Chapter 408: Chapter 351: The Unity of Man and Sword_1

”I’ll take that as a yes...”

As Huai Shi spoke, the swirling dust quivered abruptly before being torn apart by thunder.

Amidst the Dragon Wolf’s roar, Huai Shi sprinted towards the immensely huge monster. Wherever he went, lightning slashed like blades, leaving a deep scorched trail on the robust, jointed legs.

Swift as lightning.

In an instant, after traversing several hundred meters, Huai Shi leaped into the air, charging towards the writhing mass of flesh supported by sixteen sturdy limbs.

The searing Metallic Breath burst forth.

Then, Huai Shi saw the writhing flesh suddenly split to both sides. From within, a limb, as unpredictable as a hand, grew out, swiftly unfurling the membrane at its tip. Withstanding Huai Shi’s Metallic Breath, it broke through the air towards his face.

A slap!

The palm, burnt to Ashes, smashed onto Huai Shi’s body like a column. He was sent flying.

Like a wild dog kicked into the air, Huai Shi spun awkwardly, landed, and then, amidst the roaring wind, ran furiously forward.

Behind him, one after another, robust limbs slammed down, causing the already crumbling city to break apart even more.

Amidst the thunderous noise, the earth shook and mountains quivered.

Huai Shi was so scared his tongue practically lolled out.

Usually, the bigger the creature, the slower its speed, right? Why then, after the King transformed into a monster, did its speed become unbelievably fast?

He finally understood something. Even if it seemed to be merely a wriggling lump of rotten flesh, it could utterly unreasonably extract flesh and blood from other parts and grow new limbs at any time.

It was akin to being able to switch the position of all organs at any moment.

Even if one targeted its blind spots for an Offensive, in the next instant, the blind spot would become the front.

Not just 360 degrees; even the top and bottom left no gaps or weaknesses!

More terrifyingly, it seemed to be evolving non-stop.

After being scorched by the lightning, its body rapidly vibrated, emitting a horrifying heat. High-pressure streams of scalding vapor erupted from it, and immediately after, its body size suddenly shrank by a third.

But what was even more troublesome was that the surface of its limbs rapidly hardened and dried, turning into layers upon layers of insulating, heat-resistant chitinous structures.

Armored King Spider!

Huai Shi inhaled sharply. Then he saw the Armored King Spider sprint towards him, its vast shadow covering his dumbfounded, still Erha-shaped face, as razor-sharp limbs trampled down furiously towards him.

The speed was astonishing, as if it didn’t even need to aim, unleashing over 108 strikes a second!

Numerous fierce, intersecting slits emerged on the ground. Broken walls and debris were cleanly cleaved into halves, quarters, eighths, and even more flying fragments under the cutting limbs.

In the rush, Huai Shi was struck by a blow. He found a White Spot with faint cut marks branded on the thick scales on his back.

Huai Shi’s non-existent hackles stood on end, and his tail shot straight up in fright. He ran for his life, narrowly avoiding the cleaving limbs, then... he suddenly realized something.

Wait, I have defenses too.

I’ve turned into a dog—moreover, an armored, bulletproof teenage dog! It can’t kill me with one slash, so what am I afraid of?

Just stand your ground, no need to flinch!

After all, I have Superpowers!

I almost forgot I could still use the Hand of Confinement cheat...

Huai Shi turned back. PTOOEY! After slathering another layer of iron slurry on his scales, he suddenly whirled around and charged once more towards the King Spider, eroded by the Abyss.

”Fierce Wolf charges forward, Phoenix rushes to the moon!”

He sprinted up, took the slashing limbs head-on, leaped up, and with his sharp feet aimed at the King Spider’s abdomen, he shot out like a cannonball.

—Nanbu Dipper Dragon Wolf Great Cannon Fist!

BOOM!

Amidst the massive crash, the iron-headed Dragon Wolf smashed straight through the layers of cleaving limbs and collided with the King Spider’s face—if it still had something like a face. Huai Shi had specifically targeted an area with more eyes and faces to charge at.

After hitting it, Huai Shi felt as if he had broken through a layer of shell and landed on a rubber wall; the impact was completely dissipated, and he was sent flying back.

Damn, there was a cushion layer too?

All he saw was Plasma spraying out and quickly solidifying.

Although he hadn’t inflicted a severe injury, the effect was still outstanding.

The King Spider staggered back a few steps, barely able to support its body.

Huai Shi also felt darkness cloud his vision; he had a concussion.

With the King Spider’s howl, a section of its blade-leg suddenly transformed from swift and sharp to heavy and stout, resembling a Great Sword as big as a door panel. Seizing this fatal gap, it slashed down towards Huai Shi’s head.

Death Perception erupted.

Without a second thought, Huai Shi’s tail flicked up the Sword Blade behind him, raised it, and blocked in front of him.

Then, once again, he was sent flying back.

When he landed awkwardly, he saw the Great Sword hanging on his tail was now riddled with cracks.

As his tail released its grip, the Great Sword fell onto the Stone, and this masterless blade neatly snapped into two pieces right down the middle.

