, at the heart of bustling streets, the headquarters of the Triad.

After four years, the Wood Cottage finally saw his Uncle Liu again.

The legendary Old Dragon Head looked anything but old—in fact, he seemed excessively young, almost as if he’s only a few years older.

Face refined, yet astonishingly gaunt, almost like skin and bones.

His hair speckled with white, eyes dark, showing no hint of whites.

Lin Wei was unafraid.

As the brother born to the same father as the contemporary Candle Dragon, he was already ninety-two years old. Under his hand, the Triad steadily developed into a smuggling organization that enveloped the entire East Asia region and even penetrated parts of America.

Countless nightmares were inspired by seeing that sinister face.

Now, it was all warmth and smiles.

”Little Nineteen, you’re here? Why didn’t you say sooner.” The old man waved enthusiastically: ”Come, let Uncle Liu take a look.”

Wood Cottage stepped forward, smiling, letting the old man lift his hand, feeling his shoulders and bones, just like when he was little.

”Much sturdier now, Little Nineteen.” Uncle Liu smiled with satisfaction: ”With your bone structure, you’re destined for a long life, unlike your brother... it’s a pity, your nape is uneven.”

He said, ”There’s a rebellious nature.”

When he smiled, the smile was grim, bowing to look down at the boy before him.

The boy looked back at him.
