Chapter 451: Chapter 390 Big Brother Takes You to Eat!_2

Money is hard to earn, and life’s full of crap you have to swallow. If I got angry over every little comment, I’d have died of rage long ago.

Besides, following them is so convenient. We can go straight through the VIP channel—no queuing up. It saves a ton of hassle.

And there’s a big meal waiting later on.

What a steal!

Worst case, I’ll use my appetite to teach these youngsters a lesson today and show them you can’t judge a book by its cover...

Thinking of food, he casually took out the edamame from his pocket and even shared some with Yuan Zhao, telling him to try it when he had the chance.

Yuan Zhao didn’t mind and casually accepted it, asking, ”Where did you buy these? I didn’t see them in the vehicle?”

”Ah, these? I made them myself, brought them all the way.”

Huai Shi answered nonchalantly, then noticed the shoulders of those walking ahead shaking as if they were suppressing laughter.

Only Yuan Zhao, remembering the monstrosity Huai Shi had cooked during his last live stream, felt his face turn green.

Holding the bag of dubious contents, he debated whether to eat it or not.

”Don’t worry,” Huai Shi shook his head. ”I learned this from Uncle Fang. It won’t kill you; it’s just a bit too salty, so make sure to drink plenty of water with it.”

”Fine then.”

He accepted Huai Shi’s gift with suspicion, afraid this bastard was trying to harm him.

Clearly, that last live stream had created more than one patient suffering from Abyss-food-phobia. After all, not everyone possessed the cast-iron stomach of a Chef Demon competition judge.

The two of them lagged behind the group, deliberately keeping their distance. Seeing how deftly Huai Shi snacked, Yuan Zhao couldn’t help shaking his head. ”You should save some room. We’ve booked a table at an Abyss Star Level restaurant for lunch. Don’t be too full to eat later.”

”Don’t worry, don’t worry,” Huai Shi waved his hand. ”I’ll be fine!”

PFFT.

A muffled laugh came from up front. Wang Xu looked back at Huai Shi, a smirk on his face, and asked Yuan Zhao, ”How about we switch to a more moderately priced restaurant for lunch? That way your friend can eat more comfortably...”

”Don’t talk like that.” Zhao Xinya gently nudged him with her fist. He just shook his head, unfazed.

”...Wang Xu, are you really testing my patience?”

Yuan Zhao sucked his teeth and suddenly arched an eyebrow. ”I’ve been putting up with your incessant yapping all this way. How about I teach you a lesson right here, huh?”

The ferocity, long suppressed by his elder cousin, began to faintly surface.

Wang Xu’s smile stiffened for a moment. He was about to say something when a piercing sound erupted, and a deep horseshoe print appeared on the ground beside him, wedged into the Iron Stone.

The lingering sound was sharp.

It had missed him by a hair’s breadth, then stopped abruptly.

”No need to get angry.”

Huai Shi put a hand on his shoulder and shook his head. ”It’s just a meal. No need to fight over it. We can always meet up some other day.”

There was no need to watch a bunch of kids fight over this.

Face isn’t earned this way.

Although only a few years older, from Huai Shi’s current perspective, their taunts and jibes were far too childish.

Perhaps it was because anyone who had truly angered him had already been cut down?

Huai Shi these days was practically Zen-like in his calmness.

Yuan Zhao still wanted to speak, but he saw Huai Shi wave his hand, shove his hands in his pockets, and walk off.

Wang Xu, however, didn’t seem to appreciate the gesture. He just snorted and turned to walk on with his friends.

Only Yuan Zhao remained where he was.

”What are you waiting for, Ah Zhao?”

He heard his cousin’s urging voice and opened his mouth to say something. In the end, though, he dropped his head dejectedly and followed. Yuan Yuan, however, stood still, tilting her head with a puzzled gaze.

”What’s wrong?”

”...So you just leave your friend behind like that? Didn’t I just remind you about being polite?” Yuan Yuan shook her head and sighed unhappily. ”Couldn’t you go with him?”

”Eh?”

Yuan Zhao was stunned for a moment, not comprehending. Then his face lit up with disbelief. ”So... I can go?”

Yuan Yuan sighed again and turned to instruct, ”Uncle Ping, give him some money, not too much. Be back before nine, understand?” The latter part was directed at Yuan Zhao.

Yuan Zhao nodded frantically, it was unclear if he’d even heard her. Like a child suddenly on holiday, he snatched the money and bolted like a wild dog loosed from its leash, rushing straight towards Huai Shi.

He even winked triumphantly at Huai Shi, his face alight with excitement, as if to say, ”This afternoon, I’m taking you out for something awesome!”

”Wait, you’re just leaving your group like that?” Huai Shi was astonished.

”They’re my sister’s classmates anyway, and I don’t know them well.” Yuan Zhao shrugged carelessly, lifted his chin proudly, and said, ”Let’s go. After all, I’m the big bro here! Today, I’ll show you how the rich live!”

Huai Shi chuckled. He thought about the hundreds of pounds of Pure Gold in his bag and decided against shattering his little bro’s newfound confidence.

BANG!

A crisp sound suddenly erupted, and the entire station shook abruptly.

Huai Shi paused.

Is the ground moving?

He and Yuan Zhao exchanged glances.

Accompanied by the soft grinding of metal, the station exit right before Huai Shi’s eyes—along with the entire massive wall—instantly broke apart, retracted into the floor, and vanished.

It was incredible.

The Group Star was like some fantastical transforming machine; any part of it could slide, shift, rise, or fall to create entirely new spaces and configurations.

Now, as the wall disassembled, a space as wide as a city street was revealed beyond the station.
