Chapter 882: Chapter 707: Last Words

To be precise, it’s that Fujimoto is dying.

Everyone is familiar with Fujimoto, but what’s the deal with him dying? Now, let Huai Shi take you through it.

Fujimoto is dying, which basically means Fujimoto is dying. Why is Fujimoto dying? Everyone might be quite shocked, how could Fujimoto die? But that’s the reality, and even Huai Shi feels very surprised.

So, that’s the situation with Fujimoto dying. Doesn’t it feel quite wondrous?

Huai Shi also feels it’s quite wondrous.

Because, damn it, he asked around the whole way but everyone was speaking in circles, and no one had it figured out. Everyone was welcoming him to discuss it together in the comments section.

Discuss what? Speaking in circles?

Huai Shi was almost lost his calm.

It wasn’t until he reached outside the emergency room of the hospital that someone from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police obtained surveillance footage.

Early in the morning, Fujimoto, wearing a mask, came out from a residential house, sneaked around, and after seeing no one was around, got into his van covered with inappropriate graffiti...

”Why is he acting sneaky, like a burglar?” Huai Shi asked subconsciously, and immediately everyone glared at him.

Yo, kid, you need to watch your words.

Calling the boss sneaky, is that really sneaky!

But others suddenly got curious too, as the house in the video was an individual house, while Fujimoto lived in a fancy apartment building, clearly not his home.

They began to question it.

”Should we investigate it?” someone asked.

”Ahem ahem!!!” Yamashita coughed twice hard, looked around, and quietly said, ”Boss has a... has a woman outside... Don’t speak nonsense, Madam is quite strict...”

Alright, turns out he was sneaking out to see a mistress, but the thing is after changing clothes and even wearing sunglasses, couldn’t he have switched cars too!

Huai Shi felt a headache coming on.

Probably, after drinking last night, he just drove over while still drunk, not even noticing he was in such a flashy company car.

In the end, it was karma.

Just after crossing an intersection, there was an accident.

Or rather, a premeditated crash.

A truck charged diagonally, ramming the van waiting at the traffic light against the wall. Then, it quickly reversed and crashed into it again.

Finally, a masked driver jumped out, checked the scene, and was shocked to see Fujimoto still able to crawl out from the car wreck.

But after glancing left and right, finding no one around, he pulled out a knife from his coat and stabbed fiercely multiple times, then turned and fled.

”Bastard!!!”

Watching this, the cadres of the Fujimoto group realized this was a preplanned assassination by their enemies!

Unfortunately, the attacker was just some uninformed ordinary person who didn’t know about Fujimoto’s Hybrid identity—the demonic blood often made people violent, but also overly stimulated glandular hormone secretion, making him extremely resilient.

Even with two stabs to the chest, stomach, and heart, he could still hold on until passersby called the police and an ambulance arrived...

”Revenge! We must avenge the boss!”

Shodai, the enforcer head, Ueno’s face turned red, roaring in the hospital corridor, disregarding the place. He kicked over a trash can beside him, shouting angrily, ”Where is everyone? Where the hell did everyone die off to! Come with me...”

”Calm down, Ueno!” Yamashita said coldly, ”You don’t even know who the other party is, what good will anger do?”

”Fingers.”

Huai Shi, next to him, prompted.

Being new, he wasn’t as agitated as the others, focusing on the phone screen.

When everyone looked over, he pointed to the replay in the surveillance footage: ”This person, the way he holds the knife is quite strange.

Though wearing gloves, the little finger seems to be missing. Unless it’s a machine operation mishap, it should belong to an Extreme Path, right? His walking posture is off too, the right leg seemed to have been broken and is held by a steel plate, which seems to have just been removed...”

Before he could finish speaking, he saw Ueno’s eyes burning red: ”It must be someone from the Tiger King Group! That dog Arisaka Tomoya! I want him dead!!!”

With a clang.

A nurse walking out of the ward was startled, dropping her document board to the floor. Looking at this group of thuggish-looking men, she trembled, speechless.

”The, the patient... said...” She stammered, ”Wants to see, see his family... May I ask who is Mr. Fujimoto’s...”

Before she could finish, Yamashita pushed her away and a group of people finally entered the ward, where they saw the doctor with a solemn expression.

”The patient is on the brink of death, everyone prepare yourselves mentally.”

”What are you saying? Bastard!” Yamashita roared in fury immediately, rushing up and grabbing the doctor by the collar: ”Are you cursing my boss!”

”Yama...shita... Yamashita...”

From the hospital bed came a weak voice; through the oxygen mask, Fujimoto glared with all his strength: ”Yamashita! How much more are you planning to embarrass yourself!”

It was unimaginable that a dying person could still speak with such sharpness. After saying that, blood continuously seeped from Fujimoto’s mouth and nose, his body convulsing violently.

The life-support machines made a shrill noise.

Even for a Hybrid, getting critically injured by a car then stabbed in vital areas... surviving until now was already miraculous. Anyone looking at that pale face would know, Fujimoto’s end was near.

”Boss, I’m sorry, boss.”

Hearing this, Yamashita’s eyes instantly reddened, kneeling by the bed. Everyone else around did not dare to speak further.

Fujimoto was clearly arranging his affairs.

In his final moments, the man reached out, weakly grasping Yamashita’s hand: ”Don’t, don’t seek revenge. This is all... retribution... my retribution. I became too arrogant... dared to get involved in the private affairs of the Five Kings...”

