Chapter 919: Chapter 732: Negotiation

After hanging up the phone, Huai Shi silently looked down at his mobile phone.

He didn’t expect that after sitting in the police station for just four hours, someone would already be eyeing his slice of the cake.

The so-called Extreme Path is such a cold and realistic place. Even if cloaked in chivalrous deeds and virtue, it cannot change its icy nature.

Just last night, less than three hours after Hisashiga died, the Hisashiga House was dismantled by the remaining four giants in alliance.

After the core industries were divided among the big shots, the remaining scraps were still enough to astonish.

As the top performer among them, the Huaizhi Gang was the first to earn a substantial dividend.

Two bustling nightclubs, a horse racing track, and even a whole floor of land deeds combined in three shopping malls, etc...

Tobio arranged everything impeccably.

The nightclubs are the foundation for the Huaizhi Gang to expand its business and enhance its power, the land deeds provide a steady flow of funds, and the horse racing track is a treasure trove enough to make someone rich overnight.

And now, after the Angry Luo Group took over one nightclub first, even the transfer of land deeds and horse racing track suddenly encountered various problems.

The big shots give you things, and if you can’t hold onto them, you can’t blame others.

Nearby, some other group leaders have already left, escorted by their subordinates, while those who remained didn’t hurry, didn’t consider this place unlucky, and smoked on the side as they watched.

There’s nothing in this world more delightful than watching others having misfortune, especially after everyone just suffered misfortunes, but only this person can still laugh.

Well, it’s karma, kid!

Huai Shi didn’t have to wait long; soon, a phone number was sent to Huai Shi’s phone—Angry Luo Group leader’s number. Huai Shi dialed it, but it rang for a long time without anyone answering until it automatically hung up.

Huai Shi calmly dialed again, again it automatically hung up.

Only on the third try did an impatient voice pick up.

”What a pain, I’m busy here.” The displeased voice said, ”Who is it?”

”Angry Luo Group?”

Huai Shi spoke, calmly asking: ”I am Huai Zhisu, isn’t this matter a bit unscrupulous?”

”Ha...”

The person on the other end was surprised for a moment, then Huai Shi vaguely heard him talking to someone beside him: ”Did you hear it, the Huaizhi Gang called me, haha...”

Soon, the voice came again, seemingly on speaker, instantly becoming noisy: ”Ah, Group Leader of Huaizhi, so sorry, something unexpected happened, making everyone lose face. I hope you understand.”

”Unexpected?” Huai Shi asked.

”Yeah, unexpected.” The man laughed: ”Why don’t this, Huai Shi brother, you just came out, why don’t I host a gathering to help ward off bad luck, and we can have a good chat about this matter, how does that sound?”

Huai Shi sighed, unwilling to drag it out any longer, ”What about Yamashita?”

”What Yamashita?”

”The one you withheld.” Huai Shi asked: ”You have to at least let me know if he’s dead or alive, only then we can negotiate, right?”

The person on the other end chuckled, after some fragmented noise, there was the sound of a door being pushed open, and something heavy fell to the ground.

After some indiscernible angry shouts, there was a burst of chaotic noise.

”Still able to move, a tough guy indeed, hey... Yamashita, right? Your group leader gave you a call, come on, say something.”

”Group leader...” Yamashita’s hoarse voice sounded.

”It’s me.” Huai Shi asked, ”Still alive?”

”Yes.”

”Seems like you’re lucky, at least they gave some face to the president. In the future when I’m not here, don’t fuss over such things with people, lest you lose the goods and die for nothing. Do you think funerals are free?”

After Huai Shi coldly chastised for a couple of sentences, he told him: ”Rest well. Leave the rest to me.”

With a bang, there was a vague muffled groan.

Soon, that voice came again.

”Hey, Huai Shi brother, I heard everything.” Angry Luo Group’s leader coldly laughed: ”Your words are a bit harsh, right?”

”Why don’t we be direct with each other?”

Huai Shi lightly asked: ”I’ve just come out of the police station, still quite whole, no one grabbed me off to jail. But what do you plan to do? Keep making mistakes? Or take advantage of the slope to get off the donkey? Whatever you choose, it’s up to you.”

As Huai Shi became assertive, the voice on the other end turned resigned: ”Ah, what you said, I just didn’t pay attention, right? Now you’re out, I’m embarrassed to keep holding onto it.”

He paused for a moment, changing his tone: ”However, according to the rules of the path, since it’s in my hands, letting me spit it back out... shouldn’t you at least leave me something?”

”Alright.” Huai Shi laughed: ”How much do you want to keep?”

”Half, how is that?” Angry Luo Group leader said: ”We’re like friends after a fight, and in the future, we can...”

”Already eager to toast for brotherhood?”

Huai Shi interrupted him, telling him: ”How about talking face-to-face? Over the phone, it seems a bit insincere.”

”Sure, you come.”

The Angry Luo Group leader heard the implication in the words, coldly laughed: ”I’ll be waiting.”

After giving an address, the call ended.

Huai Shi put away the phone, tucked it into the pocket of his patient gown.

He was directly taken out from the hospital by the police, hasn’t even had time to change clothes.

”Let’s go.” He said to Ueno: ”Don’t keep them waiting.”

Ueno, who just rushed from the hospital with bandages removed, still had stitch marks on his face. Upon hearing Huai Shi’s words, he couldn’t help but be surprised: ”Not going to change clothes?”

