Chapter 932: Chapter 739: Conversation (3)

After a long time, he finally remembered. The teacher who said that to him had already died... discovered in a garbage pile, overdosed on drugs, his body rotting.

But from childhood to adulthood, that was the first time he heard someone praise him, someone who truly believed he could amount to something one day... and not turn into garbage.

Even he himself had forgotten about it.

Once again, it came to mind...

”Latin... is it?” he muttered softly, bewildered.

”This? You should’ve said so earlier!” The man behind the desk sighed in relief, as if encountering something worth celebrating, enthusiastically slapping the table: ”If you want to learn, I can teach you!”

”...” Ushijima Qin raised his head in confusion to look at him and saw his smile.

It wasn’t mockery, nor was it sarcasm; not even questioning what he wanted to learn Latin for. Instead, it was filled with anticipation and excitement.

As if teaching him Latin would really make him happy.

Is he crazy?

Ushijima Qin bowed his head, gripping the cup in his hand.

Suddenly, he didn’t want to talk anymore, wanting to find an excuse to leave, when he heard the voice from the opposite side.

That person said to him, ”Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno.”

”Hm?”

”That’s it, you see...”

Huai Shi smiled and directly flipped over the report on the desk, writing with a pen on the blank side, and then pushed it toward him at an angle.

”All for one, one for all—that’s the meaning of this phrase.” Huai Shi explained: ”Simple and easy to understand, we can start learning with this phrase, how about it?”

”...”

Ushijima Qin didn’t speak, staring at him in confusion for a long time, before lowering his head and looking at the paper on the desk, as if he hadn’t understood.

Thus, Huai Shi repeated it again, and then even marked the pronunciation below using Katakana.

He explained the grammar.

Only when Ushijima Qin blankly followed along and repeated it, ensuring every syllable was pronounced correctly, did Huai Shi nod in satisfaction: ”Isn’t this obviously very talented! Remember to review when you go back, Ushijima-kun, next time I’ll definitely quiz you.”

”O-okay...”

Ushijima Qin absently held onto that piece of paper, only realizing what happened after he walked out of the office.

Yet when he bowed his head, he saw that line of words on the paper.

How should he describe this absurdity? He didn’t know. But this person must be crazy, right? Even teaching Latin to someone like him?

Just find a trash can and throw away this piece of junk.

That was his original thought.

Until he accidentally flipped to the front and saw the dense bank transaction records... and various large expenses.

He froze on the spot, subconsciously squeezing the phone in his pocket.

But then, he subconsciously loosened his grip again.

He felt like he might’ve drunk too much, to say so many absurd things, to have such absurd thoughts.

As the remnants of the alcohol gradually faded, he cluelessly lifted his hand, leaned closer to examine the records in front of him, but the sunlight from outside illuminated that line on the back of the paper.

All for one, one for all?

Anyone who says such things must have a problem in their head, right? What was someone who teaches such things thinking? But what can those who truly remember and learn it even count as?

An idiot?

He closed his eyes, unable to suppress the urge to laugh bitterly.

Suddenly, he felt that his own mind was certainly faulty, just like this nonsensical organization. He unexpectedly discovered: being sunk into Kyoto Bay wasn’t something terrifying.

Anyway, hybrids eventually die, whether from illness at forty or suddenly at twenty-five, it seems there’s no real difference.

At worst, just run a bit faster when the time comes...

When he turned around, he finally gathered his courage and pushed open the slightly ajar door behind him: ”Boss Huaizhi, after I finish learning this... can you teach me something new?”

In the office, the man feeding the Raven turned around. Seeing his expression, he laughed joyfully.

That person solemnly nodded, as if it was an honor greater than his own, and told him:

”Alright.”