Huai Shi felt a pang of heartache. Although he hadn’t maintained it as diligently these past two days as he usually did, he had still occasionally added a piece now and then. Now that the lower half was completely gone, it was a real pity...

”Eat my mule kick!”

In his anger, Huai Shi stomped with all four legs and suddenly soared into the sky. He swirled in the air like the Spiral Piercing Dog for seven thousand two hundred degrees before his hind legs fiercely kicked out at the giant Spider.

Electric Light Poison Dog Drill!

A dreadful fissure burst open. Before the King Spider could retaliate, Huai Shi used the momentum to take to the skies again, curling his four legs into a ball. At first glance, he seemed like a tire covered in spikes, entwined with electric light, spinning wildly.

Immediately after, the metallic light of the Hand of Confinement burst forth from within!

Struck by a sudden idea, Huai Shi actually applied the Power of the Axe of Anger to himself. Now, more than forty percent of his body was alloy. Following the sudden, acute pain, all his sharp scales began to emit a restless red glow.

It was as if flames were rising.

The ferocious weapon awakened upon his body.

In that instant, the dog became the Axe, and the Axe became the dog—even Huai Shi admired how he could pull off such a chaotic stunt, but as long as it worked, who cared!

With Huai Shi’s roar, the wildly spinning Dragon Wolf descended from the sky.

”—Invincible Wind Fire Wheel!!!”

In the midst of the crazy spiraling, the Axe of Anger slashed through once, then again, thrice, four times, five times, then six, seven, eight, nine, ten more times in a flash, cutting an unknown number of times and tearing a dreadful, bloody gash on the main body of the King Spider.

The physical damage was one thing. More severe was its Source Matter Attack, carrying the rage and ferocity of the Dragon Wolf. The wild Source Substance deeply wedged into the King’s now chaotic consciousness, causing the surging Souls of the Lizard Men to instantly disintegrate.

Ignoring the disorienting darkness from the frenzy of spinning, the moment Huai Shi landed, he immediately charged towards the robust, jointed limb in front of him, his sharp iron tail sweeping across.

”Giant Axe chopping a big tree!”

BOOM!

Amidst the loud noise, the sturdy, jointed limb, formed by countless writhing flesh, was cleanly split into two.

The chaotic mess of the giant Spider lost a leg, and Plasma rained down.

But it seemed unfazed. After all, it had so many legs; one more or one less didn’t make much difference.

But unquestionably, Huai Shi had angered it.

Countless twisted faces congregated, forming a ferocious maw, which opened and let out a furious roar at Huai Shi—then it spat out a sticky, dark green venom.

The venom, flowing like a flood and burning with emerald fire, was clearly nothing good. The sight alone scared Huai Shi into a woeful escape.

Wherever the venom passed, the Stones hissed, even disintegrating into a pile of mush, emitting bursts of foul odor.

”Excess stomach acid indicates a bad stomach,” Huai Shi gasped sharply and sincerely advised. ”You should work less overtime, take more medicine, maintain a regular routine, and treat stomach diseases early, understand?”

The King Spider charged furiously.

It seemed to understand, and also lifted its sharp, knife-like legs once more to express its gratitude from deep within.

This thing has gone berserk!

Seeing that a casual swipe from it could create a crevice large enough to bury him, Huai Shi’s eyelids twitched, and he quickly retreated.

But amid the wild running, a cacophony of metal friction sounds came from him, with countless scales and shells trembling. Under the coverage of Source Substance, they underwent a Transformation again.

In an instant, his originally hefty and ferocious form became agile and slender. A pale green mist spread out faintly from his body. Wherever it passed, clumps of pure white Iris flowers bloomed.

—Spear of Compassion!

Huai Shi hadn’t expected that after changing the weapon state imposed on him, his physique and Power would also change. Now, his speed was more than twice as fast as before!

When the electric light darted about, no one could clearly see where his body was.

All around were Phantoms of the Dragon Wolf.

”Antelope sprinting!”

Huai Shi stepped on the fallen, severed limbs and leaped again.

”—Tree Badger Kick!”

As Huai Shi shot through the air, the sharp claws on his hind legs sprung out as well, tearing open a dreadful chasm on the main body of the King Spider.

The toxin from the Green Crown Dragon infiltrated the flesh, rapidly aging the tough Armor, the aging poison seeping deep into the marrow.

From the crumbling wound, blood spurted. Immediately after, numerous slender tentacles burst forth, entangling towards Huai Shi, who was now unable to change direction in mid-air.

But at the critical moment, Huai Shi’s tail suddenly elongated.

Under the state of the Spear of Compassion, he had unilaterally applied the Power of The Sorrow of Index to his tail, causing its length to surge in an instant.

With a flick of his body, Huai Shi’s tail wrapped around one of the Spider’s legs, yanking hard. This pulled his body, swinging and whirling through the air, easily avoiding the incessantly pursuing tentacles.

Even as he whirled, he entangled two more of the Spider’s legs together.

Then, Huai Shi roared.

”—Black tiger preying on trapped lamb!”