”No need, the white clothes are just right, with stripes they look playful, dignified yet lively, aren’t they?”

Huai Shi waved his hand, nodded farewell to the few remaining leaders who hadn’t left: ”Then, see you all tonight, let’s have a drink then and reminisce a bit.”

Watching Huai Shi get into the car, those left behind exchanged glances.

Next, there was a good show to watch.

.

.

The meeting place was called Cicada · livehouse, one of the hottest nightclubs in Kyoto Higashiyama District. It’s also the place given to the Huaizhi Gang by Tenmoku...

After stealing from Huai Shi, they arranged to meet him there, on his own ground.

Ueno understood that this meeting was likely to end badly.

After calling for backup, before getting out of the car, he took a gun from the toolbox, checked the bullets, and stuffed it into his pocket.

”Is it that serious?” Huai Shi in the front passenger seat looked at him and shook his head, ”It’s not necessary.”

Ueno seriously reminded, ”The leader of the Angry Luo Group is not a good guy, he’s done countless double-crossings, very ruthless. Boss, you should be a bit careful.”

”Is that so? What a coincidence, I also enjoy double-crossing, I’m sure we’ll have a lot in common.”

Huai Shi pushed open the car door and walked up the steps.

During the day, before business hours, it was empty in front, with no sign of the crowd that would line up at night. The open door behind was dark, with the lights not yet on.

Some cleaners were still mopping and tidying up, and only one uniformed attendant stood at the door, looking towards the approaching Huai Shi.

”I’m here to see someone from the Angry Luo Group,” Huai Shi said, ”Lead the way.”

The attendant glanced at the two of them, seeing the patient gown on Huai Shi, his brows furrowed immediately: ”Sorry sir, we do not serve guests who are not properly dressed.”

As he spoke, his expression was dignified and serious, as if he didn’t know who Huai Shi was, but he couldn’t hide the panic in his eyes. It was obvious he had been instructed from inside to give Huai Shi a hard time and make him lose face.

Ueno was furious, wanting to grab his collar, but his shoulder was held down by Huai Shi.

He patted Ueno, signaling to calm down, then turned back and asked, ”So, what is considered properly dressed?”

The attendant was stunned, having prepared himself to get beaten, but didn’t expect the other to have such a good temper. He was momentarily confused before continuing: ”At the very least, you must have a tie.”

”A tie? I do have one...”

Huai Shi smiled, ”I even got it from the Metropolitan Police Department, not sure if it meets your standards here.”

As he spoke, he reached into the pocket of his patient gown, pulled out a shiny pair of handcuffs, raised them, shook them, and tossed them to Ueno beside him: ”Help me put it on him.”

Ueno laughed, ”Alrighty.”

The attendant’s face changed dramatically, and the two guards who were standing behind the door rushed out, about to speak, when they saw Huai Shi calmly push them, then push them again.

Amid the sound of bones breaking, the two of them groaned simultaneously, knelt on the ground involuntarily, and spat out mouthfuls of bloody air from their lungs, unable to breathe.

”See, now there are two more ties, hang them on him too, will you?”

Huai Shi looked down at the people at his feet, then turned to instruct Ueno.

Ueno grinned, revealing a mouth full of shark teeth, and with a joyful smile, punched the attendant in the forehead, disregarding his struggles, and pressed him onto the bronze door handle.

The handcuffs wrapped swiftly around the neck, clicked twice, and an iron tie was hung.

Then two uniform ties were also hung on the attendant’s flushed neck.

”Is this good enough?” Huai Shi asked, looking down.

The attendant struggled to breathe, his hands fumbling to free himself from the shackles on his neck, but unable to do so, he could only nod vigorously, his eyes pleading.

So, Huai Shi nodded, withdrew his gaze, and walked through the door.

Behind, Ueno admired his handiwork, smirked, took out his phone to snap a picture, then hurried to follow.

All the way, unimpeded, finally they saw Yamashita dumped on the floor by the dance floor, gasping, with two people beside him kicking and beating him vigorously.

On the seating area, a middle-aged man smoking a cigar turned his head and looked, raising his eyebrows.

”Hey, you actually came?” The Angry Luo Group’s leader sneered, ”Not bad looking, are you the pretty boy from the Huaizhi Gang?”

Huai Shi continued forward, as if he hadn’t heard, only reached into Ueno’s pocket, pulled out the gun, and aimed it at that man’s forehead, pulling the trigger.

With a bang.

Then, the muzzle turned, aiming at the others whose faces still bore mocking smiles, bang, bang, bang, three blasts, done.

Amid the crisp sound of shell casings hitting the ground, no more random noises were heard.

In the brief silence, Huai Shi looked down, gazing at the remaining mocking face, and slightly nodded.

”Yes, I am.” He politely answered.

Then, the screams began to sound, a few people not far away collapsed on the ground, and some wanted to rush up to avenge the leader.

But Ueno had already taken the gun from Huai Shi’s hand, showing off his proud shark teeth.

The fleeting flashes of gunfire blinked and extinguished again.

By the time the ambushers coming from all directions rushed out, everything was already over.

Only that man, sitting on a chair beside the corpse, took the whisky from the table, drank deeply, set down the bottle, and looked at them.

”We’ve finished negotiating, and both parties are very satisfied with the results.”

The man, like an evil ghost, sat in the shadows, lifting his beast-like eyes, and softly asked: ”Now, does anyone else want to talk with me?”
