Chapter 161: Chapter 148 Curse and Punishment_1

After a mournful cry, the wheelchair fell apart in the mud.

In an instant, the mud trembled violently.

Is it done? Huai Shi was elated beyond expectation.

Then a chill spread through his chest, and a military knife blade protruded from it.

As expected, it wasn’t over.

When he looked back in confusion, he saw Clement—who seemed to have crawled out of the mud—and his hideous face. Black breath continuously emerged from him.

”Damn it, are you a Second fifth too?”

Huai Shi was astonished.

In that moment, the once silent Dark Basicity trembled violently once more. It caused an even more violent uproar, sweeping in all directions.

Clement opened his mouth and violently spat out the Dark Basicity that had invaded his lungs. His eyes were crimson with madness.

”I cannot...”

He murmured hoarsely, ”I cannot... stop yet...”

His former teammate, Clement, an unlucky guy who’d become an NPC right from the start of the game... No, how much of his original self was even left at this moment?

As the black mud covered him, his coat sizzled. It soon transformed into stark, pitch-black formal attire, every part meticulous—from the bow tie to the cuffs.

The twisted face once again settled into calm, completely unrecognizable.

Gone was the dispiritedness and pallor from years of disappointment. Instead, he appeared haughty and handsome, his profound indifference and cruelty making him look like a natural-born Emperor.

This was the real Koshchey.

This was not the miserable wretch bound to a wheelchair, unable to complete a sentence. This was a walking terror and disaster among men: an Immortal, the Undead, a Transformer, a Wizard, a Demon King who devoured all enemies.

Though he had died, his immense obsession still moved through other people’s bodies, wandering this human world and bringing destruction and death.

Huai Shi opened his mouth and vomited a large mouthful of blood. ”Man,” he said, ”we’re already dead. Can’t we just take it easy?”

”I cannot... stop yet...”

He raised his stiff head and gazed at Huai Shi’s face. ”At least... I must make sure... Yaga... gets to the New World...”

If you hadn’t fucking messed things up, we all could have made it to the New World alive!

In that instant, the military knife was drawn out. With another strike, Koshchey aimed for Huai Shi’s head.

But Huai Shi instantly turned. Blood spurted from his chest as he raised his Axe and Short Knife, blocking the swift and fierce strike. He felt his wrist go numb.

The terrifying power and killing intent almost overwhelmed him.

The wound in his chest seemed comparatively unimportant. Too many lice, and you stop feeling the itch. Compared to the torment of the Penalty for Oath Breaking, this pain was like a mosquito bite. As for the piercing damage, for Huai Shi, who was currently high on potions, it was nothing.

Amid the CLANGING low hum of steel colliding, Huai Shi took a step back. He looked down at the slowly healing gash on his chest, then up at Koshchey, who was advancing steadily.

His steps were precise and dignified, his posture flawless. As he held the military knife to his chest, his eyes filled with cold solemnity and a killing intent that surged like a tide.

Huai Shi took a deep breath. His palms began to sweat.

For the first time since boarding the ship, he had encountered such a flawless opponent. Yet, for some reason, what arose in him was not fear, but excitement.

It felt like the joy and anticipation of meeting one’s match in chess.

With that, his Short Knife and Axe spread out from his sides as he raised his arms, revealing the now unrecognizable Theravada Dual Sword Technique. Whether it was Rome Dagger Fighting or some other style entirely... Huai Shi eagerly shifted his stance, searching for the right distance to launch an ”Offensive” as they advanced and retreated.

In that moment, both men’s boots stood firm on the broken floor.

Their blood-red eyes flashed with killing intent.

In that instant, the Immortal and the Vampire burst forth. Steel clashed with a shrill sound, and continuous thunder echoed.

It was the wail of the Axe Blade and the military knife cutting through the air.

With just a narrow Slavic Military Knife, Koshchey pressed on, actually suppressing Huai Shi’s dual weapons. Violent power and will raged from the slender blade, countering the Axe’s chop. Koshchey punched towards Huai Shi’s inner elbow, flinging aside Huai Shi’s blade, then his raised fist smashed into Huai Shi’s jaw.

Huai Shi saw only darkness. He then felt himself lifted off the ground by the punch.

Next, the military knife slashed down, creating a gash across his chest.

In mid-air, his Short Knife slipped from his hand, piercing Koshchey’s left arm.

Both men retreated a step.

Huai Shi gasped for breath. His ears were ringing, the coppery-sweet taste of blood seeped from his mouth, and a stabbing pain shot through his chest.

The slash was deep enough to reveal bone.

Koshchey expressionlessly pulled the blade from his arm and raised the military knife again. Huai Shi shook his head, trying to dispel the vertigo, and gripped his Axe handle tightly.

He murmured softly, ”What a pity.” If only there was some BGM.He missed Old Liu like never before, desperately wishing Old Liu would send him another MP3—even one that cost just twenty or thirty thousand would do.

As if hearing his prayer, the cruise ship ROARED. The ceiling crumbled, and a spark slid down, igniting a table in the corner.

Flames rose.

The light illuminated the crimson in both their eyes.

Reflected in Koshchey’s hollow eyes was Huai Shi’s face. A hint of brutish excitement seemed to emerge as Koshchey gripped the military knife tighter.

”Again!”