He panted heavily, forehead flushed, and his three ghostly horns were so red they seemed about to bleed, yet unbelievably, his pupils brightened, roused from the stupor.

A flicker of life before death.

He held onto Yamashita’s hand tightly, staring at him with wide eyes, struggling to breathe: ”Yamashita, you are my sworn brother, your character... I trust you the most. In the future, make sure not to... act on your own.”

”I will, I definitely will.”

Yamashita nodded repeatedly, unable to control his sobs: ”Please, brother, rest assured, I will definitely expand the Fujimoto Group, and not let down your expectations...”

”Good, very good.”

Fujimoto let out a sigh of relief, almost as if smiling, blood began flowing in the oxygen mask: ”In the future... the position of president of the Fujimoto Group, give it to... give it to... Huai Shi.”

Deathly silence, sudden and unexpected.

Everyone in the ward froze, no one spoke, just the monotonous beep of the machines, they turned back incredulously, looking at the man who was quietly eating a banana from the fruit basket by the door.

Huai Shi was dumbfounded.

He was completely thrown off.

There was no time to discard the banana peel in his hand, he looked at Fujimoto in confusion: Brother, did you hit your head? You’re messing up even when giving your last words?

”Yamashita’s pronunciation isn’t ’kaishi’!”

Is this your PE teacher’s negligence, or your Chinese teacher’s downfall? I just joined your organization today, don’t make things up, okay!

”B-brother... what did you say?”

”Nothing, did you hear clearly...”

Fujimoto panted heavily, ”I said, from now on, Huai Shi is the leader of the Fujimoto Group, and the Fujimoto Group, will be renamed Huai Shi Gang, did you hear me? Do you... intend to go against my wishes?!”

On the hospital bed, the man covered in blood raised his head, staring intently at their faces, his black pupils contracting into a tiny dot, looking deeply sinister.

”B-brother, this... Huai Shi is still too young.” Fujimoto Group’s junior high, Takase spoke up: ”Why not...”

Fujimoto wearily closed his eyes, patting Yamashita’s hand.

Bang!

A tremendous noise, like an iron hammer, struck everyone’s hearts.

It was Yamashita, turning around, pulling out the gun from his pocket, aiming it at Takase’s face, and pulling the trigger without waiting for that puzzled expression to respond.

In an instant, blood splattered, Takase fell backward.

Everyone was stunned in place.

Including Huai Shi.

Yamashita remained expressionless, just lowered his raised arm, not caring about the bloodstains on the sleeve of his suit.

”The boss’s intentions have been made very clear.” This thin middle-aged man looked around at everyone’s faces: ”Who agrees, who opposes?”

Huai Shi wanted to say he opposed.

But looking at the gun in Yamashita’s hand, and his bloodshot eyes, wisely swallowed words back without speaking.

Thus, the matter of the Fujimoto Group’s second leader Huai Shi’s swift rise gained unanimous approval and affection from everyone, passing on the spot!

Soon, at Fujimoto’s indication, everyone left.

In the ward, only the dying Fujimoto, Huai Shi, and... Takase’s corpse on the ground remained.

Fujimoto painfully lifted his hand, pointing to his personal belongings nearby.

”The phone password... is 666666, after I die, contact... Green, Green Day...” Fujimoto rasped, ”They will definitely... help you...”

Huai Shi was utterly lost.

Being looked at with that kind of pleading and hopeful gaze, suddenly becoming the second leader of an Extreme Path Organization, yet still just a filmmaker, was completely beyond his reaction.

”No, brother, can’t you choose someone else?” He glanced around, lowered his voice, and whispered: ”I-I’m an undercover agent... I really didn’t plan to do this!”

Fujimoto wasn’t surprised, not even angry.

”I know, I figured it out... but I didn’t say, no one, no one said...”

Under his blood-stained oxygen mask, Fujimoto’s mouth twitched, as if smugly smiling: ”Huaizhi-kun, what man wouldn’t want to be a male star?”

”Don’t talk nonsense now, brother, we’re talking about undercover!”

Huai Shi widened his eyes, feeling increasingly bewildered, unable to figure out how he had blown his cover.

”Are you... an idiot?” Fujimoto slightly shook his head, examining the face before him, sighed tiredly: ”Because in your eyes, there’s not a trace of hatred.”

That guy Tanaka brought in felt problematic, he had sensed it vaguely for a long time.

When Huai Shi mentioned Green Day, he more or less understood.

Clearly, he felt this guy might be undercover, yet unexpectedly, he couldn’t summon any hatred.

Green Day’s people didn’t notice, but he saw: Huai Shi walking out of Elsa’s Home that time, head lowered, hiding that about-to-cry expression...

”I’m begging you, Huai Shi-kun, I beg you.”

He gripped Huai Shi’s hand tightly, using all his strength, repeating over and over: ”I beg... everyone is up to you...”

Huai Shi was dazed, feeling the hand holding his gradually losing strength.

Finally, amidst the sharp tone of the heart monitor losing its rhythm, Fujimoto took his last breath, his dimming empty pupils reflecting the young man before him.

Until Huai Shi lowered his head, nodding firmly.

”Don’t worry.” He promised in a low voice: ”I will save you all, I definitely will.”

No response.

Only the last trace of consciousness quietly faded away, never to return.
